Maybe you should add those Korean knockoffs like Super Mazinger 3, Space Gandam and such. In a separate list or something. So that folks like S_Gokin and others don't get surprised by it. Yeah, call it something like "The Forbidden Archives - Watch at your own risk".

Well, I haven't watched as many Super Robot anime as I should, but my top 3 would be: 3 - Dai-Guard: Giant robots with bureocracy... works better than it sounds! Personally I find it to be Evangelion without the overly pretentious symbolisms. And yes... DAT ROCKET PUNCH!!! Doesn't come back? Who cares, it's still awesome! A good way to put it is "A Real Robot in a Super Robot setting". 2: G Gundam: They clearly didn't give a damn when making this... and that's why I love it. Also shows some neat designs from Hajime Katoki before he started turning all of his mechs into clones of Gundam Unicorn. 1: GaoGaiGar (along with GGG FINAL): A mecha series where they bother to explain how can they perform a gattai without the enemy interfering? SOLD! Along with other factors like the great gattai sequences and some neat thought on how to handle many super-robot tropes, this is certainly my personal favourite super robot show, so far! Sure, it's mostly a "monster of the week", but at least it's a good one at that. Quick thoughts on some more (some real robot ones thrown in as well, just because): Code Geass: I liked it overall, but there were plenty of IMO unnecessary segments, including the ending, that kinda held it back for me. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Liked it a lot when I first saw it... but then I watched GGG, and now TTGL feels like a cheap knock-off of it on many aspects. And I don't believe Tengen Toppa is really as big as it seems in the show. XD Zegapain: Surprisingly pleasant, it's like The Matrix with mecha. Definately worth a look. It's more real-robot than super, but screw it. Overman King Gainer: It's Tomino (the creator of Gundam) trying to pull a Studio Ghibli. It's a cute one. And the main mech has dreadlocks... a mech with dreadlocks! DREADLOCKS! Linebarrels of Iron:Decent action, a cute plot with plenty of funny moments, and while the fanservice is pretty high, it's not to the point of making me wanna quit. Unlike... Godannar: Watched HALF of the first episode, and called it quits. If I wanna see female body parts bouncing all across my screen, I already have PLENTY of that all over the internet. It's a shame, since the main mech does look pretty badass. Oh... and I diged Beast Wars! The animation is dreadful by today's standards, but I found it to be pretty decent. I'll take it over the Michael Bay movies any day, at least.

I see a Super Robot Taisen Orginal Generations mecha there. The layered legs seem to be inspired by the Huckebein/Exbein series. I can see that too, now that you mentioned it. Meh, these Katoki-ish designs tend to blend around too much. Like it's been said, it's an aesthetic style that became generic pretty quick, most likely due to saturation. I can like some of them, like the ultra-badass (IMO) Huckebein Boxer, but overall... meh. Just... meh.

I'd like to know how much will this be, just out of curiosity. I'm aiming for at least $100. IF it does cost that much, I don't give a damn about anime accuracy, gimme something that MOVES, dangit!
With that in mind, that D-Style of Getter-1 (also from Koto, and already out) suddenly became more attractive...

Well the Tetsujin 28 & Tetsujin 28 FX are two different robots. So they are meant to look that different even though they are under the same family. This Raideen however every time I look at it, I see Gravion. Which is not even related to Raideen. Very true. At least Tetsujin FX has an excuse. This doesn't. OH! And, whenever I see modern robot toys all sculpted in this familiar mech design it gives me the impression that this look is nothing more than a copy-cat trend to attract today's anime fans to the hobby. Anime fans aren't stupid. They may spend tons of money here, but they aren't stupid. They can see thru this. I beg to differ. Masses will always be dumb and manipulable. It's exactly because people keep throwing money at it that they keep making those designs. It's a fad that'll last as long as profit keeps comin'.

If it's a model kit, then it needed to be done. Currently we only have a D-Style. Too bad that, being from Kotobukiya, it'll be discontinued after a whole 2 weeks... Ok but this is not the model section,so thats why im confused, also why Kotobikuya rings no bells here. I'm as confused as you are. Googling for "Getter kit Kotobukiya" only shows the D-Style with no news refering to this dude, but the way this thread is going, makes it look like it's a kit and not a figure. I dunno.

Is this some sh*t revoltech? OOOh another Red Getter so exciting! NOT!! howabout some creativity and pick some robots that need to be done still. If it's a model kit, then it needed to be done. Well... I'm a complete stranger to Raideen, I might pick it up one of these days. But on design alone, I think reVolVer nailed it. It's the "Michael Bay's Transformers Syndrome". Let's call it MiBaTraS, or something. I dunno. No matter how ye wanna call it, it's the same as Transformers: it's like a guy picked up the toy, threw it against the wall, fragmenting it into a thousand pieces, and then tried to put it back together with crazy glue. Ta-Dah, Bayfied design! With that said, I don't completely hate the design on it's own. It's just too different from the source material, along with needless detailing. Reminds me of this: www.internationalhero.co.uk/t/tetsujin.jpgs918.photobucket.com/user/1988senna/media/5.jpg.htmlBecause EXTREEEEEEEME!!!11ONE "Designed by Tetsuya Nomura" There, now where's my cookie?!

I only got to know about this SoC now (I'm more into kits than figures and toys, overall), and... my god... it's glorious! The anime-accurate combining... the fully-articulated hands... the friggin' HIDRAULICS on the Dividing Driver!.. ... and then I looked at the price. DANGIT, guess that's why they call it SOUL of Chogokin! That's how much it costs. I'll stick to my SRC GGG for the time being. A veeeeeeeery long time being... XD If you go back to earlier in this thread when we found out how much it would cost, I was the same as you - I saw the pricetag and immediately wrote GGG off as a toy I could never justify paying for.
Long story short, I bought it. I've seen video after video that has done nothing but praise GGG's accuracy and engineering. Add Bandai's official tutorial video to it, and I realized that I would forever regret not getting it at retail price while I still could.
Oh, I DO think it's worth what they ask for it, with all the cool stuff it has, along with how big that thing is!... I just don't have the money for it, period. XD I guess I'll keep waiting for Kotobukiya (most likely) to announce a non-SD kit of this guy. Like I already mentioned on another thread, there's one by Aoshima (discontinued), but it's just terrible. The kind that needs modding just so the parts don't fall off everytime you walk nearby it.

Well, Koto already made a D-Style of this dude, so it's not that big a stretch to see a full-size one.
With that in mind... Koto, can we also see a decent full-sized Gaogaigar kit? Pretty please? The one from Aoshima kinda sucked... hard. Really hard.

Ok, first of all, this is my first thread here, so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place! Still learning the ropes, and whatnot. Second, I'm aware that what I'll ask for might be one HELL of a long shot... but here goes. So here's the thing: I happened to get my hands on a Yujin DX GaoFighGar that some dude was selling online for 10 euros (about $13 to those in the US). Scheme or no scheme, it was well worth a shot for the money spent. Might as well put up a couple pictures: Everybody lined up:prntscr.com/62d89bClose-ups of Phantom Gao, DrillGao II, LinerGaoII and StealthGao III, respectively:prntscr.com/62d9nvprntscr.com/62daeqprntscr.com/62datfprntscr.com/62daznGaoFar:prntscr.com/62dewjprntscr.com/62df3eFAINARU FYUUUUUJION!!!prntscr.com/62cme9prntscr.com/62cmqeAnd just because I'm having fun:prntscr.com/62dpx1"Ok, that's really nice... so what's the problem?!"As you can see, the thing has all the parts to form PhantomGao, GaoFar, the individual GaoMachines... but things get a tad complicated when it comes to doing a Final Fusion. It might look just fine in the pictures, but that's because I've put some double-sided tape so StealthGao hangs in there: prntscr.com/62cpey gotta MacGyver it! prntscr.com/61w3jkprntscr.com/61w4mpWhile at first glance the two protrusions under StealthGao look like they fit on GaoFar's back, they actually can't be reached directly, suggesting an additional piece should go between them. Of which I have ZERO info of. Can't find any image of either the piece, or of a manual that might've come included with the figure (this one has no box or anything). The seller really doesn't know much about the figure (if he did it wouldn't have been this cheap), so for all he knows he could have said part lying around. SO! What I need is:a) Someone who has this figure to show me a photo of said part, so I can show the seller. b) Someone to let me know how much of a dumb*** I am for not knowing how this thing actually fits. And that's it. In advance, I appreciate ye for your pacience, and... let's see if this goes anywhere. Cheers! TLDR version:Missing piece on this figure, HALP PLZ!!! prntscr.com/61w3jkprntscr.com/61w4mp

AKAUNTO UNROKU!!! HASHIN!!!
Ok, enough engrish for now. Mecha nut like many, here! Imma be blunt, I've registered here primarily because I need a lil' help with a figure of mine and this seemed like a good place to ask around, BUT! It also looks like a nice place to BE around, so... there.
Also, if anybody wants any mecha artwork done, I got a link to my deviantart on my profile, so there's that as well. Yep... No shame! XD
