We will look for the pictures How strong are the prices on vintage chogokin? Ed chogokin prices are outrageous. i don't know if there is a price guide, but the prices seem to reflect that in the stores. however, unlike the u.s., there are many stores that buy used chogokins & the like for re-sale. similar to how we buy/sell used cds & dvds. you might see some exotic stuff, but mostly popular sentai or chogokin series that go un-noticed in america. i think you'll find more rare items on ebay or maybe in taiwan/hong kong. i didn't see any advantage to buying in japan vs. ebay or the u.s. you save on shipping, that's about it. i'm an anime fan, but i saw alot of anime that never gets released in the us for whatever reason. anime + video games is so part of their culture its unbelievable. its not uncommon to see a 50 yo woman playing nintendo ds on the subway or a 40+ business guy reading dragonball. i guess if i had to say one word for popularity among the japanese, its definitely GUNDAM! GUNDAM everything!

Thank you for raising my hopes up in scoring a good deal there bro...... I'm basically hoping to find rare Aoshima Getters or mazinkaiser..... or some rare but fairly priced (cheap hehe) Soul of Chogokins..... or my dream deal - vintage popy Voltes V all i can say is when it comes to collecting, the japanese are fearless when it comes to paying. whether its robots, vintage watches, jeans, etc. - they're willing to pay top $$$ and charge for it. there's no bargaining in japan. but i think you'll definitely find some rare stuff. the question is... how much?

since everything is expensive in japan, i think old vintage robots will be too! & there's no bargaining in japan. maybe i'll find some treasures in a used thrift shop.
i'll probably just get some hard to find SOC's like gx-04s, gx-23 (zambo3) & ideon

I'm going to JAPAN in March 2007.
I have to admit that selling my old collection of various chogokins has brought me back into this hobby. It helped me pay-off alot of student debt.
But I've always enjoyed anime anyways.
Any good finds to look for? Going to Akihabara and attending the Toy Fes. at Big City in Tokyo.
I'll take some pics of rare finds.

I'm interested in acquiring a Godmarz. Any owners can provide information on the differences? i.e. MADE IN JAPAN or Current market prices for the above items? I also noticed three different versions of the Japanese model: 1. white box not custom 2. grey box, appears to have no cover 3. green box - godaikin version and lastly, the custom version:

oops. wrong version. well i used to have the popy st version as well. your correct the legs, torso are all die-cast. i remember the hands could fire. the arms are plastic.
golion st ver., i can't comment. never had one. i always thought the dairugger st. ver looked better anyway
