After getting myself a little more financially stable, I just bought mine for 449 CAD shipped(I HATE the Canadian dollar right now...). On the plus side, the ebay seller is located in Canada so I don't have to worry about any customs fees, and it was only opened to inspect it. Glad you stabilized and glad you were able to get it. This thing is absolutely Amazing.

Awesome review, I like your setup for video production. It was very honest and amazing quality vid, enjoyed it lots. I think you're the first all English SOC Daizyujin reviewer. Congratulations.

One thing to clear up is that instead of a sleeve, it's a totally separate box for the overseas edition. It was confirmed in a eBay listing where the seller got a early edition from NYCC. And I bet just like with the sh figuarts rangers, the mmpr packaging will fetch higher prices than the Japanese box.

How likely do you guys think that dragon Caesar is happening? If so, what time frame seems reasonable? Id like to think that since we re seeing a release of dragonzord minipla, bandai is testing the waters for a possible SOC version. Then again, they don't need much testing since it's well know the dragonzord is among the most desired mechas out there.

The poncho doesn't fit snug and the excessive diecast on the feet weighs heavily on the Daizyujin. I don't wanna leave it on too long because it was putting too much pressure on the knees. This concerns me. If/when we do get a proper SOC Dragon Caesar he won't be able to handle this mode due to the extra weight. I think it's because the legacy dragonzord diecast distribution wasn't properly planned to incorporate transformation. I'm sure a SOC dragon Caesar would be more thoughtful about this aspect ( maybe diecast only on the claws instead of the whole foot)

You guys are the worst ๐ thanks for the recommendations, I'm looking forward to this new addiction, student loans permitting. Man and I thought I was "done" collecting mecha with gx-72. To be fair, the only stuff I had is the legacy power rangers stuff so this SOC seems that much greater.
Great photos, very inspiring!

Thought so as well! I can live with that I mean GaoGaiGar didn't had one but still an amazing figure. Can see that you are enjoying with it! Good stuff Guys I've been playing with this thing for almost 2 hours straight and am not tired. I now fully realize what a SOC is and don't think I can go back. I am having a blast transforming and posing it, I have really been missing out. Xephon mentioned this SOC has relatively more playability than other releases, would you say voltron has a similar 'playability quotient'? What about gaogaigar and baikanfu?

Ask and you shall receive. The poncho doesn't fit snug and the excessive diecast on the feet weighs heavily on the Daizyujin. I don't wanna leave it on too long because it was putting too much pressure on the knees. Bonus, I attempted the dragonzord battle mode but the pegs on dz are too short and won't reach into he ports on Sabertooth and triceratops.

Mine is in customs here in Los Angeles. Daizyujin better not get frisked ๐ข You have been looking forward to this figure since day one! Congrats man! Take some pics. Hopefully no customs issue. Thank you brother, well I just got an update that Daizyujin left customs! Might be getting him tomorrow, am so excited! And it has been a long road, in fact I joined these boards because Daizyujin was the only reason I found out about he Soul Of Chogokin line. In fact it won't be the last Chogokin I get, already I'm building my list. I am beyond ready to receive my favorite mecha of all time. It's interesting to gage reactions from here and other boards to SOC Daizyujin. On the one hand I think some expected the absolute perfect toy of the character becaus voltron was so good, and thus became disappointed. I've heard people say that legacy offers more than SOC, which I cannot understand. Until I have the toy in hand, I won't confirm this but SOC seems to be the best Combination of a legacy megazord (diecast and proportions) with playability of the old dx. I wonder if Daizyujin would've come out before Voltron, the situation would be reverse. As xephon pointed out, if you want total accuracy the giant version was available. As for me, this is the definitive megazord because it Gave me what I really wanted: highly detailed, posable dinozords, especially the trex. The Daizyujin itself was secondary, so I'm beyond thrilled. However, even the doc Daizyujin has great looking proportions and is highly articulated which is enough to consider it the ultimate version of the toy. Looking back at the suit the head looks too big, and the size on SOC makes him look more like a giant. Congrats to those that have already gotten it ( I'm so jealous!) and soon I'll be joining in the fun.
