I agree with you guys here. This fig is Definitely NOT a toy. None of the SOC figs are toys. They're designed as Collectables, which explains their intricate detail and accessories. The moment mine arrived, I was really nervous about how I was gonna handle him from his box... that's why, if ya look in the pics, I wore a knitted rubber-palm gripped glove. My fingertips are very oily and will leave grime on the figure if I touch it; regardless how much I wash my hands. As for collecting this figure series, I'll just stay with the Mazingers, Doblas and Garada, and their posse-- to include Grendizer... ...and Only the anime-colored versions; no "blacks" no "golds" no "chromes" versions whatever... That would kill my wallet; and I don't wanna be too fussy about handling golds and blacks versions. I'm happy owning just the colored versions. I'd like to score an SOC HoverPilder, too. My wishlist calls for a Mazinkaiser SOC. I may add, later on, a Tetsujin28 SOC and a Black Ox with him. Now my big concern is keeping my room smoke-free so these gokins don't get smudged in soot... ...I chainsmoke cigars. ;D I'll keep my gokins and vinyls in a glass case, to shield them all from da smoke. zozo-Magengar thats why i use gloves for all the toys i have, well the ones thats still in the box(and most of them are) once in a while when i get a day off, i try to get them out and just do some poses with it. i dont worry about smoke... we made a rule that no smoking inside the apartment ^_^ and for my wishlist..... oh God, where should i start lolz! for now im into the black versions, maybe next month it will change and i will be going with the regular version or gold version... who knows

My room is really small. I got a couple shelves put up near the window so my hauls can have some fresh air.
I rig a fan in my window to suck the smoke out and blow it outside, otherwise it would be a thick "London fog" up in here. ;D

So Magengar, what other SOC are you gonna get other than Tetsujin 28 and Black Ox. My list is pretty simple and almost complete. I based my SOC collection on the Best Posing Super Robot Museum Figures. Series one has Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Grendizer, Combattler V, Voltes V, and Daimos. Series two has Gaiking, Daiku Maryu, Getter 1,2,3 and Raideen. So far, I've waiting for GX-06 to be reissue so I can have Getter 1,2,3. Then all I need to get is GX-05R and thats it for my SOC collection. Well until Bandai decides to do Daimos and Raideen. Along the way, I added Dianan A, Boss Borot and Garada K-7 from the Mazinger Z shows. Venus A, I didn't want but the twin pack along with GX-02R, I found for a cheap price. I got a GX-02B, again because I found one at a cheap price. And finally GX-32 Gold Lightan, cause I've always wanted a transforming lighter.

Hmmmm... good question. I'd like to have many of the cool robots from the classic And modern age. Buttt, I want 90% of my collection to be just the Mazinger-Z robot, in various forms and sizes whether it's a model kit, plastic, vinyl, or diecast. I'm dead-set on Mazinger-Z. For SOCs: I want Mazinger-Z, Great Mazinger, Grendizer, Raideen, GetterRobo1, GetterRobo Dragon, Tet28 and Black Ox, Doblas, Garada-K7, and of course I just Gotta have my puzzyboy Boss Borot. ;D and Mazinkaiser, and Giant Robo ( I wish). I also want the SOC PX-number(?) hover-Pilder. ...All of These in their Original colors, and perfect versions. I've sworn off No "golds" nor "blacks" nor "Cheerios" versions... I'm not a fan of "blah-blah Versions", because they'll distract my focus from Mazinger. Once I have All these SOCs I've mentioned, then my personal SOC line will be Complete. To complete the SOC line Legitimately, ya must have ALL the SOCs ever made. For some of us, That is economically Difficult. I cannot afford every SOC on the planet. I'll be extinct by that time... But I'll happily conform to completing my personal collection with the SOCs I mentioned above; because that's just my personal preference, and those are the robots who've had the most impact in my life. zozo-Magengar So Magengar, what other SOC are you gonna get other than Tetsujin 28 and Black Ox. Cool! My next SOC target will be the GX-02. ...someday, soooomedaaaaaay. ;D zozo-Magengar Good choice, but GX-02 it's a little expensive now. GX-02R will be readily available when it get reissue and is a better match with the GX-01R. But GX-02 is more of a collectible as it seems like it will not get another reissue and I like the Jet Scrander better on the GX-02 because it can retract and spring out. But the GX-02R had a better looking sculpt, slimmer look and chrome thighs. It'll be a tough choice and i'll look foward for your toyopsy of the one you choose.

Thanks for the link and info, bro. I'm lookin him up. After seeing comparisons between the GX-02 and the GX-02R, I like how the Scrander wings retract on the 02, but I don't like the dull finish on his supposedly "chrome" body parts... The GX-02R doesn't appear to have its Scrander wings Retractable (perhaps they fold, or whatever, I dunno) -but- I like his sculpt much better now that he has more chrome in his limbs. ...in This case, I'd prefer the Better sculpt over the better feature. My GX-01R has chrome limbs, and a metallic waist-- but then, that's just symbolic of Mazinger-Z being the lesser robot program* of the two. Still, I had to study up, and now I'm glad I started my SOC batch with a re-issue Maz. The first issues are nice; but I like the re-issues much better. Great Maz is a more advanced robot program, therefore his sculpt as the "GX-02R" would perfectly compliment my GX-01R. In much the same way the Great Mazinger robot in the Kaiser series is a further-advanced robot prototype of the Great Mazinger from its original '74 anime series. As for the " * " : For my personal entertainment, I interpret these robots as computer-written "programs" inside the bodies of mechas. All programs require the operation and maintanance of and by Humans "interface" or interact with them. Where as Kouji has to physically interface with Mazinger via the Pilder; Dr. Hell and Baron Ashura interface with their mechas via radiotransmission... kinda like "wifi". ;D zozo-Magengar

Question: The GX-12 (Venus) which came in your twin-pack, is that her original issue? or a Re-issue? That's a might good deal for two SOC's in one pack. The Pilder has a numenclature: PX-"something"... ...I'm tryin to research it to get a better look at it. I'd like to score it before it fades into obscurity. zozo-Magengar zozo-Magengar

Magengar, the Twin pack with GX-02R/GX-12 is now on sale at BBTS.com. 25% off, it's still less than 100$ with ground shipping. I got mines when also at BBTS during a 25% off sale but at the time they were sellling the twin pack at 94.99. So I ended up paying like 87 with shipping. Yeah the twin pack is also a reissue but if you are going to get most, if not all of the Mazinger characters in the SOC line, it might be a better deal to get the twin pack. Magengar the R at the end of the number doesn't mean that its a reissue. In the case of the two Maz figures, its stands for revision. GX-12 is a reissue of the original. Meaning, its from the same mold and nothing new. Sometimes the colors might be slightly different but essentially exactly the same as the old release, box and everything. GX-02 and GX-01 are the only two in the SOC lineup to get Revisions, new sculpt and new everything. Other SOC has the R, like GX-13R and GX-05R, but the R are for Repaints. GX-01R and GX-02R are constantly being reissue, meaning they just produce more for retail sales. But I don't think they will reissue GX-01 and GX-02 now.
