I personally like the MAX Factory Mazinkaiser, but it's just personal preference. The Aoshima version is bigger and bulkier and I prefer the proportions of the MAX Factory. I think the MAX Factory version is supposed to be based on the Mazinkaiser design from the SRW games, while the Aoshima one is based on the anime.

Do the shortened Force Five and WAI versions of Grendizer/Getter/Gaiking/Danguard end abruptly in the middle of the series or do they cut out the episodes from the middle of the series?

But I have to say though, it is insanely boring. I loved the show as a kid, but good grief, after rewatching it again recently, it was a really slooooow and ungratifying show. Hearing that sorta kills my motivation to try to rewatch the show. I guess the reason I don't remember much from the show anymore is probably because it was pretty boring, haha. Since the show was never completed anyway, I will probably just skip it. Thanks for your input.

This is off topic, but does anyone know where I can buy/download English subbed/dubbed version of Danguard Ace? I remember watching English dubbed episodes as a kid in the PI, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Actually... isn't that the GNMA Regnant from Gundam 00 S2? Well, I guess you could say that, ...if you wanted to get hyper-technical about it. LOL... Regnant, Marmaduke, pancakes... pretty much all the same anyways right? ;D

Does anyone know if Max Factory will reply to questions in English or do our questions have to be in Japanese only?

locidm,
Yeah, you have to keep an eye out for whatever it is you're looking for. I think it took me a month of checking Yahoo! Japan before I found that one for 11,000 yen.
Unfortunately, you do generally have to pay for domestic shipping also but usually it's fairly cheap. For most items, i would say between $5-$10 for domestic shipping. When you factor in all the fees and shipping, a lot of times it's not worth it so you either have to get a really good deal or there's just something that you want that you can't get anywhere else. Spending $30 more on eBay is fine, I prefer to just use eBay too if I can to avoid the hassles, but there are definitely times when you can get really good deals on Yahoo! Japan.

In order to bid on Yahoo! Japan Auctions, you will most likely need a proxy service. I don't think you can bid directly unless you have a Japanese bank account. Search for yahoo japan auction proxy on Google and you will find plenty of proxy services that are willing to bid on items for you for a fee. I've been using Tokyobuyers as my proxy and they've always been great to deal with. tokyobuyers.blogspot.com/Basically, you just tell them how much I want to bid for the item and they take care of the rest. If they win the auction for you, you pay for the cost of the item plus their fees & shipping.

Check Yahoo! Japan Auctions. I was able to get a proxy to win this auction for me last year: page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n64912165I think I got really lucky that no one else bid, but it came out to be like $170 after shipping and proxy fees.

My real question would be, which version do you guys think will retain the most value down the line? The metallic version is supposed to be a "limited-edition" release according to HLJ so lower supply might mean higher value... but I'm not really sure how much more limited it is compared to the other two versions.

Only if you don't really care about anime accuracy... ;D I have the original color version and it looks awesome with the rest of my SOC and Aoshimas. Wouldn't trade it for the world! }D I think the metallic version is anime accurate also... cause it's barely metallic at all, hehe. I prefer the metallic version very slightly over the original version, but the original is nice too. Actually I think most people wouldn't be able to tell the metallic and original versions apart from 3 feet away anyway.

I'm not too picky as far as the toy having been played with and condition of the box, etc. so just seeing if anyone wants to sell one for cheaper. And another reason is if I buy one new from Angolz, I'm going to feel bad opening it and playing with it too much, heh... but yeah, otherwise I will probably just buy one from Angolz.

The chrome version is actually growing on me, but I think it might have looked a little better if it were a mix of silver painted and chrome rather than all chrome. I also wish my Metallic version looked a little more metallic like the picture on HLJ than it actually does... which is almost not-metallic at all.

Looking for a GX-43 Daimos. Opened box & played with is ok, as long as there are no paint chips and no loose joints, etc. Looking to pay < $130 (the current price including shipping on Angolz).

DAMN... I just ordered an original color version. How did they get more of these if they are sold out and not being reproduced? WHAT?!!! Where did you find the original color Danguard Ace at? That seems to be the most sought after version of the three. Can you provide the link? }D The original color Danguard Ace seems to still be readily available on eBay from the usual sellers like correlations, etc. Pricing is comparable or cheaper to HLJ, etc. I actually had a harder time tracking down a Metallic version.

I'm glad I went ahead and got a metallic version from eBay. There's a little bit too much chrome for me on that newest version.

What's Max Factory's previous track record on reissues? Have they come through with reissues in the past? I'm starting to cave in on buying a Mazinkaiser, but I know there were some small QC issues w/ the original issue... but I don't want to keep waiting for a reissue that may never come.
