It seems to be "almost a SOC". The packaging, accessories, diecast content and overall quality of the figure seem to indicate likewise.

But it doesn't have a GX number, I think it will be the same series and scale as the Max Factor GoDannar and GGGG and Mazinkaiser. It is also made by Konami which is a good indication it is not a SOC.

Got tis babe today at my local store. It cost me around USD200. According to the shop owner she only have 5 on tis figure cause she say its Konami first chogokin and afraid to buy more stock on tis. I'm damn lucky cause I'm the last one who get tis figure ;D
The box is big.... ard 46cm*35cm*10cm. The figure i can say not so heavy as Aoshima Mazinkaiser but who cares.... Tis gurren lagann really 'beautiful' . One more thing is the leg doesnt have any rachet as Aoshima figure.

Im from Malaysia, so very near to u la....... I bought it from a shop called XL shop www.xl-shop.com/ Its Malaysia biggest toy shop. If u coming to KL, u should pay a visit. I dun c any dust or glue smudges on the figure. Mine one is perfect. The color is detail and attractive cause konami make it mettalic red and yellow. One more thing, tis gurren lagann feet can bend just like fewture getter 1 n 2 feet. Cool hah? Tis feature we just cant find it in some Aoshima figure and Konami first chogokin have it. The ratchet thing is really just a dissapointment....

Thanks for the info.... will drop by the shop when in KL, the price you pay for this babe is ok, i have to order from HLJ plus shipping will cost be about 250USD as Singapore most shops in Singapore ( China Square Central in china town)will not bring in Konami stuff and that's very weird, They can bring in Studio half eye stuff but no Konami???

Well I got mine today aswell. First I gotta say I'm a little disapointed in the diecast content. The Majority of it seems to be in the feet, legs, and waist. Also I thought the drills were supposed to be diecast? Their all plastic. The only other diecast piece is the core drills handle. Which is nice but I would have prefered a plastic core drill with a light. That aside the figure looks fantastic. This was Konami's first attempt at making a gohkin it was certainly was a good one. I've been wanting a GL figure since the show came to a close and he certainly did'nt disapoint.
My only other grip beside the diecast content is they did'nt include the gigadrill. I could understand if they were making the other drills diecast but since they went all plastic there was no excuse in this.

Just got mine yesterday... nice paint job, expect more metal content for a high price of a 20cm mecha.... compare with Fewture Mazinger Z is like less than almost half of the weight.... I tried to place my fewture Getter 2 big drill on his hand and look not so bad... anyway in the anime Giga drill breaker's drill is bigger than Gurren Lagann himself ;D

ooo, if you could borg I'd really like to see a pic of that! And yeah I agree about the metal content. When I lifted him out the box I was certainly surprised at how light he was. My SOC maz who's smaller that him WEIGHS the same.

does anyone know why these toys have become super expensive all of a sudden? They started off fairly expensive but now the prices places are selling them for is out of control. I have never seen something like this before,,, what gives??
