Godanner + Max Gohkin = WOW If it's true, wondering if it's transformable like the SHE does.

Awsome! I doubt it will transform but it'll have a ton of diecast. I've only seen the first season of the show so I don't know what weapons Godannar has. I have seen him with a big ass sword though.

Interesting, didn't know MF made the Go Danner before, I know there's a resin-cast kit made by Kaiyodo in the late 2004 and it's posable too when finish building it.

Positively awesome news. I'd be entirely content if it came out looking just like the old one shown in the pic.
On a side note, I highly doubt it'll feature the very cool transformation gimmick that makes the SHE release special. Of course, this is a sacrifice I'm willing to accept, considering the Max Gokin version will be roughly the same size, be full of diecast, have aesthetically-pleasing proportions and a clean paintjob, at roughly 1/5th of the price.
I was looking forward to getting the TV GaoGaiGar this year though, as it was reported that we'd be getting the Garland Bike and TV GaoGaiGar in 2005. Still, it's great news that they didn't scrap their awesome-looking PVC Godannar, and even better, it's now a Max Gokin. Here's to hoping their Big-O stuff makes another appearance sometime down the road.

Whoa that is good news! I'm just curious as to whether they'll still release the Megazone 23 Garland. I remember seeing unpainted prototypes pics(untransformed, bike mode only) from last year. I also wonder what happened to the Yamato version of Garland. Both companies were working on their own versions of Garlands at that time. I remember Godannar not having much weapon attacks, his moves are mostly martial arts based, it was only in the second to the last episode of Season 2 that he used the Sword(the only time he even got to use the sword) I do hope they include a spinning flame accessory for the Max Gokin version though(when he does the final attack) . Would you happen to know where I could see those Garland pics? I'm not a *huge* fan of the design, but I think it would look nice next to my SoP Kaneda's Bike. I also speculated that it'd be Max Factory's first attempt at a transforming chogokin, which would've been cool. If sacrifices would have to have been made to the sculpts in each mode though, I wouldn't want the gattai gimmick. Who knows - maybe it'll be a two-pack. Whoa that is good news! Here's a couple pics of when Godannar was suppose to be a plastic figure but hopefully the Gokin version will look the same and come with that big sword.

As always, Max Fax's gokins look extremely good. But the thing that gets me about their toys is, the price!
Goddanar looks great though. I 'might' bite the bullet with this one and get it if and when it comes out.

BTW, about the Yamato Garland, there have been no new reports or updates yet either from Yamato/Toycom USA, or Yamato Japan.
Maybe they put it under wraps again.. who knows.

hey Chen.. do you know if there any art books on Godannar? I really like the mechs.. its got a nice Mix of oldschool and new stuff. Mazinkaiser was cool.. but I feel his design is kind of too far removed from Mazinger and Great Mazinger. I guess thats why I like Godannar. Hmm its too bad they don't make all the robots in that show.. theres a whole bunch I would love to get!

I don't think I've seen any but maybe now since they have had a couple seasons worth of designs they might put one out.

Keep in mind, the super robots aren't the biggest draw for a lot of the series' fans. As for the pricetags on the Max Gokin stuff: yeah, they are pretty steep. The GGGG retailed for about 5000 yen more than I think it should've. I thought the Mazinkaiser price was a little more bearable though. It's *only* 2000 yen more than the Aoshima release, and I think I've stated enough how much more I like the Max Fax version. ;D I'm just fortunate enough that it's getting brought over here by Diamond at an easier-to-stomach pricetag, a trend I'd really like to see continue with the Godannar. Speaking about prices, I'd really like to see the Godannar retail in Japan for around 10000-12000 yen at most. As previously stated, the Godannar doesn't really have a wealth of accessories Max Factory could include with it. So even with the trademark big-ass stand, the Godannar should still cost a considerable deal less than Mazinkaiser.
