I think the upper torso part should have been part of the internal structure and it should have been diecast... Other wise, any shoulder (upward) movement is bound to stress the neck area.....

cool pictures.. question.. now i'll be more carefull with that part..
omni.. it's not a reason to keep away from godannar.. i have mine posed many many times taht you can even think of.. but still after making some pose.. from simple to extreme.. i haven't broken any part of my godannar.. and no paintchips either.. i think it's how you handle your stuff.. just to be fair.. Godannar is one awesome robot that i have no regrets in buying this piece.. truly a work of art and a "must" have for any collector/enthusiast for robot..

aww man... do you have the broken piece still that came off? maybe you can glue it on?
sorry been working on a art piece (I'll get to that review) but I was wondering how the shoulder connection looked like. I really wish it were die cast joints.

Here's what you should use to fix this: Tamiya Epoxy Putty. This stuff is awesome. You can even use it to sculpt an entirely new part if you have to. It sets up hard in about 1 day, but to fully set up takes about three to four days. It adheres well to anything, it's sandable and/or you can use an exacto knife to whittle it and scrape it into any sculpted form. It will take some time, but this stuff is awesome. Where this piece isn't seen, you might be able to just attach the chest to the body while the putty is still soft and not even have to sculpt a new peg. If you do this, make sure you've placed it correctly before it sets up, but that's the nice thing about this stuff is that you have hours before it really starts to set up. Good luck!

Sounds like Tamiya Epoxy Putty is the magic compound. Think my brother actually have some, whenever I'll need it to fix my figures. My Godannar is doing fine too. Pose it different every couple days or so at my work desk. Barely have any paint chip except on the hand/arm connection when I change hands. Unavoidable, but is all covered up by the extra wrist cover anyway. I am pretty sure there will be some chips eventually, but mostly because you are not careful enough. Heck, even SOC chips at some spots. I happen to like both combiner & end result aesthetics. Just depends on which bots. Aquarion's both transformation & look didn't appeal to me. But all the GGG toys does, regardless some taking almost an hour to finish combination. SOC Dancougar is also great. But when its done really well like the Godannar, I am fine without the combination, even though it was supposed to be a combiner to begin with.

Thanks xiombarg,
I didn't know anything about it... so I just used the super gel glue. I basically stuck the torso part to the internal structure. So it's now SOLID... without compromizing the shoulder range too much. It works for me.
Kidchuckle, The shoulder joint is all plastic.

As long as it's fixed, that's all that counts.

Question: Thanks for posting those pictures. It wasn't until I took my Godannar down from the shelf and compared it to your pics that I understood what broke and how it got broken. Now I'll know what to look out for on mine.

yeah. Pretty much. Maybe little less, but it's hard to tell. Otherwise it actually feels more sturdy...

I said awhile back, that I'll "pass" on this one. But I've been having "chogkin-supa robot" anxiety the past couple of days, come to think of it I haven't had any purchases for this year and last night I took the plunge. It was a hard decision between CM's GGGG and Godannar, I chose the latter. I hope I made the right decision.

I kept a really close eye on this thread while I waited, but I got mine couple of weeks ago. When I opened it and held it, I thought of two things: there's enough die-cast on this, and uh... better be careful with the chest plate. Mine had no obvious paint flaw or chips. One of the inner upper arms has a minor paint defect though - it's like a little lump so small you can barely see it or feel by running your finger nail over it. Joints were tight but not overly so. Chest plate feels very fragile but I'm well-armed with knowledge gathered from this very forum! And finally, is it just me, or do the screws not fit right in the sword? I got one screw in ok, but the other was REALLY hard (and yes, I made sure I had the right ones because one is part of the stand; there's a short one and a longer one for the sword and the longer one is way too long for one of the holes).

It sounds like your screws need to be switched around. I tried to using the wrong ones my first try and I thought there was no way that could be right, so I switched them around and they fit correctly.

Unfortunately I have only watched the 1st 2 episodes of this anime so i don't have the urge to buy yet, but that could change after I finished my other mecha & super robot animes. Then it'll become my big 4

Red hair is when Danner merges with the Neo Oka-something. Blue hair is when Danner merges with Go Oka-something(more powerful combo).
