I agree with Baron about hlpro and the influences! Remember how many times they used the marmit sculpt of FLOSR Grendizer as a base for their grendizer? Shal we count? Grendizer mini, grendizer all spazer team mini set, the 12" articulated grendizer and the big 60 cm grendizer ! They are all based on the marmit FLOSR grendizer head sculpt (specially the head) Even now for their black grendizer I think they used the SOC grendizer black version as refrence for their black version I would love to see their different take on the black version. It will make their product stand out more

well HL bought the rights to produce some Marmit stuff so that is kind of to be expected..they have a relationship with some of their figures. But yeah HL was quite open with me about the fact that some of their stuff is Marmit-based in style. I think they said the Grendy Jumbo was based on the Marmit Mini Metal.

See ! As much as I love it I was sick of the same head sculpt over and over again! The big grendy was based on the flosr not the mini metal Thanks god that they decided to make original sculpts later on

yeah the Flosr.. I get things mixed up over time sometimes.. yeah I think its a time for a change too. From what I remember about the flosr sotry that they told me was that Marmit had satisfied the Japanese market but there was still demand in the EU so HL bought the rights to keep producing a few of the characters that were popular in the EU so they could meet EU demand for those figures... it was a business relationship. It was a good idea at that time I think, they sold many of them.

Reproducing a toy to meet demand is one thing and baseing your designs for a totally different toy line on someone else effort and work is another thing which to me I think they simply went the easy way

Well either way, I am not unfairly favoring HL bc I know that me and a few other guys were shown detailed computer drawings of Zmaz long before the ET version came out.. and I came in kind of late to that game, I think the other guys saw it even before I did and that must have been around early 2013 maybe even late 2012.. I think Dammage7 can attest to that bc he saw it even before I did. Maybe Dammage7 knows the dates better than I do because I was just picking up little things here and there through converstaions with Mr M. about that figure and a few others back in those days. Maybe Lucca worked on it and knows more about it, I don't know.. just off the top of my head I would say that the HL Zmaz pre-dates the ET release somewhere between 6 and 10 months.. does that sound right to you Dammage7?

Oh yeah, the Metaltech Z-Mazinger was in the works wayyy before ET even announced their garage kit of it. If my memory serves me right, I was one of the folks who got the MT Z-Mazinger leak - but was sworn to secrecy. }D

Waiting for pre-orders to pop-up. no pre orders needed.. HL usually knows how many of us there are and they usually only make a few more figures than are actually needed at the time.. they will go on sale and we will buy them up.. if they don't all sell out in a year or so then they know demand was met.. if they all sell out in a few months, they will make another batch..
