Now that is one seriously big a$$ sword. Killer looking bot, and I must add that I really like the way they sculpted the flames coming from his head. I know it's kind of a minor detail but it has a great dramatic effect on the overall piece. March, hrmm..*sigh*

There must be lots of Gohkin on the Godanner itself to hold that big azz sword otherwise it will fall easily when holding it hehe ;D

that Godannar Max Alloy Gokin looks very good !! I hope to see die cast (alloy) parts as much as possible!
...and I hope to NOT see elbows articulations as in Mazinkaiser Max Gokin.

Okay, that thing looks amazing. Another absolutely must have item for me. And I agree with the other poster, some of the SOCs just do not have the same appeal as some of these other toys. Heresy, I know...
What is the complete list for toys in this Max Factory line? We have Mazinkaiser and Godanner, but what else? And how impossible are they to get?

Max Alloy Gokin line:
1, Genesic GaoGaiGar 2, Mazinkaiser (the super robot wars version) 3, GaoGaiGar (old news: Max Factory said that it will be probably out in December 2005) 4, Godannar Twin Drive Mode (3/2006)
Ther it is !

I don't think we'll be seeing the GaoGaiGar before March 2006. This is how the list should read: 1. Genesic GaoGaiGar 2. Mazinkaiser (SRW version) 3. Godannar Twin Drive Mode (03/2006) 4. Garland Bike from Megazone 23 (??/ ?) - The prototype for this is shown in the pic Vincent Z posted; it looks like it'll be the first transforming Max Gokin. 5. TV GaoGaiGar (??/ ?)

I don't really see why Max Factory would still want to make Gaogaigar. After Genesic it almost seems like an afterthought, and where CM put out their version.. What they should do is put out Baan Gaan! I wish.
I'm totally enthusiatic about Max Factory's direction. I was sold with GGGG. For me personally, things like transformation and anime accuracy are nice perks sometimes, but not even close to being as important as great sculpting, quality materials, and good articulation. Max Factory seems to hold these as their priorities, so it works for me. Even with Mazinger's joint system I felt it was a calculated necessity and maybe a little bit of a test to see what kind of response it would get.
Godanner isn't just a must get for me, it's already sold!

I'm not crazy about the GaoGaiGar design, but it has potential. I've got the completeness bug with the Max Gokin line, so personally I'd rather they do robots from shows I like (I haven't had a chance to watch GGG yet) so I won't have to drop $150 on a mech I'm not particularly fond of but will be head-over-heels for when I see MF's rendition.
Like xiombarg, I really like the direction Max Factory is going with in the Max Gokin line. Bandai does all the retro stuff (which isn't my thing) in the SOC line while Max Factory does stuff from relatively recent robot properties, although not declining to modernize an 80's design here and there like they are with the Garland bike.
I do disagree that there's little point for Max Factory to make a TV GGG though. I personally find the CM's version proportionally offensive, which unfortunately is the compromise companies oftentimes have to make when making things transformable. Like xiombarg, I appreciate Max Factory's prioritizing of quality of sculpt over transformability and other gimmicks.

I'm not into the retro thing either. I understand why collector's like SOCs but where they aren't updated too much or modernized they don't appeal to me enough to purchase. Well, ok, I own one. I will give SOCs credit for really pushing die cast back into the mainstream though. After the 90s I didn't think die cast would come back around.

Heh, I own one SOC too (the GX-09MA, which isn't retro at all). Don't get me wrong; I'm not taking anything away from the SOC line. It's the premier line of diecast robots that, like yo usaid xiombarg, has really brought back diecast robots into the quasi-mainstream. If for nothing else, I'm grateful that the success of the SOC line helped pave the way for the Max Gokin line.
