This is an updated 3D image. I've been going through the whole design and fixing things I didn't quite like about it. Some parts have had a complete overhaul and others have only had the proportions adjusted. I was unhappy with how the shoulders looked when I built the figure in real life. Even though it may not be apparent in this image, the shoulders are significantly smaller. They are still relatively big, which is what I wanted to begin with, but I didn't want them as clunky as they were previously. I also wasn't happy with the previous missile hatch design on the shoulders. Other fixes include: Smaller feet and more boxed in shape Knee design has totally changed Torso and chest area is significantly different Changes I have not yet made: Head will be changing a bit the attached gun housing on the forearm will be significantly different Any comments/ suggestions are appreciated. I'm going to keep modifying this guy until I'm completely satisfied with the results. Unfortunately I've made molds for all the old designs and casted tons of parts, but truthfully I really enjoy the process and I can always reuse silicone from the old molds, so it's not that big of a deal to me to be back to revamping again. At this rate I should have my ideal figure by 2020! Lol.

That's nice. The dusty colors are great and with that slight victorious turn, it's a beauty.

$600 sounds about right. Any more than that and you start to price yourself out of the market. I'm thinking I'll do an auction and start it at $500 but have a buy it now for $600.
When I bought this I got the whole set for $125 and felt like I was paying way too much for it (which I was). I really never thought any of these figures would be worth more than maybe $100 each tops.

I'm thinking of putting this up on Ebay but I'm just curious what you guys would ask for it. It's the Fewture Mazinger 1901 AD 3 piece set that includes Mazinger, Garada and the girl figure (can't think of her name). It has the full nitro rander accessories etc.
I'm thinking of asking a fairly ridiculous price this because you never see this set, but what do you guys think would be the sweet spot for this set? I'm not selling it because I need the money, I'm just selling it because I know I can get a lot of money for it and I own all the separate figures as well, so I figure I might as well sell it sometime this year.

Let's hope so.

They got rejected. All of them. I'm going to ask if its because they need to be vector base. Whichimay need help if photoshop cant do vectors or if i just have to make the colors flat less gradient. Or if its the trademark itself or the design. If its still an out right no. I will email to mods here maybe if maybe they will want to create their own . Or i might inquire a local tshirt printer on how much onecost vs group by. Man i really want i high quality hoodie of voltes and daimos and mazinger. Other option is icould send it to design byhumans as a contest entry but they dont do hoodies only tshirts You will want to have these be vector. Photoshop has the basic vector pen tools and selection arrows, which should work fine for these designs. Look on the main toolbar about two thirds of the way down. If you just want to have these for yourself, there are a couple of places online where you can load up your design and they will make them for you one at a time as ordered, and if anybody else wants one of your designs they can order it and you get a commission. I wish I could remember the names of these places, but you should be able to find them fairly easily.

Despite everything still ongoing with people waiting on whether or not they will receive their order, this has to be a serious contender for the most notorious toy debacle in the history of this hobby based on the number of thread pages, interest both +/-. Goes to show that there is a definite fan base for Dairugger XV and a market for another manufacturer(starts with a B) to hopefully someday take the reins hopefully and put out their spin on this iconic character. Agreed, this was epic! This story will be remembered for decades to come.

I still wonder if Dave was involved in the manufacturing. Remember WAY back when he showed that half baked prototype that didn't have all the parts? If someone is just going to sell something, they don't have access to an unfinished prototype. Depending on your connections, making and designing a robot like this could bankrupt you if you are paying for it out of your own pocket.

LOL! Guess I took for granted that everyone knew what I was talking about since they are so common here in the south For those not in the know, "Truck Nuts" are chromed scrotoms w/ testicles (nut sacks, ball sacks, etc...) that hang off the trailer hitch of pickup trucks. They even have their own lock and key in case someone were to try to steal your nuts We have a quite a few of those around my area as well. The first time I saw these on a truck I thought "yeah ok, whatever" but once you see it for about the 50th time it turns into "I don't want to be in that club".

Nice review and comparison! I've decided to not even mess with any kind of fancy poses with the legs and just let the top carry do most of the action. To keep him from rolling for display I've been using that rubber tack stuff you buy at Wal-Mart in the office supplies area. It's sort of like a sticky silly putty normally used for tacking pictures or paper to a chalkboard or wall. Works good for this kind of thing.

Wow, the Garada is looking great, and that crown is amazing. How did you get into metal smithing to begin with?

Got two of these for a couple of six year old nephews. HUGE HIT! They aren't super hefty or extremely big, but very, very, very fun. Easy to combine too. I wish the cars had die cast. But really it's about the perfect toy for six year old boys who would like a combiner that they can do all by themselves. I'm so glad I went with these for their presents.

At one time both Max Factory and CMs were both going to release a Dancouga Nova. They both even had a prototype displayed at Toy shows.

We have a very *ahem* special relationship. I do all of the laundry and cleaning while (s)he entraps my soul into the outer dimensions of eternal chaos and psychotic entropy. It's the kind of love you just don't find everyday. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that. That's Epic! lol Bro, Thank you so much for everything, really! You and everyone who got involved in that Christmas project, have all really touched my heart! Thank you!!! zozo-mag I wish I could take more credit for the whole thing, but in all seriousness I did little more than making that part in the video. Antares, Baron, crpdiablos, bowhntr66, chachipower and everyone contributing were really the key players instrumental in making the whole thing happen. Antares came up with the initial idea and it just snowballed as everyone dog piled onto the idea. It was freaking fun as hell to be a part of, and I know that goes for everyone. You got targeted because everyone recognizes your impact here as such a key member that keeps this board a fun and cool place to be. I was just a drop in the bucket when it came to this little Christmas scheme, but I'm glad you like my part of the video. It was really fun to make!

Good info. I REALLY need to do something like this. Taking quality photos and having a well lit dedicated area is something that I always regret not having whenever I post up my own pics. My photos always suck because I haven't taken the time to create the right correctly lit, well positioned and correctly distanced environment for it.

Buy what YOU like. If GX-04s or Leopaldon looks good to you then go with it. If I was going to give any soc collecting advice it would be to not talk yourself into thinking you like something because its the new hot item and is getting a lot of discussion. This hobby can be tough to be discerning because of the interest and excitement that gets built up around a figure or a series, and it's easy to spend a lot of money and realize that you have figures you maybe shouldnt have purchased. This happens to all of us here and there, but the main thing is to just plan your purchases, because as others have said, this hobby isn't cheap, unfortunately.
