No, I'm not in a bad mood today. I'm just curious. It came to me in a different thread that I really hate several gokins. I find this strange, since the obsessive collector mentality in me wants to have and like everything. But I just can't bring myself to like certain gokins. I'd love to hear everyone else's pet peeves, whether its because of the design, quality control issues, or something else. Here's the start of my list - I'm sure I might be able to come up with others in the future, but here's a start. The first two I really hate, but the others I just mildly dislike (I even own some). Vavilos Laserion Baldios DX (I like the look of the ST, but I hate the look of the DX - However, I would still like to own one one day - I guess I don't hate it that much  ) Acrobunch Shinsei Brain / Brayan (sorry - I've seen it spelled several ways) Anything cutesy (like Robocon stuff) Lightan stuff Arbegas / Voltron II |

Laserion
Vavilos
Dancougar (had one as a kid and it sucked)
Oddly enough I hated Daltanius as a kid, but recently came around. last week a friend of a friend sold me the Daltanius Godaikin version for $75 near mint. It was too good to pass up so I figured "what the hell?". I really dig this thing now.

Man you guys suck haha. I love Vailos and Machine Dolphin.
I used to have Combattler V and Daltanius as a kid. Not anymore and Im looking to reclaim those oneday. Daltanius more than the rest.

Can't say that I actually hate the things, and I don't know if they are actually 'gokins' in the common sense of the word, but the whole car-into-robot Binaltech Transformer line is a big Zero for me.
One step below that is the pistol/tape player/radio/ into robot toy. Less than Zero for me.
Animal theme mechas like Gao Gai Gar, Golion, Daltanious also score low points.
Silly Gundams- the whole G-Gundam lineup blows chunks.
Have I offended everyone on the board yet?

I can't stand overly spiky/winged things, nor anything with gigantic feet, enormous guns, and exaggerated features.
I don't like things that are super-poseable, extra-detailed, and I'm with JWM on the animal theme too.
And how boring are re-re-re-re-reinterpretations, re-scales, and re-colors of existing characters?
I also throw in a vote for disliking Vavilos, despite not falling into any of the above categorisations. I don't like Gardian either.
Wait a minute, why am I here? I should be on a 'kids today don't know how lucky they are' forum.

I hate Machine Robo, no offense to the Machine Robo guys. I also hate things that have super spindly thin legs or arms and disproportionate bodies, and most of all, I hate TF's that don't have regular appendages. For example, the Megatron that has a T-rex head for one arm and a tail for the other. At least Golion made an effort to make the robot mode somewhat human-proportioned with elbows, etc. That Megatron is just ugh.

I like animal mecha because biomechanics seems like a logical reference but only as long as they are ROBOTIC animals. Robots that tranform into a real looking animals or dinosaurs with fur and all that just kills the whole robot aspect, I.E. Beastwars Transformers. Maybe I'm being a hypocrite because I love Flame Convoy/ Scourge, but he looks so cool!!!
I hate Gundam Zero too. Feathered looking wings on a Gundam that does ballet in the sky is just beyond silly to me. Especially with Gundam where it's supposed to be this pseudo military realism.
I also hate any transforming robots that doesn't have enough joints so that it could at least walk and pick something up from a table.

I hate you for hating Vavilos.
- Its from a metal hero show
- It transforms into a gun, a ship, and a robot, for no practical purpose.
- It shoots two of the biggest missiles ever to come with a chogokin.
- It is one of the tallest Godaikins.
I agree with you about hating Dancougar. That things fugly.

These are 2 of the resons I didn't like it. Not keen on any of the metal hero designs.

This is a tough one. Over the years as I have acquired various robots, I have learned to appreciate more styles and variations of design. I would have to say I don't "hate" any gokins. If I had to pick some that I dislike, I would say most of the Gundam line after the original designs. I am not very fond of the Evangeleon series either. The Mazinger girls are starting to grow on me, though I used to dislike them.

I used to hate Vavilos, but I've made my peace with it. Most people are turned off because of the lack of diecast. But if you take it out of the Godaikin or DX Chogokin lineup, it holds its own.
Laserion sucks though, no matter how you look at it.
I also really don't like Clover's Dunbine toys. For a toy company that made some of the best gokins ever to go out like that is a damn shame.

Blah, I -really- like both Acrobunch and the DX G Gundam toys. Shining Gundam and God Gundam especially are spectacular toys.

I think there's something wrong with you guys, you guys actually "hate" toy? What did those toys/robots did to you that make you "hated" it?
I can understand that maybe you don't "like" some "things" but to "hate" it that's totally a different thing.

I don't understand how you can hate a toy, you may not like it because it's not pleasing to your eye or somthing but hate is a pretty strong word.
But I will say the old Godaikin Dancouga is pretty fugly and infact his face gives me the creeps.

Probably "least favorite" would be more accurate. I thought this whole thread was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek. More of a goof than anything else. Holy cow, I hope no one out there is so passionate about toy robots that they have time to hate them.

daltanious is my most disliked.
have to agree with the whole Animal-to-robot thing, especially TF Beast Wars, except for the wooly mammoth, that one always looked kinda cool, but the robot mode isnt too sweet.

please consider that the combination of the baldios is really like in the anime so it would be impossible to have a nice combinations with a nice body dimensions...

i don´t like animal themed transforming robots! like the one mentioned before with a trex head for an arm and stuff like that!
but gaogaigar is great! and it is only a lion! and lions as we all know are the exception to the rule that says animal themed transforming robots suck!
ggg is one of the great designs in the history of robots! the mf and cms versions deserve all our respect!
one more thing i don´t like are transforming robot trains! it must be an acquired taste!
and jeeg too...
