My 1969 Repaint arrived today. First impression: WOW! It's AWESOME!
There's just something about a kick ass gokin showing up at my door. I felt lousy all day - like I had a low grade fever, or something. When I saw the box from the BBTS, everything changed. I opened this baby up, and I suddenly felt GREAT! My endorphins skyrocketed! I think I've discovered the cure for the common cold. But I'm not going to share it with the world - just you guys.
But seriously, I don't want to mess this thing up. I partially put on a fist attachment and noticed a spot the size of the head of a pin on top of the hand. I'm not sure if this is a flaw, or some scuffing has occurred. I know from reviews that the paint on Fewture Models can be delicate. Is there a safe way to put these on? Or, am I just paranoid?

$300+ remedy for a common cold is a bit on the pricey side, but glad it worked out for you. Its been a little while, but don't remember too much trouble changing out the hands/fists of Future Mazinger Z. Just pull straight so you don't snap the wrist peg. But if you are concern with paint issues, Fewture has plenty. So some scuffs or chipped paint is pretty common. Some folks lucked out with perfect specimens. Others including myself has less than ideal conditions to put it lightly.

Your input is appreciated.

Don't notice much paint rub on the PVC hands with knuckle add-ons. However, paint rubs on the diecast magnetic lower arms if you rotate the lower arms often, e.g. if you have the iron cutter on and try to adjust the blades angle often. I sometimes notice black powder on the magnets, probably due to paint rubbing inside the joint. Fortunately, its not something you see on the outside, until you remove the lower arm.

Can you take a picture of and explain how to remove the arms? i never knew that was a thing. does it also apply to the great mazingers? sure man no problems i will do it when i have time (later tonight hopefully) you just hold the shoulder from the top and pull it out gently (just like Voltron) as for Great Mazinger it does apply on it as well, im not sure about this new repaint tho EDIT sorry man last night i was really busy, here you go see you just pull the arm gently like you are pulling the red or green lions from Voltron nothing in Fewture say im pure Taku Sato like Mazinger z and Great Mazinger he literally put his everything in those two, i feel really blessed that i got them into my collection awesome, thanks. my great mazinger's shoulder has always sat kinda funny. i'll have to try this out to see if i can fix it.

told you, you will love it is just pure awesomeness and im like you when its a rainy day a good figure could make the sun shine those things have a weird healing powers as for the paint, on later Fewture figures it became a rare thing there is away to put the knuckle weapon, first you must angle it right then put them together or if you are extremely careful, you can put one side then pull (with little force) till you put the other side you are welcome glad i helped

Thanks, mpchi and S_Gokin. Once I read your recommendations and took a look at the hands, I had no trouble. The pin sized spot was just a little styrofoam from the packaging. I was worried it would have QC issues or be fragile. But, beautifully manufactured. After spending a little time with the figure, I'm so glad to have it.
Also, I was wandering if you guys think Fewture will release the sword and additional parts. After seeing the old Collection Dx review, I really want them.

The more I admire this figure in person, the more I love it. I see why the sculptor is still held in such high regard. The proportions and musculature are such that it looks more like a living, breathing creature than a robot. The paint and chrome are beautiful. I'm so glad I decided on this instead of the Mazinger Z DC. I love Bandai, but I can definitely see skipping the Dynamic Classics and buying more Fewture Models. The further I get into this hobby, the more satisfied I am by bigger, more impressive figures.

Do you have the EX Gokin Sam the Eagle...? If not, that's a great one too. And of course, the Getter Robos.

Yumcha - It's good to see someone else is on Google+. I honestly thought I was the only one!
I actually tried to buy the Black Shin Getter 1 repaint from an Italian eBayer over the summer, but it never showed up! I was able to get a refund, but that was scary. So, that's the Fewture Model I'm most interested in. Grendizer looks awesome, too. I'm not sure what my next purchase will be. I'm originally a vintage collector, and a Godaikin Daltanious is something I've been kicking around for quite a while. But there's so much awesome new stuff, I've gotten side tracked. I'm also thinking about a Mazinger Z DX, but the complete set is getting pretty pricey. And the Megazord is coming out - I know my kid will want to add that to the collection. In the past couple months, I've picked up the Great Mazinger DX, the GX-71 and this. They're all awesome. As of tonight, my obsession is satisfied. I'm pretty sure that will change quickly. When it does, I'll prioritize.

Take a look if you have not done so.

Dragon is awesome.
Poseidon is also crazy good. Heavy as hell with "quality" clickies everywhere.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I think I'll put Dragon at the top of my list. I do remember seeing the review from Josh B now that you mention it, and I thought it looked incredible. Playing with the Dragun 5" Shogun Warrior is one earliest memories, and my only representation is the Dynamite Action! Metallic Dragon. So, I'm pretty sure that will be my next piece.

Also, this might be a stupid question, but I was wondering, what is the significance of "1969" is in this robots name?

Wow, I never realized Fewture was that old? What did they start out doing? Older Toy companies always have some interesting histories.

Also, this might be a stupid question, but I was wondering, what is the significance of "1969" is in this robots name? actually its not a stupid question at all, till today im not %100 sure what the 1969 means lol and no its not the year that ArtStorm was founded if you check their site you will see the date of establishment is May 1982 and the first regular release of this Mazinger was released in 2007 my personal guessing, Go Nagai had the first brainstorming about Mazinger z in 1969 so they put it as a sign of that as always correct me if im wrong
