Opened my GX-41 on new year while sorting out my display cabinet, thinking its about time since I had this thing for more than 2 years in its shipping box. But the experience is quite disappointing, especially compared to the GX-63 General Franky I opened on Christmas. The quality is like night & day. GX-41 has something nice going. It looks great, collapsible wings are pretty cool, God Voice is cool...maybe thats about it. Nothing on mine is faulty (surprisingly), but the figure itself is quite fiddly (loose waist, droopy shoulder plates, accessories don't want to stay on the arms, arm rings that are tough to swap, legs collapse too easily, feet don't balance well with backpack wings, rough finish on chrome metal limbs...). Now I get why there were not so great comments on this a while back. I had bad experience with Megahouse RahXephon, hoping the SOC Reideen would be quite a bit better. Turn out it was better, but not by much. It just feel quite subpar when compare to good ones came before it. Even my original GX-01, 02, 04, 06 feel much more solid than this. Glad I got it for bargain price(around $50), but still I wish it was better. Reideen is one of the old school robot I like quite a bit, and this doesn't really do the character justice. Your just not displaying it right!

Your just not displaying it right! Looks like yours is too (front Reideen has legs collapsed). Glad you enjoyed it so much though. Wish I feel the same on mine.

Dont get me wrong, the figure itself is a pain in the butt, and actually I didnt enjoy it! I just display it in a better surrounding so I CAN enjoy it LOL.That is what I meant!
Not one of my favorites either but the mountain makes up for the toy itself. If you got the set with the mountain you may have liked it better. And yes I chose to use the extensions as it isnt very standable in certain poses.
I also have 2 medicom versions the gold one above and the regular one which i feel is the best Reideen figure.Sculpt on it rules.

Oh yeah, there is that Medicom. Was thinking it was the gold statue from the deluxe set, but then it was in the mountain already. Nice display for sure, and the Angel Diana Ace matched quite nicely.

I have both the DX and the Black versions, as well as SRC versions, and I do not have problems with the knees collapsing. The Black Reideen is actually a better figure and less finicky. It was like they fixed things on it. Is it a perfect SOC? Nope. But it looks amazing on the shelf.
I love my Medicom one too. I need to get a Gold one like Baron has.

My knees dont collapse at all,the legs are strong..I think AA that mpchi meant the weight of the robot cause it to fall backward as bad support from the legs,I just used the extension ones to get a good firm pose.I think that is why they chose those extenders as he does fall back due to nature of thedesign in certain poses,am I right mpchi?

Mine's knee collapse somewhat easy, but not so bad on its own weight. More like when I was posing some action poses, it collapsed when I didn't intend them to. (Grendizer & Gaiking don't have that issue as the 'click' needs a harder push to collapse). When wearing the backpack, Reideen doesn't balance very well (leans back without much help of the added toes in the front). Take off the backpack, then it stands fine. I am getting more used to it, but still find it a chore to switch accesories. The fists and rings don't come off easy (especially the full size bow). With a set accessories (don't intend to switch often)and no backpack, its a more stable figure that can handle some play & posing. Just that the God Bird is one of the more fun modes, but then I have to switch out all the hands and accessories again to do so, kind of a chore...
This one really need some dedication to enjoy. But it looks so nice... (love he face sculpt, especially the open mouth one).

Quoted from the Danguard Ace thread A quick note, I opened up my SOC reideens and found the arrow shafts starting to rust. I rubbed them down until I got rid of most of it, but it was strange that the rusting only appeared on one of the shafts, the one with the spiked head, while the other one with the regular arrow head was fine. The rusting shaft was present in both the regular and Fade in sets. Both of my sets have been stored in storage, with the other one never even removed from the tray. Very strange. Anyone else encounter this? Might be worth taking a look at your Reideens to make sure rusting hasn’t occurred. If it came off with just rubbing, you don't suppose it was just the same kind of tarnish that seems to plague Masterpiece Megatron?

Dang, when I saw this older thread bumped again, I thought perhaps we might be getting a reissue of this! GX-41S is still on my want list, but I'd still take a GX-41.

Does it have to be unopened? Considering you can get one on Mandy for like 120 bucks, I hardly see a reason for a reissue.

This one was really rust colored. Gold

Also got mine, Gx-41S at that cool price,, but that was two years ago. if u can still find one today, grab it immediately. U got a robot and a dio/base for that price, its very much worth it.

I got the regular version of GX-41 when it came out in 2008. I never really wanted the GX-41S until recently. I am now so happy to have it, I've purchased it used from a fellow collector. The head cave thing is awesome and I now finally have a white/non-chrome colored part robot!

BARON WEIRWULF.... No, I wish it does though Your couch clearly has an insufficient metal count to be considered "Chogokin"

I'm willing to bet that couch has plenty of hidden metal...
