If you haven't had the chance to handle a Maxgokin figure in person, you are in for a very cool heavy metal experience. Maxgokin quality is almost perfect. OK, maybe not almost perfect, but they are damn good, damn it!

I checked my MF GGGG the other day and the yellow/gold parts on the knee drills and fists started to decolorize.. The drills don't match each other in terms of shade anymore.. Anyone else experience this? BTW My GGGG is usually kept away in its box and taken out only for pics. Gold

I had a box of action figures in storage for about five years and when I opened them back up all the colors had changed. Some of them had changed completely. Direct light will make colors fade and light turns white plastic to yellow.

Thanks Xiombarg, dang, and I handled it with gloves at all times and I even wiped the toy down before putting it back in storage... I guess sometimes crazy stuff happens no matter how hard you try... Thanks for the link Bizzio, Nice to see the Godannar box and inner packaging. I really hope this toy is heavy on the diecast(to justify the price tag.. it's practically an SOC Voltes). At least there's a display stand that comes with it.. That's always a welcome plus Gold

2006 is gonna be a very interesting year for diecast robot models...the black getter by fewture, this one by max factory and, later on, two new releases by aoshima: black getter ryoma and arcadia death shadow...
The least interesting projects are, IMHO, those by Bandai, whose 2006 line up is not very appealing to me.

... new releases by aoshima: black getter ryoma ... NICE!!! is it official bro? aoshima would release the black getter ryoma version??? here's a picture of the previously released ryoma black getter model kit by aoshima: surely the design of the actual gokin would not be far from this model kit design. and it looks great!!!

i've searched the net for a little backgrounder on go dannar, here's what i've got:
the story goes, it's the 2040's and 5 years prior, Goh Saruwatari was one of many Dannar pilots who helped save the world from the invading Mimetic Beasts. In the process, he also saved a girl named Anna whom he grew to love and become engaged to. In present day, they are about to be wed, but the Mimetic Beast threat isn't over and a new Beast is spotted off the coast of Japan. Goh is called into action just before professing his vows and instead of letting him go it alone, Anna follows him to the action.
In the war five years earlier, Goh's piloting partner and love lost her life and instead of finding a new partner, he reserves himself solely as a backup pilot. In her pursuit of Goh, Anna stumbles upon the robot of Goh's last partner and being the adventurous girl that she is, gets right on in to pilot it and help Goh defeat the invading alien. Despite Goh's objections, it of course ends up that he does need Anna and a new robot duo is born.
Later, we learn that fighting duos are the standard in giant robot combat. Many major countries have their own team. But even with so many robots, each one is unique. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses. But what is really unique about Godannar is that each duo can merge their robots to make an even more powerful robot with its own unique moves. Knowing when to use their individual robots and when to merge is key to destroying the Mimetic Beasts, no two of which require the same tactics to be defeated.

mannyD: yes, it's sure Aoshima will release that black getter; dunno if it will be the same as the figure you posted, but I hope so...

Oh NO! JUst when I was feeling complacent. I figured By the time Voltes arrives I'd be pretty much done buying new stuff for a while. I like the Ryoma Getter, but it's just too expensive. But then I looked and... I want this thing. Godanner has given me the fever. You know the symptoms: repeated visiting of threads to check the same picture over again because you might have missed something. Getting an adrenaline rush when you see that Bizzio has made a new post Doing some harmless checking around the web for the best deal Rationalizing the cost : it wasn't the toy buying that left you broke last month- you gave the cat too much food again. Fluffy needs only one can per week. Better that they supplement their diet with mice anyway Figuring the odds that the thing will arrive when the wife is out , and you can have it on the shelf before she even notices- "That thing? Oh I've had for a while.." (yeah, like forty five minutes) JWM
