OK guys UPDATE
I was talking with Mr. J about two nights ago and he said some things that are probably safe for me to tell you guys but I gotta hold a few cards close to my chest so I don't tip off any other companies that may be lurking and piss off Mr. J
Lets see, Ill start with Gin Gin, HL is pissed off about how those saw blades turned out so I am going to go ahead and say that I think its highly likely that any future Gin Gins will not have those "pegs" holding the blades on there. It was something that looked good on paper but did not meet expectations in the field. But overall they are very happy about how well it sold and they used it as a test-bed for the new articulation system that they want to use and improve on from this point forward.
OK, Gattiger.. they are extremely pleased with it. They say its HEAVY like a brick. He mentioned that some of the edges on the pre production prototypes were so sharp that they were afraid people would cut themselves on them so they "softened" them slightly. What they learned from Gin Gin allowed them to get a greater range of leg movement and they are going with ratcheted joints that they like better for a more positive upscale feel. They left the basic sculpt as it was, I think they want it to match well on display with the other MT figures and keep a "HL PRO style" to it..
so this brings me to Z Mazinger.. based on what they showed me, I would put this figure on par with a SOC-level figure. They are using some joints that they have never used before, not "industry first" but just good application of joints that have been used before in other figures by other companies.. mixed with the new HLpro articulation from Gin and Gattiger. By looking at it and hearing the explanation I would say that its going to be like Gattiger but MORE, if you know what I mean.
But other than that, they are in a good mood and they are real busy over there working on all kinds of stuff and even stuff outside of "Super Robots" in other lines. Its looking real good. Gattiger maybe next month.

However, if HL PRO makes a new Gin Gin with better blades, those who didn't buy it would be lucky to have a new advanced ed. Hopefully, with better eyes and horns shape too! Gattaiger - Well, more important, it's the customers' turn then to decide if they will be also happy with the figure or not! We'll see.

If the HLPro Gattaiger stays under 200$ Id be very surprised,I certainly hope so though.
On a side note,Im gonna start just saying Metaltech, because HLPro always sounded to me like a sporting goods store,or a name for a baseball bat.No offense,I know it means PROduct, and not PROfessional. But Ive never heard "product" shortened to Pro before,so i think of PROfessional.Anyhow the part of HLPro we subscribe to is the Diecast line basically,so I believe Metaltech is more fitting, like SOC or SRC instead of Bandai.

I think what they are considering is that future color variants will have improved blades... and possibly "other" minor variations.. they don't seem to be totally finished with the subject of Gin Gin. with Gattiger..The whole team is pleased with it because they think it will be received well by the fans.. we shall see..

If memory serves me, I think they said "around 200". maybe even they don't know yet.. some of it depends on exchange rates and other details.

Aaah for the love of God! 200 is waaay too much for such a robot with simple engineering!

Its TWO figures.. not one. Later on, they may release a Roboizer by himself though, that would be cheaper. The MT01 Deluxe set was about 150.. and that was made in much larger numbers that reduced the price, so 200 sounds about right to me.

Aaah for the love of God! 200 is waaay too much for such a robot with simple engineering! Actually I think its cheap seeing it comes with his Spazer, and its a hunk of metal.Compare pricing to other companies. The only reason he isnt more expensive I feel is the size of the figure.Metaltech figures arent big figures,so thats where the cash is saved i think.200$ seems very reasonable if thats the actual price.Besides SRC,when can you get the type of figures we collect for under 200$? I welcome this figure,it fits right in with my collecting tastes, and its extremely brave of HLPro,to make such an obscurity..even with the Grendizer tie in.

It is not two figures ! It is one figure with simple engineering and one ship with even more simple engineering so price is pretty high !! Really really high for what you get ! The DX set was over priced in the first place considering that grendizer alone costed around 50 $ adding a metal disc (spacer) can't justify the additional hundred ! The GX04 s set costed 180 and that included all the spacers !
But still it looks great and I am pretty sure people will buy it because : 1- It looks good 2- there is no other Gattiger or Roboizer of what so ever !!
But there is a big difference between buying something because it is the only option in the market and I have to pay what ever amount the company is asking for , and actually buying it and pay the right amount and run home really happy with what you have purchased and not feeling guilty about it !!
200 is way overpriced I think what would be good price is 130 $ this way people will buy more of it ! Multiple copies for some collectors and more costumers which means bigger fan base !!

if you are going to count ET toys then yes 200 $ is good price !! but if you are comparing it to other gokin companies then no it is overpriced !! The metal it self is not expensive guys !! it is engineering and the number of molds and pieces that form the toys what makes it expensive !

its very limited production though so you must consider that. I bet only 1000 or so will be made.. I paid 150 for the MT01 with Spazer so for me, the extra 50 dollars is not a big deal to me. Plus, you know they always throw in some cool bonus items that can be used with other releases so I think it will all work out. I just have the feeling that its going to be even cooler than Gin Gin was and Gin sold pretty fast..
I am not really collecting these things bc of the technical aspects, I collect HL because I think its different and it looks cool but I think the one to really watch for is Zmazinger.. I think that one is going to really take HL to a new level. I am not too excited about the Golden Chicken but they are mostly making that one for France I think it was and they are only going to make enough to satisfy that market.. I think I will probably get one anyway just so I can have the whole MT line.. you know the "completest" thing..

Diecast is great... until it gets damaged. TBH, I rather had more of the diecast in the figure itself than on the spacer. If the spacer takes an accidental plunge, the diecast content may work against it surviving unscathed. I think the formula used for the Grendizer Spacer was spot on. IMO, since the Gattaiger figure is hidden inside the spacer anyway, the need for a hefty spacer was not really necessary. But after all is said and done, this MT release is looking really sweet indeed! }D

this conversation kind of reminds me of another conversation that I had with this forum a while back about the prices of things and who makes what... it kind of upset some people
The "Chain of Supply" goes like this: Manufacturer-Distributor-Retailer
The 200 retail price is what the Retailer puts on it. At that price, the Retailer profits maybe 10-20 dollars per unit. The Distributor is the guy that makes the highest profit at about 40-50 dollars per unit. The Manufacturer makes about the LEAST profit on a diecast at about 5-10 dollars on a unit like this... profit on par with a much cheaper vinyl figure that sells in higher quantities at faster speeds. Its a crazy industry. Most of these companies really only use the diecast lines as "advertisements" to help sell vinyls. I know for a FACT that in the case of HL Pro, their biggest money maker of all time is that funny looking 9' Grendizer! ha ha That 9' Grendizer funded the ability to produce the MT line... TRUE! ha ha

Its a classic HL product I would love to have one.. Ill start collecting the 9" when the two new ones come out.. he he (yeah two more are coming) and I am not talking about the Gattiger 9

Actually, $200 seems quite reasonable for this Gattaiger set.

Actually, $200 seems quite reasonable for this Gattaiger set. But recently we got for 220 usd the MP vehicle voltron that is formed of 15 loaded with metal vehicles and standed a good 12" and weigthed a ton !! And was produced by a small company and in limited numbers !! Don't that make you think that this HLPro MT is over priced???
