Don't you think this'd be more appropriate for general discussion?

Alot of classics...but, for recent times, I have to give a nod to Godannar.

I agree, this thread belongs in general discussion.
But, I'll try to answer the OP's question anyway. My favourite robot show? I haven't seen many. Of the ones I saw, I really enjoyed Zambot 3 (revolutionary approach to the subject matter), Combat Mecha Xabungle (awesome fights and 4th-wall breaking ahoy), Shin Getter Robo: The Last Day of the World (weird/not-that-great story, but the fights are just epic) and Gurren Lagann (talking about epic...)

the reason why I posted this here, is because at least for me, when I get into the show, its makes me want to collect the figures even more... i. trying to watch the best shows so i can gain a greater appreciation for their collectibles. so in my mind its related.
i do understand the thread being misplaced however, but you guys have a thread about a super robot book, so i didn't think discussing the actual source material would be so bad. could this be moved? thanks.

Yeah, I understand why you did so. Don't worry too much, it's not like we'll kill you because you misplaced a thread happens to everyone, sooner or later. I watch robot shows for the same reason, more or less. To me, a show is complementary to its figures.

I like Zambot 3 as well along with taiyo no shisha Tetsujin 28 (1980s tetsujin/gigantor). Dangard Ace wasn't too bad. And I really like Gold Lightan.
Still working on gaiking so don't have an opinion yet. I only have Voltes in the Filipino/English version and it's kind of getting to me...in the same way I can't stand to watch the American version of voltron anymore.

i just finished the robot romance trilogy by finishing Voltes V a good show even with the similarity with his older brother Combattler V
hmmmm i have watched alot of Robots shows
i mostly enjoy (not in order)
Mazinger Z Ufo Robo Grendizer Tosho Daimos Combattler V Tetsujin 28 (GX-44) i didnt like the old one Saber Rider Ninja Robots (Didnt complete it but it was good so i will watch it some day) Albegas Golion (i cant say i really enjoyed it as much as i enjoyed it when i was a kid and i watched the Japanese version) Astro Ganger Voltes V Mazinkaiser Mazinker SKL Great Mazinger (a disappointment specially the last episodes i force my self to watch it just to complete the Mazinger saga) Shin Mazinger Z
the most show i really enjoyed was Daimos i was watching like 3 or 4 episode per day lol the stroy was so good and there was so many things going on, its the best story in the Robot Romance trilogy
but there is shows i want to watch

Btw if u want recommendation.. if u havent watched it..try Code Geass, its a recent anime but i think 3 to 4 episode a day will not be enough hehe Also if u needed a break and want something in-between.. try Megazone 23. Its only 2 episodes. (the third one is a different plot.)

But if you're watching Code Geass, I doubt you're doing so for the robots, or the robot fights for that matter. The best things Code Geass has to offer are its intricate plot and its characters. Robots are your average modern sci-fi-esque small realistic mechas, CGI everywhere, etc. etc. I recommend watching Code Geass. But certainly not for the robots. The story is the meat of the show.
