Hey guys just got mine yesterday & I was just wondering, what are those two little clips for on Dygenguar's feet? For it to stand better? They're just part of the original design, sort of like the little grabby hooks on the bottom of the feet of the Nu Gundam or Sazabi. They have absolutely zero toy function other than accuracy. Hey thanks Quin for the info.

While on the horse, the pedals clip on the feet. those clips do nothing. I found them to be semi useful while as a unit himself. it helps stablize to stand better. Like the original poster said, it serve no purpose.

This might seem a stretch but now that I have the SRW duo, I can't help but think the SRW mecha designers might've drew some inspiration for Aussenseiter from japanese BW II series Mach Kick. Same horse alt mode, having locks of "hair" on the head & almost similar dark & subdued color scheme.

This is like the biggest SOC box ever, right? Man, I now just don't have shelf space for my robots... I now do not have enough room for my SOC boxes

Okay, I just put together mine--thanks to collectiondx.com (Josh, you rock! I wouldn't have been able to assemble mine without your video).
I am so glad that I had the two robots as their original un-transformed mode for a while... because there is no way in heck that I will transform it back after I spent an hour and a half turning one of them into the horse mode.
Quite frankly, I was not impressed with the two just being a robot. I kept saying to myself, WTF, this cost $300 (okay, my honey got this from angolz when it was under $200--pre shipping and so it was around $250 with mailing)? And I was even more underwhelmed while transforming it. But when the whole thing came together... Welll, that was when I realized that yeah, now I know why this is the most expensive SOC ever!
I like the fact that this is unlike anything in my collections. Shoot I don't have a horse; however, I do have a robot with skis (Xabungle). For those of you who don't have it... Get it. It will sure impress any skeptics who think we are crazy grown men collecting toys/robots.
Word to Bandai... Stop putting out more Mazingers and Getters and release more interesting ones like this!

Oh yeah, hands down, this is my TOTY. How come GX-46 is not on top of many lists?

the main reason to me why this toy isn't on top of many TOTY list is because of its relatively lack of playability. Once the horse mode is assembled, it's so flaky that I don't ever mess with it. Dygengar is cool and fun to pose but $300 is a lot for a fix posed horse and a cool robot. I do agree that it's hella good looking and has lots of shelf presence though. It's just unfortunate that the horse doesn't hold up very well without a stand.
I was going to put this as one of the 8 nominees (only 8 are allowed in a poll), but ended up putting other member's nominations ahead of my own preference. I was surprised that nobody nominated it at the time I was taking them.

Yeah, but GX-46 is far superior than most. It is really extraordinary.

It's too bad nobody nominated it back then. Hosting a TOTY thread is pretty difficult as everybody has different opinions and I cannot accommodate everybody's wishes, particularly when they weren't expressed before I setup the poll. You are still welcome to vote in the individual group TOTY, see post #1 in the TOTY thread.

Hi locidm. I do agree with some of the things you said. Yeah, I will most probably just look at GX-46 and not play with it. This is unfortunate because I like handling my SOC's. Still though, this robot or these robots have such magnificent presence that it far surpasses any robots that I've acquired in 2009.
By the way, can you please give me the link for the individual group TOTY.
Thank you.

I think the true reason that it's not given a lot of spotlight time is that the astronomically high price meant simply that a lot of people who would have enjoyed it didn't buy it, frankly. I wont lie, it IS damn expensive, and the horse transformed mode is a bit of a statue, but the overall quality of the feel and construction of the piece is unmistakable.
That said, I could have sworn it WAS on the TOTY poll. Maybe I'm confusing it with a different TOTY poll somewhere...

I think it should of been on the list but it wouldnt be my top choice
btw the horse is not fixed pose and i was able to place dygengaur on the horse without the stand for a few poses as shown in the pics i took.
The only thing i wish they did and for the price they should have was ad more leg articulation in both mechs! It just seems that it wouldnt of been difficult to add the extra articulation but they just chose not to, this makes a lot of poses (especially with aussensieter, not possible. Its a real bumber though.
as for toty I didnt even know there was a thread till two days ago........ i think a lot of us (me included) dont bother to look in threads that dont contain toys we are interested in. I do generally try to check out other threads but for the most part its the revo and gundam thread for me lol.

Though I consider GX-46 Dygenguar and Aussenseiter as my TOTY of 2009... I now agree with what most folk have said about this release. It's too fragile and it's not conducive to being handled. Since I put it together, I have just left it on the shelf. It's unfortunate because I love playing with my toys. However, it is gorgeous and impressive. So glad that I have it. It is very unique and it has presence. For those of you who do not have it... Get it.
