I tried the Blur demo. Kind of a mix between WipEout and Ridge Racer - that is, combat racing and nice cars in an arcade style game. But really, I've had my fill of combat racing with WipEout HD so I'm not really up for buying yet another title that lets me do the same sort of thing. The FX are really nice though so if you're into that, it's pretty cool.
Also started the Starcraft 2 campaign - very cool. Missions are well-thought out and you have neat objectives to do.
Oh yeah, grabbed Afterburner Climax last night - it's disounted on PSN this week for only $5. Good old arcade shooting ...in hi-def. For this price, it was a no-brainer.

Radiata Stories, still - gotta keep chipping away at my PS2 RPG pile... thinking that I'm going to have to give up on Xenosaga, unfortunately.

I finally gave up on Xenosaga, too. I felt like I was never getting anywhere with it. It's a shame, it never really grabbed me like Xenogears did.
I just played through Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1) and Metal Gear (MSX) in the last couple of days. My first time for both, somehow. They were great. I think I'll try to play through Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake tomorrow.

Yeah, Xenosaga just dragged on, top it with useless mechs.

Starcraft II - really digging some of the mech designs! The Viking especially would make for a very neat toy. Persona 4 Valkyria Chronicles Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love

Scott Pilgrim vs the World (PS3) PS : Kazinger K! I'm really excited to play this, just need to get my PS3 back online to DL it -- apparently my university hates making it easy for students to use the internet service that's included in our tuition. Arrr. In the meantime, I've been keeping busy with Breath of Fire (GBA). Found it for a couple of bucks at a used video store. Lots of fun so far.

Got a Wii last weekend - Been playing Metroid Prime Trilogy (soooo goooooooood) and started up Metroid : Other M. I'm divided on other M. The combat is super slick (as expected of team Ninja), and it hits all the right buttons of exploration, showing you stuff you can't get to and will have to come back for, and having forgiving platforming that avoids the frustrations that are so easy to induce in a 3D game.
On the other hand, it does a lot of things that are so unbelievably, insurmountably aggravating that it makes me want to headbutt the nearest solid object. There are moments where the game dumps you into a first person mode and you cannot progress until you find the tiny, blending-into-the-background blob that it wants you to look at to make the cutscene continue. I swear to god I spend 10 minutes stuck in one such segment, trying to figure out what the heck I was supposed to be seeing (it turned out it was some brownish bugs on the brown floor that were 30 feet away and therefore smaller than a fingernail on my TV screen). Not 30 minutes later I was once again shoved into one of these sequences where, after another 5-10 minutes of searching, apparently I was supposed to notice some green blood that was on some green grass in a big field that was nowhere near the point of interest everyone else was looking at.
Grargh. I want to love it, but it keeps stonewalling me with stupidity.

Waiting for Halo-Reach to come out. This series has been by far my most favorite game series ever, it's gonna be sad to see that this is the last one from Bungie.

I got the Scott Pilgrim beat'em-up too... Definitely a multiplayer experience so invite your friends over (it's just too repetitive and plain hard going solo).
Looking forward to Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions - I liked what I've read, but I'm kind of guilty over getting a new game when I'm in the middle of a game a firend loaned me: Uncharted. Yes, the first one.
And I have the opposite problem as quinjester... Uncharted will pause the game momentarily and prompt you to use the "look" button. So you look, the character Drake makes a comment, and then you move on. But the annoying thing is, you never know for sure whether that was an important game-event or not. Sometimes it's a hint letting you know where you should go next. Other times, it's just a background detail... I spent 10 minutes trying to shoot down or otherwise acquire what I later found was nothing at all according to a FAQ text. (That is, it was just an environment artifact and wasn't even mentioned in the game walkthrough). Sheesh!
Oh, and I played the demo for Recettear on Steam. I liked it... maybe I'll get the full version. But again, still feeling guilty if I don't finish Uncharted and return that to my friend first.

I polished off Other:M with a 100% completion percentage... a fun game overall, and worth playing in my mind. Some people are all uppity about Samus' characterization, but I found the overall plot and character progression to be perfectly reasonable and enjoyable. The Voice acting was ... well, not so great, but the action and the endgame set pieces were really well done. Some awesome cameos by past Metroid bosses, as well!
With Other:M done it's back to the JRPG PS2 grind - Mana Khemia and Suikoden III are the next on the to-do list.

Suikoden III is my favorite in the series (although I never finished II, V, and Tactics). Great, great game. I'm on something of a PS2 JRPG kick myself - I'm currently playing through Persona 4, Sakura Wars, and Yakuza (not quite JRPG).

Halo Reach, anyone here playing it? I was on last night and played a couple of hours. Got past two three levels on legendary mode with a couple of buddies on the squad.

I picked up MadWorld on a whim. Oh man, what brutal, stylish, bloody fun. It's a crazy short game (emphasis on crazy) with a surprisingly well thought out plot. Totally worth $7 at amazon.com and something I could see replaying a couple times.

Just realized that my PC can run Street Fighter IV.
Finished the game with Zangief at normal setting without continuing using an extremely cheesy method - spam PPP lariat (too difficult to execute the throws with the keyboard)!

Just completed Alan Wake over the weekend. Now this is how I like my games to be; tight, compelling and a satisfying experience. My only complaint was the repetitive and sometimes frustrating combat (bad memories of Uncharted), other than that everything else was solid gold.
