Tired GOW3 last night. Its not bad. Parts are cheesy. The camera movement and shots are great though. I will never be a fan of quicktime events in games.

I will probably play the campaign mode to death and then never touch the multiplayer portion - not a big fan of the way the skirmish modes are set up. I could never get the hang of it... I wish there were some kind of tutorial for the multiplayer skirmishes because after a year on the original game, I still feel like a n00b when I play it. I agree with you on the skirmishes. It seems they sort of took out the old strategy concept in favor of a quicker, run and shoot mob type of thing. It was a real disappointment for me after the original Dawn of War, which I still play regularly. I'm just glad that SC2 is around the corner.

Battlefield:Bad Company 2, and Brutal Legends. Playing the campaign mode on BC2 and it's so easy to get cheap achievement points. It's the only reason I am still on this game. Tried the Online mode for a couple of hours. Don't like it as much as Modern Warfare 2. Pace is too slow, maps are way too big, and I get it, you need to have multiple areas to destroy. A lot of the players in this one are sitting back and waiting instead of getting into the fight. And I already hate campers in MW2, and this one, it's worst. Can't wait for the new map pack coming out next week for MW2.

Coldiron, if we're even online at the same time we should play a round or two of Fat Princess. I still have a few trophies to earn it it, and none of my friends seem to play anymore. Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3. How is it so far? I've been pretty busy with schoolwork, so I'm unfortunately just a few hours in. So far I'm really enjoying it. For starters it's beautiful, even on my standard def TV. The characters are pretty decent so far, but sticking pretty close to standard tropes. The combat is pretty fun, very fast. There have been a few times where I'm not quite sure what I'm doing but it works anyway. The complaints of linearity seem pretty justified so far though. There really hasn't been much space to wander at all. Based on my limited experience so far, I would recommend it.

Played Resident Evil 5 "Lost in Nightmares" today. Jeez, I must suck worse than I thought (that or I'm just not that good at puzzles). It's supposed to be only an hour or so to go through the campaign mode - it's so short there's not even a game-save system. But it took me just over 2 hours. First I got stuck because I couldn't figure out how to get the third and final "password." (I had all the items, just didn't know how to "get it together"; wound up looking it up on-line). Then there was the boss fight where... well, I didn't realize it was mostly luck to get enough shots and "quicktime events" triggering. I must have used 15 or 20 continues to retrying the boss fight over and over.

No FPS (first-person shooters) fans here? Quakelive is free to play online. I pimped this before, looking for fellow players. Check it out. Free. Online. Fun. Fragging galore! (frag = kill)

How is Afterburner? Worth the $10? I might be convinced to get it. I have a bit of a history with AB. Used to love the arcade game (yes, the one you see John playing in T2). Then I got the PSP game and got pretty far before my autistic cousin decided to randomly delete my game save... I was pretty bitter about that (although, it was probably my own fault for not supervising her).
Anyway, still playing Mushroom Wars campaign. So freaking close to the end, I think. Frustratingly close. As with all RTS games you have to go through the motions, and one little mistake and the AI will capitalize on it.
Oh yeah, and Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love on PS2... It's funny to realize I've watched almost all the anime, read the manga, etc... but this is the first time I get to play a Sakura Wars game. And it comes off pretty well. Not sure if it would be the smash success it is in Japan, but it's interesting as far as a game concept goes.
