Right when the guy remove it from the display stand and those 'arms' drooped so much, I totally lost interest in this toy. A floppy space carrier that can't even support itself in cruiser mode is just no fun. And you can pretty much forget about 'flying' it around in your room.

The whole thing is floppy, the color is not great. But it is a nice size, good details and in a reasonable price. I am going to get one.

My first reaction to its floppiness was, "wow - I never noticed while watching the show how amazingly gobot-like this Macross was. SDF-1 at least had its bow split open and become the booms for the main-cannon. Macross Quarter on the other hand is pretty much a humanoid in a "Superman-pose." Given it's design, no wonder it's floppy - there's not actually anything for the arms to "lock" into.
Still, I'm impressed by its size (I just didn't appreciate the numbers until I saw the video of an actual pair of human hands touching it to give me a sense of scale. I wonder if it's not too late for me to place a pre-order at amiami with the release date so close. Hmm...

I just pre ordered one from AmiAmi... I like the robot variation of the Quarter but the ship version looks kinda lame honestly. Gobot like is a very good comparison.

Cool - Amiami accepted my pre-order too. I'm thinking, despite it's floppiness, at least I can rest assured Bandai makes some pretty solid toys and it won't fall apart on me at the slightest touch. Now can't wait for it to arrive.

Amiami is super fast. I ordered my first valk, the movie alto version last month! I live in Canada and after I sent payment it took 3 days to get to me. Im not sure how xmas will effect shipping though....
As for the toy not being able to hold its own weight I dont really mind. Im almost 28 and dont plan on flying my macross quater across the room. For me its more of a really cool display piece so it being on a stand or standing up is perfect.

Very cool, thanks for the reassurance. As you can see from my profile - I live in Ottawa, not a "port" city. So I need to assume an extra day will pass from when it comes into Canada through either Mississauga (near Toronto) or St.Laurent (near Montreal) before it's out for delivery by a local carrier. Oh well. Oh... and by the way... I'm in my 30s and I do fly toys around my house.

<-- has drunkenly (several times) flown around a $700 resin model making swooshing noises.
Ideon is also a fun toy to swoosh around while singing "SPACE BUUUUUS! IN SPAAAAAACE!"

It was 4,700 Yen. The total was $220 USD with Paypal. That is an excellent deal in my opinion.

thanks timmy.
hopefully stock will last till January. I've already blown my budget for this month. Please do a mini review! I'd be curious of how it compare size-wise to the VF-25s, what the metal content may be, and whether it's a sturdy toy to mess with.
