Just received my Rei (white hair ver.) and not sure if its just me being lucky, or did they improved on the eyes paint job. It looks really good as is. A lot more subtle, and much less sleepy/stoned heavy outline on the eyes. I think it will be the only Hokuto revoltech I don't really have to touch up the eyes. Very very nice. The colors are very nice too with lighter color boots and white gaunlets. Think he is my favorite so far.
My Raoh came in as well. Still wish the torso is bigger, and he is shorter than expected. Taller than the rest, but only by half the head, not towering over like he should. Lest fortunate with a looser revoltech knee, but the rest are fine and still a nice figure. Eyes are better than old ones, but still the outline is a bit heavy. So I use xacto knife to thin off the eyeline on some areas, and gave it a center white dot to pupils like all the others. Not as ideal as I hoped for, but I like him. Helmet is a bit big though, and too bad no cape.

Well, here's a thread that we haven't used in some time...
So, has anyone seen the listing for Kukuoh-go over on HLJ...
A couple surprises for those that haven't yet...
1. It's actually a set that includes another Raoh figure (actually my favorite of the lot), the cape (which we already knew about), shoulder pads, helmet, and (of course) extra hands...
2. It's...get ready for it...over 8000yen (around $85 - $90)...IF you buy it on the "early bird" pre-order. IF you don't it will be nearly 8500yen...
Ouch!!! On the upside, it has a really nice Raoh figure...that if I had realized was coming, I may have just passed on the "final battle" version that I just had shipped. On the downside I really wanted a couple of these, one for Raoh, one to share between Kenshiro and my Protect Gear "captain" (I have a squad of five figures and I occasionally swap out the captains head for a Kenshiro head). However, at $85 each, I probably won't be getting more than one...still, I'll be considering it for the next couple weeks...

Yeah, this is why I'm starting to think about narrowing my collecting back down to just the mecha figures, Revoltech releases have definitely gotten kinda rediculous the past year or so...

Its too bad about the horse. I don't need a repaint of Raoh, just the horse and the cape. So Kaiyodo lost my business by throwing Raoh in the release.
Though looking forward to HLJ restocking Shu & Souther, and the upcoming Jyuza (the Nanto Cloud guy). Always like his care-free character, while being a pretty badass when he gets serious. And we don't see him getting a action figure treatment very often.

Yeah, this is why I'm starting to think about narrowing my collecting back down to just the mecha figures, Revoltech releases have definitely gotten kinda rediculous the past year or so... So far I have stuck with mecha, though I have branched out through figma, but i only get certain characters. i can see if there was a die hard revlotech fan, it getting more difficult staying on top of all teh releases from all of there lines, and soon they are going to push the "Kaiju" line!! But the real killers for me are the exclusives and ABs..... actually a lot of japanese toy companies are jumping on the web only and limited release bandwagon........ and they just dont do stupid color rehashes either anymore....... its really rather frustrating for the international buyer.... |
