Getter Robo is definitely loved, and the first combiner, but I'm pretty sure Combattler is more iconic. Getter Robo felt similar to Mazinger Z, but Combattler had lots of fresh new elements. Combattler had a toy that kids could actually combine, the word "combine" in the opening song, a name that reminds you of combining. From what I've seen, in Japan, if you think combining robot, you think Combattler.
On an aside, if there were a GX-06R, I'd buy it, but I'd rather they put that effort somewhere else. I think the standard of quality is far higher on the Getter Robo set than Combattler- I don't have Grendizer yet so I don't know if it can compared with the king of space though. The GX-06 looks beautiful next to the other Go Nagai bots.

I was talking to the cashier/sales clerk of a local toy store and he told me that Voltes V will be GX-33. There will be Gaiking, Xabungle(spelling?) & Black Ox?(villain/enemy of Tastuin 28) before Voltes V gets release.
I don't know how accurate this information is though.

HAS ANYBODY TAKEN A CLOSER LOOK AT THE SWORD? LOOKS LIKE THE THE "M" INSIGNIA FROM VOLTES V'S CHEST IS A FULL SWORD THAT JUST NEEDS TO BE UNFOLDED... NEAT!!! ;D img30.echo.cx/img30/6330/vsword9ve.jpgI kind of have mixed feelings about that gimmick... I hope they really pull it off very neat, with the gaps looking seamless. I will still want a separate sword, chromed preferably.

It's coming with both, Mechapunk, although I don't know if the solid one will be chrome or not. I bet it will.

i was hoping soc voltes would be able to rotate in its waist , and have the mobility of dancougar or master piece prime but its still good. I would probably buy one first and get the black edition next. which is sure to come

Newby here! V5 looks like it's going to be an awesome figure, but there are a few things that could have been added to make it better. Pros: Clear and better designed cockpits, posability, anime accuracy, fixed claws on the Panzer, removable belt, buckle can open, ball jointed thighs, volt bazooka etc. Things that could have been: Firing missiles(if possible)especially on the volt bazooka, the belt buckle should release a top or have the missile firing gimmick like gx-01r and gx-02(r),more weapons. Other than than the "things that could have been" I'm very satisfied with SOC V5(Note:Bandai if you're reading this, please add firing missiles and add more accessories,PLEASE!!!). But here's one question: Do those volt crewser missiles fire? If anyone replies to this question, Thanks!

Welcome to the board CHOGOv9! From the pictures it looks like there will be no firing missiles but since these are early concept drawings things may change.

Thanks Chen. Voltes V has us fans( especially Filipino fans,I'm one of them) pysched.I CAN'T WAIT ;D They are already going crazy here, there is already a pre - pre - order list and that is just for seeing the diagram. And most are not even collecting SOCs. Still good that the news is still within the toy collecting community. If the general populace gets a word of it who knows what will happen.

No one probably brought this up but didn't Voltes V have a tank mode in the show?I mean the current prototype pictures just show the seperate vehicles and robot mode and accessories and gimmicks, but not the tank mode. I saw pictures of the old Voltes V in a tank mode and if Combattler V had one, should V5 have one too? Do blueprints sometimes change designs overtime when the product is still designed and do you think even without the blueprints, BANDAI will just add more gimmicks and accessories to V5?
