I never realized Aoshima Shin Getter's open fist used to hold the scythe/axe was 2 pieces and mine came apart. I tried using some rubber cement and some plastic model glue and that wasn't strong enough to hold up the scythe w/o falling apart. I would like to avoid using the stronger glues if possible to retain a little bit more flexibility... has this happened to anyone else?

I got my invoice for my 2nd item with SMJ, GX-45A Mazinger:
9,350 yen = auction ending price, ~0.7kg
1,710 yen = internal shipping -600 yen = shipping w/in Japan (stated in auction terms) ------------- 1,110 yen = shipping from SMJ Japan to SMJ USA
1,860 yen = EMS shipping from Japan direct to me for 0.7kg package -1,110 yen = shipping from SMJ Japan to SMJ USA -------------- 750 yen = saved, but shipping from SMJ USA to me is probably going to be around $8-$10 so pretty much breaks even.

Well, my shipping in Japan was ~$35.00 (I'm guessing). Shipping in the states was $11.65. I got no itemized charge for international shipping - I suppose it was rolled into the "Shipping in Japan" charge? I think that $35 is the total "internal shipping" which includes shipping from SMJ Japan storage to SMJ USA storage. I don't think the auction seller screwed you with an inflated shipping price, it's just that SMJ's shipping system just doesn't seem to actually save much money... at least for Chogokin sized packages. Going off my shipping costs, I'm guessing your shipping w/in Japan was probably something like $10 and shipping from SMJ Japan storage to SMJ USA storage was $25, totaling $35. My first item: 9,251 yen = auction ending price for GX-31V, ~1.5kg 2,860 yen = internal shipping -600 yen = shipping w/in Japan (stated in auction terms) ------------- 2,260 yen = shipping from SMJ Japan to SMJ USA 3,200 yen = EMS shipping from Japan direct to me for 1.5kg package -2,260 yen = shipping from SMJ Japan to SMJ USA -------------- 940 yen = saved? not really because, shipping from SMJ USA to me will probably be another $10-$15. SMJ's shipping system might be beneficial for certain size/weight items, but I'm not really sure what size/weight that is... it's not for 1.5kg items though, heh. Unfortunately, most Chogokins are going to be around 1kg-2kg. I'm still waiting for my invoice for another slightly smaller item so I'm hoping to get a better shipping rate, but I sorta doubt it. Fortunately, I'm pretty happy with their real time bidding system and their customer service has been pretty good so I'm not too disappointed even though I'm not really going to save any money.

Tokyobuyers's good too. But they usually charge you half of the item price first for deposit. With SMJ, its 5x multiplier give a huge benefit! $200 turn to ¥110.000 could u imagine your purchasing power!? ^^ Besides, they paid quickly to the seller & then sent our invoice next, which mean we can delay our bill up to ¥110.000 in 2-3 weeks ^^ TokyoBuyers asks for a 50% deposit? How much was the item? I don't recall TokyoBuyers ever asking me for a deposit and I've asked them to bid on items costing up to $350. I'm not sure what their policy is... maybe they don't require a deposit anymore because I've been using their service for a pretty long time.

They'll email an invoice in a few days that will include price+fees+internal shipping+shipping to the US. Once it's in the States, you can request it be sent to you. Then later they'll invoice you for the domestic shipping. Let me know what your fees, and shipping, and such are. I'm interested in seeing how your purchase went. Luckily, I read your posts about the shipping charges so I made sure to bid on items which had the Japanese domestic shipping rates clearly stated. I'm really curious how much the "internal shipping" to SMJ USA storage is going to add. The way SMJ describes it, they make it seem like this will save you money over shipping your items out of Japan directly to your door, so I'm hoping that's actually true. I'll post my shipping costs, etc. here when I get my stuff. Did they break down the cost of internal shipping for you?

wow... I wish my sister did that on my birth day last week!! how much is the Atami version going for now on the secondery market?... what is the best price we can find it for? I was able to get one from Yahoo! Japan Auctions for 9,350 yen + 600 yen domestic shipping, which comes out to be around $113. Proxy fees are $14.50 and I'm expecting international shipping to be around $30 so around $160 total... yikes, I didn't realize it was going to come out to be quite that much before adding it all up!

I think the MF Mazinkaiser looks awesome from some angles but terrible in others... I saw this picture a long time ago and decided I had to have it: The extending tube elbows which aren't shown in the picture are really ugly though.

I just won a GX-45A using SMJ and I'm wondering what happens next? Do they send me an invoice which includes "internal shipping" to SMJ USA storage? And do they just hold it there until i pay for domestic shipping after requesting it to be shipped to me?
I'm a long time user of TokyoBuyers and I'm very happy with their service, but I figured I'd try SMJ so I have an alternate proxy in case TB ever stops offering their services. SMJ's Automated Bidding system is also great for auctions that are about to end that TB may not be able to bid on in time. Unless shipping/storage system somehow comes out surprisingly cheap with SMJ, I think TB's usually comes out to be cheaper.

it's official the max gokin mazinkaiser is reedited for January Reedited? As in they are physically changing something OR is it just a plain ol' reissue? The product page says: "The powerful form and overwhelming power of the Mazinger has been kept true to it's original design" so I'm thinking it's a reissue.

I think the paint on the SOC Getter 1 prototype makes it look very plastic-ish... it almost looks like a Revoltech.

I tried searching but could find much info, but it seems like some people still prefer the older GX-02 over the GX-02R so I'm wondering what the differences are besides the the chrome legs.

Heh, if OP was actually putting these lists to good use and buying up even a 1/10 of all the stuff people have listed on these threads, I think it might be less irritating. It'd be nice to post some pics if this were the case... but somehow I doubt it. Out of curiosity, OP, how many Chogokins do you even own?
