I just cannot wait to pay for my SoC Daizyujin. Period. Like seriously,I hate keeping extra money only to keep myself from spending it via impulse. I'll confess something. I went ahead and got two toys I've been itching to get on the meantime our dear Daizyujin gets here: the original titanus and the legacy tigerzord. It feels like forever! But I got my amazon preorder and hopefully they'll send the US version. I still think the US packaging is an actual box π

I got the impression from the guy in the interview that bandai is REALLY considering releasing the dragonzord, as in more than likely. He emphasized they want to do more Sentai products. No likelihood if re releasing the mmpr figuarts any time soon though π

Anyone else think this is gonna be an actual package redesign and not a sleeve?

So HobbyLink Japan has confirmed the release date is 4/30. hlj.com/product/BANN05218I just really want to pay off my SoC Daizyujin. Hate having to watch how much I spend before then. Ever time that buyers remorse starts bugging you, think of the joy of premium paint and articulation. π

Why not refurbish Voltron supplies right after Daizyujin sells out, then refurbish Daizyujin once that voltron supply sells out... And repeat indefinitely π

I hope so, I don't think that the bandai engineers would go all out with articulation and detail only to stop short of movable treads and wheels lol. If you look at saber tooth , the wheels do appear to be rotational. The only reason they might is those look a little small for individual plastic link treads, and they have been trying to avoid rubber treads a lot lately since they don't age well. Thanks for that info, and I refer to you SOC experts on the matter, but could the wheels be made of plastic and it'll be rotational?

If you look at the detail of the triceratops from the side you do see what appear to be separate treads going up into the body housing, maybe those treads do move?? I hope so, I don't think that the bandai engineers would go all out with articulation and detail only to stop short of movable treads and wheels lol. Glorious! I just shed a tear What a way to wake up, thanks Chen. My thoughts: No doubt this is the definitive Megazord, not just from MMPR, but of any toy from the power rangers franchise. If there was one subject to give the royal treatment, Daizyujin was the right choice. I LOVE that they made the packaging reminiscent of the 1993 toy, styrofoam packaging included. I'm gonna call it now: The US packaging will look something like the original packaging with a twist: The tyrannosaurus has more articulation itself than any zord produced by Bandai, giving it a lot of character. Im so thrilled at those shots showing these poses, it could just as well be the suit in the show: Im also thrilled they added an ankle tilt by articulating the sabertooth and triceratops heads, and have given Daizyujin independently articulated fingers. The definitive Power Rangers tribute IMO, and these images will hold us over until we have it in our hands. The only doubt I had is whether the wheels on the sabertooth and triceratops roll for tank mode. Not a big deal though

I hope so. I would love to get this guy before it goes too high in price. Though the SoC Gaogaigar has just now hit that $320+ range. GaoGaiGar had a re-issue a little over a year ago. It's not always 10 years. Heck I think I saw a planned Tryder reissue mentioned on that Italian Gokin site. I suspect we will see a second wave of Voltron hit the streets in late April or May. They probably sent another factory run through once Daizyujin was finished. There seems a little too much demand for them to just walk away from it or leave it on the table. They have a low risk of overproducing on this one. Besides it sold out so fast the tooling is likely paid for already. Also for the record, more Voltron at this point would technically not be a "re-issue". While it currently appears to be sold out at the factory, it is not discontinued product. They simply put through another production run and send another wave of supply into the distribution channel. Re-issues are when they bring back a discontinued product that is no longer in the active catalog. Too bad the voltron 2nd release will coincide with Daizyujin, I wish they would've given us time to save up some cash. π

So would we see any add ons in terms of articulation to the ssa dairenoh ( ie better joints on ryusseioh) or would it be just cosmetic improvements? I understand there has only been 1 or 2 mecha released under this line upon which we could draw insight from. Well it is hard to say as most likely it will be the Legacy Thunder Megazord mold that Bandai will be using. As for possible changes, they will most likely be reducing diecast to smaller but more pivotal areas like the Lion Thunderzord paws should not be half diecast and instead the golden parts are all that is needed. And maybe we will get proper screw hole covers. But even then,it still may not get most people to pay $250+ for the Legacy Thunder Megazord mold. It would seem the ssa line is roughly the legacy line for Japanese customers in that case. I do hope they add some neat articulation like JOA did with the legacy ninja megazord, that thing is awesome. We'll see, apparently more news are due in April.

Which power rangers mecha do you guys think is getting the legacy treatment after the shogun megazord? The 25 anniversary is also coming up so I'd bet there's gonna be a release of the original megazord.

Dragonzord/Dragon Caesar is likely, Titanus/King Brachion is debatable due to his size. The HMR Monster was already a tough sell and that would be a similar size. It might end up as a P-Bandai. Where does p bandai fit in within the bandai hierarchy? ( ie soul of chogokin and super Sentai artisan)

So after our gx 72, we have the next three (?) SOC releases pertaining to Mazinger, do you guys think we might see a dragon Caesar in the next two years ? I understand there are two slots per year for SOC releases, so at best we might see dragonzord in late 2018 or 2019

I am just thrilled to be getting the highest grade, posable zords of this iconic beast. In particular, I'm happy we are getting a respectable tyrannozord. The green ranger fans got their legacy dragonzord but we that love the tyrannosaurus never got satisfied. I wish the tyrannosaurus was larger to match the legacy dragonzord, but I'm not gonna riot, he is way more posable.
Unlike most ranger fans, I'm more into the mecha because of the animal aspect, and display my zords as individual beasts. These SOC beasts are just beautiful, I'm planning my display case already .
As taurusoxford said, I can't believe there are fans that do not understand the difference between the SOC and the legacy, but agree it's due to poor power ranger marketing. We have videos and photo showing the details and transformation but unless you specifically know how to find them you won't see them. I'm surprised they haven't done a try and play session like thy did with gx 71 at nycc. I dot think there are anymore toy related events planned here in the west where they could do this before the release.
By the way, I'm even throwing a SOC release party with a life size Reese's peanut butter cup cake. You're all invited π

For me, I was quite happy with the Legacy Megazord. Is this SOC totally going to blow that one out of the water? That is like comparing an Acura to a Lamborghini. The jump in quality is really really huge. There's a SOC Megazord video showing partial transformation on the previous page. See for yourself. Sorry Xephon, this post was meant for mrclean08, I just messed up the quoting thing

Seems awfully quiet on the Daizyujin front, for a figure that releases next month. Any magazines or events we should be keeping an eye on? We're all counting any pennies and dimes we find under the couch But in all seriousness, I cannot wait for this thing. I must confess I've been tuned in almost daily to any news about the Daizyujin, but so far the last thing I saw was on the winter anime show. There's a video about a few pages back showing partial transformation. It is amazing, definitely the ultimate megazord. By the way, can any soul of Chogokin collector confirm if the plastic they use on these products is the same type we see in the Legacy zords? Out of topic, for anyone familiar with the super sentai artisan megazords, what can we expect from the SSA Dairenoh?

They take the thing apart and they STILL won't show the range of the knees. Now i'm getting annoyed and worried. Do not loose hope yet. I found this schematic of the Megazord showing that Tyrannozord's toes can be bent further back...possibly to allow knee articulation? I leave it up to those fellow robots that can read japanese to translate the caption.
