Yep... Bandai, and most japanese companies for that matter, have left it VERY clear multiple times that don't give a damn about whatever happens outside the island. -_-

I dare say that for an accessory, it's lookin' better than many main figures. That thing has THREE forms, and they all seem to be anime-accurate! It's outta my budget by a longshot, but I think it's worth what they ask for.

So, there's this mecha MMO I tried a while ago, called Cosmic Break: cosmicbreak.cyberstep.com/homeNotice all the breasts rubbing against the site's layout? Yeah, it wasn't always like that. The game does have plenty of Mechs to play as (they show up everywhere on the site apart from the frontpage), and it features some GREAT robot customization. Like, you can customize the mechs' TEXTURE FILES! And the gameplay isn't bad at all, it's a TPS action MMO that's mostly PvP, but features a fair amount of PvE instances as well. Too bad it quickly turned into Pay-To-Win, with crap such as putting the mech that was meant to be the game's mascot behind a paywall (you just DON'T DO THAT!!!). It's not as bad if you're like me and enjoy PvE a bit more, but still. So... turns out the sequel's in the works, and it's right now on Kickstarter: / You might notice something odd from that seems to be a sequel to a mecha-themed game... particularly the lack of mecha, or at least the lack of info on them. Personally I think the project is already doomed, since at the time of this post they're 1/3 of the time in, and they're not even at 1/3 of the base goal. Take into account that the mid 10 days are the dead period of about any campaign, and... yeah, things don't look too good. Been a part of enough KS campaigns (as staff, not a mere backer) to see where this is going. So why am I sharing this? Who knows, every lil' bit helps, and while I don't feel sorry to see the campaign fail due to serious marketing mistakes (their fault for being a bunch of idiots), at the same time the game itself looks neat, and seems to include much of what made the first game good in it's core (apart from the Paywall bullcrap), including the mecha customization (CUSTOMIZABLE TEXTURES!!!). I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for the sake of the product itself, that's all. So, there ye go. And give a go at the first game if ye feel like it... and can get past the sea of unnecessary "moe kawaii sugoi" and frustrating pay-to-win tactics.

Oh, how thy pain is shareth throughouteth thiseth forumeth... ok, enough of this butcherish. Yeah, being an anime fan kinda blows sometimes, SPECIALLY a super robot anime fan. Most of the time people get to know I like anime, their mindset immediately shifts towards tentacle hentai. Supposedly to label ME as a pervert, when they're the ones thinking about it... -_- Luckily, the anime community here in Portugal is kind of one big family (everyone knows one another, and whatnot), which allowed me to get in touch with a group of mecha nuts like myself. But apart from it, yeah, most only know about Code Geass and whatever Gainax throws out the door. Evangelion isn't mecha, goddammit!

(dammit, got ninja'd! ) That's not a sketch, it's a 3D model, and looks pretty prototype-ready to me. As an artist, I find that deminishing remark more offensive that someone showing excitement with an image tag, overused as it may be. dude read above post maybe then u will see what I mean your new here and don't have a grasp. Fair enough. You posted before I pressed "Create Post", hence the small edit I put on my previous post.

my top 5 Daimos - drama, love story, awesome fight scenes. Patlabor - political drama, comedy, most realistic, lovable cast, Noa Dual: A Parallel Trouble Adventure - its a Tenchi + Evangelion, comedy, harem, a slice of life ( i can watch this many times & never tired of it) Vision of Escaflowne - epic, music, beautiful fantasy world + knight mechas, love story, comedy Macross Series - transforming jets, love story, TOYS +1 to Patlabor. I KNEW I forgot to put something on that list of mine! I liked the world from Escaflowne... too bad the Mary Sue protagonist kinda ruined it for me. -_-

Oh, me and the seller have been keeping in touch, he had a couple GGG artbooks I wanted to yoink as well (at a more fair price than that GFG, unfortunately, but still XD).
Now, at first glance it does look like the pegs go directly, but they physically can't reach the sockets, as you can see by the gap from the second photo. I didn't have Stealth Gao touch the back completely to make it easier to see on the photo, but that's about as close at it gets. It heavily suggests that an auxiliary piece is necessary. Further evidence of this the distance between the holes on the torso, which isn't the same as the distance between the pegs on StealthGao.
Thanks in advance for your time!

Anyways, this topic has gone on for too long in a Mazinkaiser thread, so i'll leave it with this: We can agree on one thing Baron, and that's that waiting for a company to make a figure/model you want really sucks - where's my MG Leo Bandai?!
This is true![/quote] Wait a tad for 3D printing to get more viable. We'll all be flipping the bird at Bandai, not with rage, but with PRIDE!

Go Nagai is a very small part of the classic super Robots,72-84 there are many more franchises,Sunrise Studios,Tatsunoku, and many many other non Go Nagai robots. The exact same can be said about Okawara, who designs mecha for pretty much everything. Or even Katoki (arguably the guy responsible for the current trend of making all mechs with skinny waists and long-ass legs) when he's not asked to clone Gundam Unicorn for the #1847583th time. Now, when I picked on Go Nagai, I meant it merely as an example. I dig many of his designs, Mazinger itself included! Now, picking on a line of robots that are meant to look similar by design, when that tends to happen pretty much anywhere, that's not really fair, is it? It's like saying Ferraris are bland because they're all red. Want a Gundam show with different Gundams? G Gundam has you covered.

3D printing is something I've had my eyes on fir a fair bit. Too big for my pocket, unfortunately, so in the short term I might take a look at Shapeways or something of the sort.
And TMZ's piece of work there is lookin' good!

Again, if I may pop-up and defend it a little, personally I tend to care more about variation in silhouette rather than just colors. With that in mind, Go Nagai isn't all THAT inventive on his main mechs either, is he? Change the heads and chest plating a tad, boom, you're done. Entirely new robot!
Now, granted, that's also true for most Gundams. But that's partially exactly why they're Gundams. One's supposed to look at it and immediately recognize it as a Gundam. Traits like white as the main color, the chest exhausts, the samurai-like helmet with the v-fin slapped in... It's a matter of branding, in the same way most cars retain their basic aesthetic traits as new models come in. Take the main mechs from each individual Gundam show, and you'll be seeing plenty of differences, even if white and blue are the dominant colors.
IMO, the bigger problem of the Gundam franchise isn't as much with individual designs, but with variants. I picked on Zakus before, but let's face it, how many Zaku recolors and equipment adjustments does a guy really need?! Regular Zaku, Zaku Char Custom, Zaku Minelayer, Zaku Sniper, Zaku Veterinary... seriously?! I'm fine that variants exist, but was Zeon's budget THAT much in the gutter?!

Sorry to pick on Gundam guys, but ever see a collection of JUST gundam? Its horribly bland! If I may defend it a tad, the problem's not exactly with the franchise, there's plenty of variety in mech designs, specially nowadays (if you like the designs or not, that's another subject). The problem's with the shmucks that keep buying every Zaku and RX-78-2 that gets released, giving Bandai reasons to release MORE Zakus and RX-78-2s! It's the snowball effect. Kinda like those Mazinkaisers. People keep buyin'em, so they keep makin'em. I know it's easier said than done, but the only way to let 'em know you want something different is to stop buying the same thing over and over again.
