they probably all were but I see more if it in Grendizer. A young alien from another planet must flee his destroyed world and he goes to earth and his adopted by a human father, he hides his identity but has great powers, when he is needed he quickly changes into his TRUE SELF and wears his real clothes and goes out to save the planet.
Superman in a way could be said to be inspired by Christianity.. but it was a American Jewish guy that came up with that one.. both superman and his father came from "the heavens", they both had the name "EL" in their names.. like "El Shaddai" the Father of the Canaanite Gods pantheon... "son of a god, savoir of mankind" kind of thing.. this goes all the way back to Hercules and Thor.. same basic story. They are basically "alternative religious mythos" that is why we remember them..

hand drawn has a lot more "feel" and atmosphere to it.. Go Nagai stuff ripped off a lot of Marvel Comics concepts but the morality tales were a lot clearer .. there is almost a "religious fable" or mythic quality to them. Grendizer is actually a "Superman" re-boot but with big robots. ha

I agree, I think Grendizer is the best followed by Getter Bobo G... I like G better than the first Getter Robo actually. but YOU GOT to watch Grendy at least, it sets the benchmark high.

ok jay, I went back and looked at both 52 and 53.. Hlpro got it right.. in 90% of the shots that have grendy and Gori together, you see that they are actually the same size but at the end of 53 there is the climax scene where gori has grendy in a headlock and Gori was drawn to be about twice the size of Grendy. I think this was done just for dramatic effect to make it look like Gori was winning but grendy flips backwards and kicks Gori off of him then they eventually run at each other and Grendy kills Gori with the double Harkken.. at that moment you see that Gori is back to his normal size .. you can see in the opening scene where grendy first meets Gori and Gori rips his arm off , just by the scale of the hands and arms and all that, plus an establishing shot, that Gori and Grendy are about the same height but Gori is real stocky compared to Grendy (in general)

posting photos is a nightmare here..I still cant figure out how to add a photo from my computer. Anyway, I got several screen shots from the episode with King Gori and his scale to grendizer is across the board. In some shots he is about the same height but a lot broader (almost a square) in other shots he is about twice the size as grendizer.. its another case of "he is as big as he has to be" or "he is as big as we want him to be" in each shot.

I don't think it will matter, if they did it they would mostly do it for the HLpro fans... the production numbers would be real low compared to SOC figures.. the fans would buy them up and any extras they made would be snapped up by "MAZINGER Z collectors" that buy every decent Mazinger diecast that comes out. It would just be Gattiger or ZMazinger just shaped like Mazinger Z.. it would be an easy sell figure, I think they should just go ahead and do it. IF THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE HINTING AT.. this is all conjecture at this point.
I'm starting to think that this isn't a Metaltech.. its probably something else. They are just showing King Gori, why would they start teasing another metaltech this far out? King Gori is probably a year away as it is..

looks like they measured by the top of the horn.. look how massive he is though.
That old Gori vinyl is hard to find, it got canned by the critics at the time of the release but try to find one for sale... I think I saw one come up for 200-300 a few years back.(I cant remember exactly but it was high) If you got one of those you are lucky.

I do.. but I cant confirm. If they are doing it, they haven't said anything to me about it.. I HOPE THEY DO A MAZ Z! That would be a good seller. There are lots of guys that will buy "any mazinger" and there are guys who will buy "any metaltech".. so, it would be sure to sell. I would love to have a HLpro sculpt Mazinger Z... Id LOVE IT!

I pre-ordered through the site I showed you. that is PBM USA direct. So, its the distributor himself selling through a small retail annex ..USA doesn't have a big retail outlet for figures like these. The figures should be in the US first and they should be here soon.. they are held up in "red tape" right now..

I am so glad they made this one public.. now I don't have to bite my tongue. I really cant believe they showed it. They been working on it for a while now. I love it. I also like how it is slightly "modernized" because the true anime version of this character would not make a good diecast figure I think.. But this one is going to be a great addition to Metaltech.
I don't know how tall he is but I would think that he is about the same as the top of Gin Gin's horn and Gattiger, but when you have such a massive chest and long arms, he is going to look massive next to MT01 I think..

I was under the impression that it was deleted but I could be wrong. I did not ask super specific questions about the effects lately. From talking to HLpro and understanding the mindset, if they felt that the end product of the effects would not be on par with industry competition, they would make the wise decision to delete the effects feature...

you are showing two different versions .. the blue and silver is the normal release.. the one in the box is the limited black/chrome release. The black/silver release is not pictured here.. that will be a few weeks later probably, just like with Gattiger.
I don't know anything about the effects parts that were shown in early prototypes. There is a possibility that they were unhappy with them and deleted them from the kits to keep retail price down. I don't see room in the packaging for them so I think it is safe to assume that the effects were abandoned, but there is a chance that there is a place for them on the other side of the Styrofoam box... but I wouldn't count on them.
