Just got this and it's fantastic. Really love the look of these Infinity designs. My favorite part of this one is the ridiculously oversized Drill Pressure Punch! No real surprises here otherwise if you have the Mazinger. Feels really solid, joints are tight, flawless paint. Excellent all around. And compared to the recent model kit....

If I had to guess, I'd say he is on the small side to fit him in the Spazer and have all the gimmicks work. If he was the same size as Mazinkaiser that spazer would be pretty large and drive up the cost more. Looking forward to watching the reviews on this one.

Does RIOBOT tend to do a lot of straight reissues?

The first damaged Maz is still abundantly available. You can get it on amazon for $160 shipped. These web exclusives are getting to be a bit of a joke. Even the gx-70SP is languishing on eBay and yahoo at $200.

To those out there that have this, just a friendly reminder to polish that chrome! Those lion legs cloud up real quick. Gotta watch em.

I guess the original didn't have the chrome. Oh well, hard to keep track of so many Mazingers.

I love the 40th anniversary GX01R (In fact I like it enough to skip the DC Line). This one have chrome while the anniversary one has greyish there. That's the only difference I could find... But didn't the original GX-01 have the chrome? And you can get the original really cheap on eBay or amazon. Just seems like an odd re-release.

I got this about a week ago and have to say it is pretty nice. I usually steer clear of Evolution Toys but I decided to take a chance on this one. Lots of cool gimmicks and quality is good. Only gripes are that they didn't put a G-5 logo on the bottom side of the wing and they didn't paint the top missile. It's also pretty expensive for what you get. But there aren't a lot of Phoenix toys out there so go for it if you can. This seems to be the best one out there right now.

This craziness is bound to drive the aftermarket prices even further toward the moon. Don't be surprised to see this thing sell for well over 1k by the end of the year.

Personally, I've been avoiding AmiAmi for a while now. Their cancellation policy and tendency to overcharge for shipping has turned me away. Not to mention the customer service issues people on this board have had with them.

Would I need to create a new Amazon account? Separate from my US one?

NY is notorious for lowering their prices then overcharging shipping. Don't be surprised if they charge 10000 yen to ship. Holding out for Eknight here.

This is a much appreciated shout out to older collectors that grew up with this stuff. It harkens back to the Popy days when they used to have crazy gimmicks that didn't necessarily make sense, but were lots of fun. Unfortunately, it's doubtful that any of these weapons will actually fire anything or function like the vintage stuff. Probably just another accessory people can use to pose, take pictures and share on instabook and facegram. Kinda sad actually if thats the case.

Just managed to get this off a Yahoo Japan auction for 15500 yen. Though after fees and shipping it will probably be a lot more. Maybe I'll just ship in SAL.

Bandai tricked all retailers AND collectors by pretending it's a limited Tamashii event release, then decide to sell it to web... Event release : 27.800 yen Web release : 17800 Ya, 10k Yen difference. Wonder what is the run quantity of this item... I feel like they have been doing this with a lot of their so called "exclusives" lately. Still waiting for the price to drop down on this one a bit. In related news, BBTS is looking to get $250 for this.
