I finally opened this guy. It’s no DX SOC but comparing to other ET toys i own it’s probably a win in ET’s book. It looks pretty darn good just not a lot of fun handling it. I do like the gimmicks. Of course there are a few annoying things since it’s ET after all but it’ll do nicely on my shelf. I wonder how long it’ll be before I build up enough enthusiasm to open the action toys one too. It's a very different interpretation from the SOC.

The only advantages that the ET version has is that it comes with extras like the light up eyes, the Shataro Kaneda figure, booster carrier, gripper, and the V-controller. But the Action Toys version is solid and built like a tank!

But I do see a lot of charm with this ET release. You didn’t mention the internal mechanical details and openable panels which to me is the biggest difference between the two. The hidden storage compartment in the legs are great touches paying homage to the godaikin. I also love the accessories that came with this one. The closest comparisons for this ET release really are the DX SOC mazingers. The Action Toys one is more like the awesome Daigokins from back in the day. I looks forward to opening it too!

I feel that if ET made the skeletal frame of the T-28 very durable feeling, and if the metallic blue color was of a similar shade like the Action Toys version, then it would have been a very great figure. The skeletal frame on my ET T-28 feels very fragile. I had a lot of high expectations going in with the ET T-28 and was let down. But I did purchase another product from ET which was their Future Quest Getter Robo (Getter-1). I was quite happy with the quality on that figure, and look forward if they can release their planned Future Quest Getter Dragon figure. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one!

The eyes light up on the Evolution Toys version but my friend the HM version also have LED in the eyes, it also comes with an extra eyes which have a bright yellow paint to give it a more anime accurate look
it also comes with Shotaro Kaneda tiny figure, but its very detailed along with clipper (the red machine)
i think the one feature that no one saw coming with the HM version is the mechanical details inside the chest

LOL, knowing it's ET, I went in with low expectation and it met it. I only own 3 other ET products: albegas, legioss, and the VF-2SS (now sold). They, especially the VF-2SS, allowed me to calibrate my expectation. I look forward to the ACtion Toys one (HM one), but I'm really glad to own this ET one too as they do different things.

UNFORTUNATELY mine is AT one! [/quote] Oh man it’s so hard to find resonance with the ET figure even in its own thread. I’m trying hard here. Lol. I think this figure would have been much better received if not released around the same time as the AT one. Unfortunate timing for ET really.

The QC on this one isn't bad. If your goal is display and very occasional handling the ET one is great. This one pairs very well with the DX SOC mazingers.

The figure does look excellent and I love your pics. Thanks! I took a few more tonight hope you guys don't mind me spamming the thread. I wanted to compare the ET Tetsujin with the DX SOC Mazingers. The tip of Tetsujin's mohawk is about at the same height as the tip of Great Maz's head. They look like they're from the same line. Just when Tetsujin is celebrating that he belongs with the big boys Out came the ultimate judge, the cold hard truth But still I really like this dude and what he brings to the table and i'm putting my foot down (or up)
