That doesn't look like paint, looks like photoshop. On this one they gave him the more anime correct "slumped" shoulders... on the 9in vinyl hes got big round shoulders.. yes it could be photoshop or there could be a strong light source giving it that vibrant color. on a side note, does other previews figures of Grendizer has the screw hole in the lower arms expose like Gattaiger?, i don't like that to be there and hope they change it.

I have no idea... screw holes will probably about the same.
On a side note, this is a good sculpt of Roboizer... lets be honest guys. There isn't much footage of Roboizer in the anime and what they showed was a Roboizer that pretty much looked like crap. Freeze frame what little film footage there is of him and he was drawn with very little detail... Roboizer kinda looked like crap. That was the main reason for the creation of Grendizer. Still, I think the sculpt is fine. He looks good to me at least.
Go back and look at that footage of Gattiger.. Roboizer had long skinny arms, huge fists, big funny looking head... you wouldn't really want a figure that looked like that in your collection. He looks quite bad in the anime.

here is a picture of it painted so far Something is off... maybe the shoulders? The paint tone? I can't pinpoint it, but something is definitely off! }| Don't say this, bro! Someone might ban you and add you to his blacklist! LOL! I say the head is stretched a bit, the same style with MT01 and MT04 bodies. Dunno why this stretchy-style?

Yup...agree with everyone on the skinny face and long/skinny body...It seems HLPRO can't get the head sculpts right for ex: original MT01, Gin Gin, and now Gattiager. I remember that the nice new Grendy MT01 was created by someone from this board. Like I said before, I enjoy their art boxes more than their actual figures lol

well you only see him for a few seconds in the anime.. the angle they drew him at is a "looking up' shot most of the time. they tended to draw things looking kind of fat when they did that.. and if you look at him his fists are greater diameter than the arms. and the arms are totally straight up.. no "muscles" at all.. legs are pretty much straight tubes.. same with the arms. Then you look at the Manga and hes tall and skinny, head and shoulders above Grendizer with big round shoulders.. there isn't much of Roboizer/Gattiger. You can pretty much do what you want with that one.. looks fine to me. Kind of a mix between anime and manga..

dude the first one was a Manga head.. it was a cool head. Horns were right and everything...
look at the head on the cover of this manga.. it was a Go Nagai type head. He drew it like that sometimes the second head was called "The Anime Head" from the TV show basically.. so they offered BOTH ways. Over time, I came to like the Manga type head, with that cat-like face and they upswept horns .. he looks like a bobcat.
here is another Manga ... look how Go Nagai drew the horns on the cover. HLpros Manga head was a good interpretation of that head

There are so many representations of Grendy's head, but the one from the Anime like CM's, SOC, and the new MT01 are the ones that majority agree on. and if they meant to go by the representation that you put, then why did they release the newer MT01 Head sculpt, and why none of the art boxes represent that skinny head, and why none of their other vinyl models have that ugly head?

GreenGetterGuy...this is HLPRO's own vinyl limited model...u see how the face is wider?

cause its just whatever they want.. its been that way going all the way back to the 70s... Go Nagai and even Toei just drew everything any way they felt like drawing it at any time ... there is no "right way".. just what you like and don't like. I like the Manga head MT01 just as much as the Anime head and they were even called "Manga and Anime"... its the same thing with Spiderman and Superman.. all "Superman" is "Superman", just because it doesn't have Christopher Reeves face on a figure does not mean that the character is not Superman... Its STILL SUPERMAN! ha ha

GreenGetterGuy...this is HLPRO's own vinyl limited model...u see how the face is wider? but the shoulders are "wrong"... OOPS... no wait, they are "correct" bc that's a Manga shoulder.. its just whatever they think looks good at the time.. the MT Gattiger is going to look great in person, trust me...that head is going to look right

I believe the whole disagreement of a way character looks certain way is majority of us have certain idealistic look of the character....of course. And when the company produce a figure that deviates from that mold we get little insane especially when it,s first ever produced.
Having said that, HLPro just like Bandai,s SRC division have their signiture sculptors who have their their own quirks, eyes, and interpretations.... Not much can be done but we will voice our ideas.
The perfect character figure for me would be Bandai,s soc division engineered with evolution toy or CMs sculptors....maybe with sprinkle of Sentinel thrown in. But to HLPro,s credit, they,re doing characters that nobody will touch and as a collector I,m very VERY grateful. Although not perfect HLPros figs def have charm. If the pricing was better I,d def buy one.

I didn't buy it but that's cool.. I wasn't offended. If you go back and look at my later comments on it I said it was a great figure.. just not what I like, that's all. Now. if you look at the difference between the vinyl gattiger and the metaltech version, the dimensions are only slightly different bc the vinyl is basically a tiny Jumbo Machinder... its ment to be slightly "toy like" A lot of these complaints lately about hlpro come from some personal stuff that went down outside of this forum.. a few members had these huge "Otaku Man-crushes" on the CEO of Hlpro.. when they had a falling out over a disagreement they started nit-picking his figures in an attempt to get his attention back, even though the poor guy does not personally sculpt them. HLpro is a team of guys.. some of them are on this thread and For all I know, the head sculpt on Gattiger could be the same guy that did the anime grendizer head.

Head is off, shoulders off Im sure of it. don't forget the open hand, it doesn't match the proportions of the close fist. on a side note, this is still in the works so we have to wait and see the final results.

Head is off, shoulders off Im sure of it. but what are you comparing it to? ... the custom figure of Gattiger based on Energer? the anime version doesn't really have "shoulders" just some .... things
