As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, I collect a few vintage action figure lines as well as my die-cast and vinyl, and I have a soft spot for 3 3/4” (9cm) sized figures (It must be a Star Wars thing from when I was a kid). Does anyone know more about the 'World Hero' line of 3 3/4” action figures released by Popy in the early 80’s? From what I’ve been able to learn so far there were 16 figures released along with an Ultraman 80 carry case and an alternative Denjiman carry case. There were 5 Ultra’s in the series and I think some of the others were from Kamen Rider. *update* plus what look to be five from the Sentai series Denjiman. These are the ones I think are right so far: (series numbers in brackets where available) Ultraman (#1) Ultraseven Ultraman Taro (#2) Ultraman 80 (#16) Ultraman Jonias (#3 - from The Ultraman Anime Series) Kamen Rider Super-1 Gamereojin (from Kamen Rider) Denji Red (#5) Denji Blue (#7) Denji Yellow (#8) Denji Green (#6) Denji Pink That’s 12 out of 16. The presence of Gamereojin, a chameleon enemy from KR makes me wonder if any Ultraman kaiju were produced. I’d also guess at a few more KR figures but I’ve not been able to find anything out for sure. Anyone remember these? Any help filling in the missing characters would be appreciated. (I have a set of Popy Gatchaman figures but their construction is different so I don’t think they were part of this series) Thanks to www.ultramantoys.com/ for the carry case pic. A cool site for Ultraman toys, well worth a look.

Nice, Gort have you seen/bought the new sound and light ones? They are considerably cheap and are pretty nice, the same size as the ultrachogokin.

Thanks man, I have Ultraseven and Zoffy sound and light made by Ruishi, and they are pretty nice for the price. Plastic quality isn't the best but the sculpts are nice and I like a little variety from the vinyls from time to time (more on that when I get the time, although no love for the totally non posable stuff). I'm looking at the 12" figures like the Medicom's etc, if I end up getting into these I may well get more of the light and sound figures and pass on the chogokins I've only recently found out about these Popy figures, The '80 in the second pic is on it's way to me but that'll be my first one from the line. I want to get the rest of the Ultra's but I'd like to know what the full line up was, just to tourture myself some more

I just got the Bandai B type...I have the medicom A and C, I guess that can complete my Uruturaman classic. Well, with a King Joe SOC coming soon, you may wnat to rethink the ultrachogokins, well at least for U7. The other thing, Nexus is my favorite UltraHero and Other than the Hyper Heroes, which I can't no longer find, the only other toy of Nexus I know of is the Ultrachogokin.

I think we can give this forum or section CPR and breathe new life to it.

Yeah, Nexus was going to be my first Ultrachogokin, just looks so nice. And the news of the King Joe SOC made me want the U7 as well.
I have a couple of 12" figures in the pipeline (although neither are Medicom as it happens) so I'll have a better idea what I want to do when I have them.

Really? Marmit? Bandai? BM project? The MEdicom Ultraseven looks as if it came of the silver screen. Awesome 12". My only gripe with the Ultrachogokin Nexus is that it they didn't include a gimmick or create the variant forms of Nexus. The Janis form which they did make is cool and all but there are 3 more forms that Nexus takes and it would be nice to have a representation of each. Anphans (this is the gray form that he always starts with.), The Janis Blue which is similar to the Janis, but Blue. LOL and Noa, the final form. The Janis Blue I think is the representation of the Blue Ultraman tribe (vs the red ones that we have been used to) Tiga I think is also part of the Ultraman Blue...

I have never heard of these, and I thought I was an Ultraman fan. ;D Those are pretty nice. Look like they would go nicely on the same shelf as the Soul of Bullmark kaiju sets. Those are in the same height range.

Soul of Bullmark Kaijus? Are they the same size as the Bandai vinyl Kaiju?

Much shorter. I'll try to snap some shots tonight. There are many of them. I have most of the available figures. There is also a line of similar Godzilla related small figures that are miniature representations of the original Bullmark figures. All of these are in the 3-4 inch range, but beautifully done exacting replicas of the originals. I keep the Goji dudes at my office at work. You will see these when you visit. Be careful Gort, you may become addicted, if you are not already.

Doh! Found an old collection shot on my Photobucket. You can see they are exactly as the originals, but tiny. My favorite is the Kanegon. He glows!

Sketcher, thanks for the Soul of Bullmark pic, they would look good with the Popy's. Be careful Gort, you may become addicted, if you are not already. Hehe, to late... I need a glowing Kanegon. 00silvergt, The Medicom Ultraseven does look awesome, if I go the 12" path then he's a priority. I have a Bandai Ultraman Dyna on the way (Strong type) and I'm also working on a Henshin Cyborg Thundermask.

It's basicly this set, the Strong (red) suit is complete but the others are missing some hands/feet. Cost me about $30 (£15) with postage.

Whoa! Those look nice for 30 bucks. Let us know what the quality of the costume is like when you get em. Thanks for posting pics. Do they have any of the old school Ultra dudes in that line?

Yeah I'm hoping the quality is ok, I'll LYK once I have them.
I've struggled to find any info on the line, only found that pic after I'd bought em, so I don't know what else was released.
