I did think of that as well, but in order to work, the back of the arm has to be done as nice as the front. Sometimes that's not the case. Thank you for asking HLPro! }D

haha I thought you would get a kick out of that ... the other side must be nice enough because they suggested it... now that I think about it, they may have meant the whole arm itself could be switched around... then you could swap the fists around to be correct..

OK guys, I got some new unofficial news for us RJ members.
Gin Gin is basically "sold out", its probably HLPROs fastest selling item in their history. It did super well in the EU and got a lot of attention. What this means to us fans is that two things are going to happen. 1- Gattiger will be released "on time" and progress on that character is moving right along. 2- An awesome special color edition of Gin Gin with revised saw-blade locking feature is soon to come.
When the special edition was described to me, I could see what they were talking about and I really want this other color.. its going to look really menacing.
At the last toy show, there were a lot of people asking about the Universal Base, they are still working out the details but its safe to say that the Universal Base is going to come.
The Gattiger vinyl is "on hold" right now bc they think the final retail price will be a bit too high right now and they don't want sales of the vinyl to interfere with the Metaltech verson... the vinyl may come one day but not right now. Maybe after the Metaltech would be better.
Oh, I was shown some new photographs of Zmazinger... the sculpt and mechanical detail is fantastic... my first impression is that I was looking at a "SOC-level" production, it looks like a very "serious" figure. If you know what I mean. I predict it will be a blockbuster with Mazinger collectors even outside the HLPRO fanbase. Im going to go ahead and stick my neck out and mention that I saw some weapon effects for it, they are very unique in style, nothing else in the industry like this yet. That's all Im going to say about them... from what I saw, as long as the execution is good, I would say that these effects give SRC effects a good run for their money.. they are very different from SRC but they look real cool, they have their own personality that you will recognize when you see them.
That's all I got for now guys..

Great news about Gin Gin, I haven't had a chance to get one but if these re-color looks better then that's good for me.

yeah.. I would compare it to the difference between MT01 and MT01 CHROME... its going to be "darker" and more visual at the same time.. saw blades being perfected would also be a bonus..

Damnit. If the blades lock in better and the blue is different, I'll be all over the new gin gin. But I don't want two. I already have two and can't seem to sell one of them! That means i have to sell two gin gins...

I forgot to ask, the figure was generally well received and sold quickly. I would think that it would be low priority but anything is possible.. just depends on how they feel. Im not sure I would call it a "problem" that needed to be fixed anyway, it was shown both ways in the anime and probably looks better forward .. but like I said, anything is possible.

It wasn't shown both ways intentionally! But mistakenly was shown forward ! According to every thing official regarding this character or this episode! Any way ! I wish they continue with producing villains just and keep producing awsome box arts but pay more attention to details so a problem like this won't happen again

Box art means alot to you guys huh? do you guys display the boxes or? The only boxes that do anything for me are the Large SOC combiner boxes with the overlay inside..like Gx-50,GX-31V,Godmars etc.

and Heaven forbid a company takes any liberties or puts their own interpretation on a character. he he If they claim anime accuracy? ... yes heaven forbids Exactly companies should not change art someone else has done, that has succeeded in standing the test of time, they do not need to be upgraded to fit a new era.The love of these things is for the charm of their birth era. They are not automobiles, and dont need yearly upgrades, unless done by the original artist.Mona Lisa needs no new hairstyle, dig? Then on the other hand,if they are obvious changes like Fewture stuff{which I do not care for}that is tolerable as it is blatant..But small inane changes like colors,or added curves, uneccessary sculpt changes etc,are foolish, the source should be true.Companies taking liberties on this are just ruining the design, they really have no right, and why fix things that are not broken?I scream anime accuracy from the mountain tops.

they all do it though. Popy and Bullmark did it back in the 70s too... a lot of times its because its hard to make an actual figure that works as a figure just based on some vague and inconsistent drawing. I hear collectors going on and on about "anime accuracy" but there doesn't seem to be an agreement on what "anime accuracy" actually is and it doesn't seem to actually have any impact on sales figures. Some of the top selling chogokins out there aren't "anime accurate" but they sell in large numbers bc people like them.. like the Grendizer and Mazinger Z SRCs... Over the years I just kinda gave up on my old ideas of what is accurate and what isn't accurate. Like when I see vintage Getter 1 vinyls ... they got some of them out there that are accurate as hell but they look like sh*t,.. that's because the 70s anime Getter one was usually drawn... "like sh*t" hahah
Im at the point now where I just either like the figure or I don't.... I don't try to even make sense out of why I like them or don't.. I just know what I like when I see it. Like the new Sentinel Black Getter.. I like it! I am not sure if its actually anime accurate or not, I would have to bust out the micrometer and the blueprints based on average drawings but who cares? That figure just looks good, doesn't matter/

On one hand, I'm all for Anime Accuracy if the toy company were licensed and commissioned to produce a rendition of the character accurately from head to toe inside out all around.
On the other hand, I welcome the improvisation and innovation of a character in its toy form. Because if every toy in the world were strictly made exactly the same, I'd have one very Boring Fked-Up childhood.
