I have the original version and it is an awesome piece of engineering. My favorite form is Getter 2 because it has elements of ShinGetter's 2 design with the large back thrusters. Makes him look retro and modern all at once.
The Renewal version has some nice new gimmicks but if I could score an original at a lower price I would since not that much is different.

Aoshima already released a 1/6 Terminator Endoskeleton a few years ago.

I think the climate where you live must be a huge factor with metal/plastic deterioration. I have one of the first issue GX-02 and have had no issues at all with rust, corrosion, or brittle plastic. Just looked it over and it's as mint as day one.
The GX-01 and GX-02 do have one thing going for them - they are some of the few SOC that will probably never be reissued.

I think this last US release also has some voice soundchips that none of the other versions had.

I have the 1901 Mazinger and the EX Gokin Getter 1 standing side by side in my display. They go together well design-wise and are actually the same height.

I can't read Italian, is it for sure or at least very likely that Aoshima is releasing a Shin Getter 2 ?

If the Megahouse is the one where the rider looked Microman-ish, it is transformable. There was a Dengeki hobby pic in both modes and it looked quite good.

LOL!!! yeah why they always do sissy poses on shows btw, got em on the net... i think it is also diecast. custom? or a painted prototype maybe? Manny, those are pictures of the Romando Action Stone Getter 1 that came out years ago when Shin Getter Last Day OVA was released. I have one and really like it, especially more so than the SOC Getter 1, because it was the only poseable OVA-style Getter available for a long while. But it is about 2 inches shorter than the Aoshima getters and made of polyresin.

I haven't bought an SOC since Eva-01 (which I later sold). I just wish they'd make a Dangard and Reideen so I can complete the Marvel Comics trio in the same medium. Right now I have the SOC Combattler posed with the Medicom MAF Reideen and the Romando vinyl kit Dangard because they are the closest in scale, but still a bit off.

They just released the last of the 15,000 run according to BBTS. So yes, they were staggered over a few years' span.

That's good information, thanks. I don't know, it may be licensed but then why change the name and numbers, etc. Also, there should still be a tatsunoko logo on it, like on the Henshin Robo boxed version. But it could be. I can take close ups of all the writing if anyone here reads Korean.
Regardless, it's a very cool and very rare piece!

The Cotobye has the engine block, it was just pushed up into the tank in that shot.
Also, the windscreen and rider's visor are a light smoke grey vs. the yellow on the Gakken. The Bike exhaust are flat grey vs. the Gakken's painted silver and the wheels are all black where the Gakken has the painted silver hubs.

Too bad it's yellowed up.. that's one of the rarest versions of that toy, being the original Japan issue with the firing missiles. The differences between it and all the subsequent Singapore issues are:
1) the firing missles 2) Bike marked Japan below the seat (rather than Sinagpore, duh) 3) the Rider's knees can actually bend to the full 90 degree position. The Singapore versions only clear to about 70 degrees before they start to split the Thigh plastic.
Here are all the versions:
1) 1st issue Japan (this one) 2) 1st issue Singapore - Box is similar to the Japan box but has English around the windows instead of the kanji. Missiles disabled on all Singapore versions 3) 2nd issue Singapore Gakken Henshin Robo Box 4) 3rd issue Singapore Blue Robotech Box labled "Excite" as the maker 5) 4th issue Singapore Orange Robotech Box labeld "Matchbox" as the maker 6) Korean Bootleg called 'Cotobye' that copies the 1st Japan issue with some noteable color differences. Working missile launchers as well.
Version 1 is pretty rare, being the oldest and for a non-export Japan domestic market
Version 5 is damn rare. It came out after Robotech had stopped airing and Harmony Gold was milking anything it could from the property. It had low distribution, and the Matchbox labeling makes it an oddity
Version 6 bootleg is mondo rare. I have seen 4 in 24 years of paying attention to this stuff.

my friend xstoys has most of those if not all of them Yeah, I've only seen a few pics of his collection but I have to say that Xstoys is probably the most prolific buyer of toys I have ever seen. This guy must spend some mad money just to keep up with all the toy lines he follows as I have seen him on other boards looking for Legendary Comicbook Heroes figures and the like, so he is quite diverse. I have most of the 1/55 bootlegs, just a few left to track down but they are the tough ones. If Xstoys has the Arabian Valk, I'd love to see some good front/back box pics as the one image I have is small.

I think the hardest valks to get are the 1/55 bootlegs. Not so much the Joons, but the other ones not even produced in Korea. For example, the Hergoss Walkyrie HF-1S released in France. They were manufactured in Macau. I just managed to get a boxed one of these and the build quality is actually on par with takatoku.
Other noteable tough-to-find boots:
- Arabian valkyrie seen in Iraq ( these are probably all blown to hell by now) - "Strike" Valkyrie - Bootleg Hikaru VF-1s released with no armor in standard sized box but using the Bandai strike valk box artwork. - Matsushiro VF-J Hikaru from western europe
