It wouldn't be complete though without Raideen. Daimos and Raideen have the coolest faces that exist in Super Robots (well, Megatron is not a super bot, but he does have a cool face )

I bought GX-03 and GX-03B in anticipation the future release of a SOC Voltes V.
I don't have an issue with the size of GX-03. It's all right with me.
Anyway,. I just bought both GX-13 and GX-13R and they are really too bulky, not that I have any problem with this also.
I look forward having both the SOC Combattler V and the upcoming SOC Voltes V standing side by side in my display case.

I guess it makes sense that the size of Combattler and Voltes are close to each other for scales purpose. I just don't like the "lean" look of Combattler-too long legs and short torso. Well if Voltes V is going to be a bit bigger than Combattler as posted by "ataru"- the height of the "coin" bank Voltes V would not be so bad, and it is close to the size of Combatller.

Hi sideshowsito,
I believe I have 10 Banker Box of STARWARS Carded Figures in my Girlfriend's Garage and I don't know what to do with all of them. I got tired of collecting too many variants and hard to find figures.
If Voltes V is coming out first Qtr of 2006, I still have plenty of time to sell everything. MUHAHAHA!!!

I really hope they make a black version of Voltes to go with the Gx03B(and maybe some pewter statues of the pilots to go with it:) )

I can't wait for this figure to come out! But I do hope they do not make a "R" version of Com-Battler, I think he is perfect the way he is and even if he's not as advance as Voltes it suits him since he's suppose to be an older design.

Chen, you think the SOC Combattler should be worse than the Voltes because the design is older? I'm sure glad Bandai didn't feel that way with Mazinger Z!

I don't think it should be worse, I just don't think there's anything wrong with Com-Battler the way it is, what can Bandai do to make it anybetter without a complete re-design. If Bandai re-engineers every SOC that comes out so that it can have the latest in design, then were just going to keep getting "R" versions of everything (I know I don't feel like re-buying all my SOC's again just to get the latest "R" version).
Mazinger on the other hand is understandable because he is the most iconic Super Robot out there and is the mascot or figure head for the whole SOC line so he should be updated once in awhile.

Well Chen, in Japan Combattler is the most iconic combining robot. It's not like it would be if they were doing a renewal version of Dancougar or something. At the Japanese forums I read, it seems like a renewal version Combattler has nearly as much demand as the Voltes, and this is from people that already have the GX-03.
Yeah, if Bandai releases a renewal Combattler, I would expect it to be a redesign, not something like the daikuumaryuu renewal version. Combattler deserves it though. It's fine that you like the GX-03 as it is, but it could be done waaay better in many ways, and Bandai has proven that they're capable of doing so. If one comes out and you don't want it, it wouldn't kill you to skip it. Personally, if I already had a gx-03 when a new version came out, I'd sell it in a heartbeat, and probably make enough to buy the new, better version and have money leftover. A guy can't go wrong with that unless he's a completist.

A guy can't go wrong with that unless he's a completist. Well I would consider Getter Robo as the most Iconic Gattai robot (impossible transformation as it is), but I do see where your coming from, Com-Battler is more popular than Voltes and I guess a "R" version would be appropriate. I'd just rather have Bandai focus on designing a new figure than re-design an existing one. But I guess if they did do a GX-03R I'd get it for the same reasons I got GX-01 and GX-02 after I got GX-01R and GX-02R they maybe the same charactures but there different enough to be unique. -Chris
