They made enough but they are rare. They usually break very easily just like popy blue plastic does.
Last ones I know that sold that were mint in box complete did 20k and 24k USD. Maybe one at 30k too.
Prior to that there were a few at 4/6/10K USD in varying degrees of MIB condition.
I'm surprised it went so high but this one looks unused.

I got one also, I was lucky enough to get a preorder (just ordered my one unit) that didn't get cancelled.
I went on launch day to pick it up at the store but have been so busy at work I have not opened it yet. Hopefully I will open it this weekend. I am excited because I didn't get the NES mini and Super Nintendo is one of the consoles I didn't have growing up.

There are some guides floating around somewhere. Right now, you really just have to buy from known retailers, and some stuff is getting re-released or already has been re-released so you can avoid secondary market purchases (and avoid the counterfeits) for some stuff that's still in stock.
A lot of the counterfeits were coming out of China, if I remember correctly.
What products are you looking for?

As far as I know that's the one part that can't be straight swapped and repaired on crewzers. I have a spare one broken in the same manner.
Do you have a precision tool place near you or maybe ask around for a company that supplies screws and similar items.
There was some type of company near me that you used to be able to walk in with just about anything from washers to springs, screws or nits and the guy working would disappear into the warehouse and come back with your needed items. They have since closed but the place was amazing.

I don't think it is worth it. Not attacking those that do it but I feel like it is a huge racket and the people that grade stuff have money to blow, the people that buy the stuff even more so. I feel like they are in it for the money or for the quest for perfection/validation that they have the best piece (which as far as I know, AFA has never graded a figure 100).
You know how nice the particular piece you own is, high res pics wouldn't lie to a potential buyer either, so why do you need the self validation? (Not being mean, just trying to be straightforward).
I was somewhat forced to AFA grade a sealed vintage toy by an auctioneer that was selling high value items for me. He said he would pay the bill as he'd get a discount because they were sending in a large amount of items. Long story short, my toy graded well but it should have graded better, it didn't sell at auction and I got stuck with the full price bill. So I have a worthless toy in an expensive case that is now even more worthless. And it's a large toy as well so it weighs a TON now.
It is quite expensive to AFA grade large toys. While it will increase the value of your toy (there aren't too many AFA voltrons (any type) but they are out there), it will only really increase the value of you get an 85, 90 or 95 grade. Selling an 80 can be a push, anything less is nearly worthless even if it's a rare piece.
Also, AFA's cases are now vented but sealed. You can't ever open them. If you purely want cases for protection, I have heard that Oscar's Cases (google his site) are tremendous, can be UV resistant and are able to be made with a sliding panel. I believe you send him your measurements and he makes the case for you. There should be a lot of discussion about him on TFW2005. I had been thinking of looking into some of his cases for some high value vintage items I have, but haven't done that yet.

Did you try to bend the arm back at the elbow? The arm only has 90 degrees of forward movement at the elbow joint. It's common to see the small area that touches the elbow when the arm is straight chipped off.

Looks very cool but I'm glad I passed on xabungle for now. I wonder if they will do walker galliar and irongear.
I don't own any macross hi-metal either.
I'm going to try and stick with just the hi-metal Dougram line and hopefully it won't get too crazy. If it will consistently be two figures per year getting released, that's manageable.

If you don't get it now, it will just get more expensive after. Expect recolors to be made as well. Right now there are a few places with heavy preorder discounts so it may be worth it if you really want it.

Someone must want or like it if it was at least a decent figure, I'm not too familiar with it. I mean I feel like I'm the only one that likes Yamato GNUs (the SRC sized ones) and still seek certain ones out. CMs had a good following in their day, so I am sure people are still looking for things.

Did you check eBay to gauge prices? You could always use that as a guide and discount a little to give a deal to someone who wants it (but not enough to attract a reseller). For example, say it sells for $100 USD before shipping on eBay, and isn't super heavy or a giant box. You'd get about 86.50 after eBay and PayPal fees so you could offer here for 85 plus shipping within your country or say like 80 plus shipping for international.

Well, just from the translation, it's making me think it will be Gundam. They mention prototype color and a protagonist, Gundam is the only show I can recall where those descriptions would relate to the robot/mecha.

There is not much info aside what we already know. The 2nd paragraph is actually Chinese translation of the Japanese above it. Thanks, I'll clean up the translation post above. EDIT: Done. 🙂

Not sure if the full metal panic thing was an homage to dougram or not.
I know you are right, but your comment made me want to see how much difference there actually is between them.
I will say in general that although the dougram is smaller than Gundam, it's still pretty big (and I got that feeling the first time I watched the show and played with an original takara 1/72 dougram - the scale was translated very well in my opinion).
I looked up some numbers quick online. The meters I list are accurate, I rounded up or down to the nearest number on the conversion to feet for ease of typing.
The RX-78-2 (original mobile suit Gundam) is 18.5m (almost 61 feet tall) where a dougram is 9.63m (almost 32 feet tall).
Dougram however is still really large - it towers over a scopedog. A Red Shoulder Custom is 4.210m or about 14 feet tall (a regular scopedog is actually shorter, at 3.894m or about 12 feet tall, I think because they are counting the extra height of the missile launcher on the Red Shoulder.)
Dougram is also taller than G1 Optimus Prime who is noted as 6m or about 19 feet tall in the original cartoon.
Remember that a 1-story of a building is generally about 3m or 10 feet tall. So dougram is at least the height of a 3 story building, which for a piloted ground mech, is really large.
It's still smaller than (but closer to) the battroid mode of a VF-1 Valkyrie which is 12.68m or about 42 feet. I actually thought valkyries were the same height as dougram, interesting that they are a little taller.

I think they are missing one episode on YouTube but that's where I watch it also.
It's a great show. It came before Votoms so it is kind of in between Gundam and Votoms as far as realism, leaning more towards Votoms.
Votoms is pretty much the real robot pinnacle as far as the shows are concerned. Part of it is because Votoms is basically about Chirico getting set up and a much grittier, violent war, compared to the uprising/rebellion/fight for independence and Deon Casshim's deception in Dougram.

Are there 4 fold lines or 8? If it's around 20in. x 20in. or 20in. x 30in. then I suspect it is the typical poster included with the vintage 12" LP soundtracks in Japan, in this case a mazinger one.
The posters generally matched the characters or the record you were buying and were folded and included in the record packaging under the cover but placed on top of the sleeve.

I have never seen this before. Is it Pla-DX? Bill is probably familiar with it. It looks great and I'd love to see more pics also.
