I wanted a SHE Dancouga Nova for a long time, but I would never pay more than $3500, for any figure. When you start seeing prices up past $5000, I could design and build my own for $5k, and even make a few of them.

I'll take offers on this as well. I won't go a lot lower, but I really would like to sell this to somebody who will appreciate it instead of somebody buying it and hoping to make a profit on it later on.

I'll accept offers on this. I would rather sell it to you guys than Ebay.

Hey guys, letting go of a couple of my favorite premium items to upgrade my Wacom Cintiq. Condition is perfect. The Ingram 1 is extremely rare to find, but the Ingram 2 is impossible, and I mean IMPOSSIBLE to find. A Japanese friend who is a collector guessed the price for this in Japan would be $1200. I'm asking $850.

I dig it. I'm on board. Love the fact that the legs of the lions don't look like twigs.

I don't know how well this would work with toys but one of our sales reps that smokes a lot uses Ozium spray. I barely notice any smoke smell on him and most of the time I don't smell anything at all.

I kind of like him, but I'm curious what people's thoughts are on this guy.

The scarf is pretty cool. But those thighs in silver? Blech!! Looks like an overweight bot. And I don't like the organic looking wings with the overly mecha body - such a contradiction. It would have been much more cohesive a toy if they were blades on solid metal frames, rather than looking like webbing on bones. I agree. It looks like too many designs mish-mashed together. I don't like the thick legs either. To me it looks like a design that doesn't have its own identity, just a bunch of other ideas crammed together.

I'll tell you what really surprised me on this was how the intricate pieces like the wiring and cables are so solidly attached. They've somehow clamped or tied them to the interior of the hull. Excellent.

With the diecast I'll bet Robocop will be stellar. Delays, delays... yep. The ED-209 was delayed for about two months. But they got it right. It was driving me crazy waiting for this, especially as people from other parts of the world were receiving theirs and putting up pics.

I've been playing with this for about a week now and I have to say that it is outright stunning, to the point of being surreal in its pursuit of model perfection. I have never seen a "toy" that is more immaculately crafted in it's attention to detail and quality in almost every sense. The material quality is top notch, the paint is spot on perfection, the articulation actually went beyond my expectations with several surprises, and the whole thing is ROCK SOLID sturdy construction. There is not the tiniest little bit of anything that even remotely feels like it didn't pass an absolutely stringent QC inspection. It's an amazing piece of work.
Oh, and even though I don't care about boxes generally, the box perfectly reflects the serious attention given this model as it is a piece of production craft all by itself. If and when Hot Toys ever makes another robot that I have any interest in, I will throw my money at them.

I think we've probably all paid a ridiculous amount for something at some point. And there have also been times that I thought I was paying a lot, which then turned out to be a really good deal within just a few months.
Having experience in the hobby helps, and the longer you are in this hobby, the more you get a feel for how price fluctuations work. It used to be really predictable and much more reasonable until Ebay opened it's doors to China, then suddenly we started seeing brand new figures coming out and Hong Kong sellers listing them with a $50 markup. That was kind of the end of the days when Ebay was a reasonable place to get good deals. Now it's a marketplace full of hucksters.

I could not see paying more than 2x what it released at and even then I would be struggling with myself. I probably could not do it. As an aside, Baron, I want THAT Mazinkaiser made from your signature! Isn't that the Mazinger SKL? They sell for a bundle now, if you can find one.

I think the trick is to avoid spur of the moment buys on things that aren't actually what you REALLY want. If you know what your actual grails are ahead of time and have an idea of a reasonable price is, the chances of buyers remorse or overpaying are lessened substantially.
With that said... For things I really want but missed out when they were released, I try to limit myself to a maximum of 2X the original price IF it's a contemporary toy. If it's vintage, or more than approximately 10 years old, then it's more a matter of knowing the market, the availability and how bad do I really want it.

The head needs some adjusting. Currently it gives the impression of a hat that is too big for its face. But i think the body is looking pretty good.

I don't think it's been released. Josh probably got a freebie from Threezero for doing the review. I think he mentioned that it was a "sneak peek".

That last one looks very Ultraman, but that's just a guess.
