Can't be less cost effective than the GX-01R+ head... I think a saw a "Power up" kit for the GX-03 Combattler once, AND a metal Twin Lancer as well.
As far as what would I like in the SOC Daimos, I wish it didn't have the horrible leg/hip articulation (Gundam flaps would've been awesome), and I wish it had a waist joint (so he could be posed like the Gurren Lagann). I wouldn't mind parts swapping the hell out of it at all if it had those...

I'm going to get Daimos from Angolz and I'd appreciate any help fellow robotjapan members can provide.
1. What is the best payment method? I read that Steve Armstrong had some issues paying via paypal.
2. Does Angolz "securely" pack the items to prevent any damage? Especially the box for the SOC?
thanks in advance for your helpful replies.

Best payment method with Angolz would be paypal. I had issues with them paying with a credit card, but have never had any problems with paypal. Also, I've ordered quite a bit from them, and have never had any packaging issues. Boxes have always been clean, and packed well.

Overall if you were to purchase items from Angolz, paypal is the more efficient method of payment.
One more question regarding Angolz.
People seem to have purchased SOCs from both HLJ and Angolz. Who packs their stuff better?
Steve care to comment?

packing between angolz and HLJ-- i say both do a great job--not one is better than the other me thinks... and I have oredered from bothe of them...
the last one i got from HLJ was the Reideen SOC-- the box of the soc was placed on a flat cardboard-- and that combo was hermetically sealed with plastic-- looks like a machine did it...and then placed in a bigger outer box--used for the shipping...
-For Angolz... I had the 2 SOC Daimos-- I think they had bubble pillows used to pack the toy boxes in a bigger box...
both works for me as the boxes came in in great condition...

Here are my two cents as I too ordered from both angolz and HLJ alot. about once a month.
payment - paypal best for both places.
Prices - Angolz tends to be cheaper generally speaking.
Shipping costs - with SAL - HLJ is cheaper, so the differences in price is very small if any between the two online stores.
packaging - HLJ is a bit better with their packaging, but angolz isn;t bad at all.
Handling - well both places has some lazy careless workers. As I have received packages with dents around the sharp corners from them before. No damage to the box, but i am guessing when they picking up the items from the shelf, they probably mis-handle them.
about one out of 5 times this happens.

THREAD RESURRECTED!!!
Took me some effort to dig up this old thread (original thread was locked, and the search engine on this board doesn't really work). Funny to read some pessimistic comments I posted like 4-5 years ago too. After all this time, and missing out all the great deals I could have had back then ($100 for Daimos), I might be interested in getting one afterall. My collection seems to be incomplete without Daimos, since I used to love watching it when little, and like the robot quite a bit, with all the weapons and kungfu moves and all... Just not sure what took me so long to have a change of heart.
For those that have it for quite a while, how does Daimos' quality and engineering stack up with SOCs latest greatest? While SOC did slowed down quite a bit lately, the releases have been really good with some all-star releases came out the passed couple slower years (Big-O, Daltanius, God Sigma, General Franky to name a few). Would you say it is still a very good buy today given I can find it at normal retail price?

It's a great figure, good metal content, a load of accessories and a innovative transformation. I love mine and should still be a great figure after all these years at decent prices.
