Wish I knew more about Dunbine, but that line is too deep and some pieces are too pricey now. OK, this announcement got me excited- GP-01 & GP-02 from 0083
Excited about Bandai doing 0083 in the ANIME line. Hopefully we will see the Xamel and Gelgoog marines later on.

The Dunbine line is amazing. I broke down and back-collected most of it in the last 6 months. I just got the Fow and Tomamak and Todd exclusives today. It’s a simply amazing collection if you have any questions about feel free to hit me up. Read more: robotjapan.proboards.com/post/417275/edit#ixzz5hGO3zxam

The Dunbine Fhantasm stuff are very awesome. Much better and organic designs than the TV stuff. I passed on all the TV figures, but getting all the Fhantasm ones so far.

The TV designs have been across the board better toys. Better balance and better articulation. I like both but prefer the TV myself. But they are also better RD.

I guess for me, the Fhantasm designs are a lot more appealing, and is what Yutaka Izubuchi thought the Dunbine mechs should have looked like, if he was given the chance to redo them all over again, with a more ornate, organic aesthetics. But I can see the simpler TV designs made better action figures, with less pointy armor skirts, bulky backpacks and sculpt details to hinder articulation and balance. Not to mention they are cheaper and more accessible.

I really think the show is underrated, it’s a well executed story, but the TV designs really look excellent together as a line. As a cast of characters and vehicles it’s a comprehensive and cohesive cast of bots and support mechs. I am in love with it.

TattooedRobot mpchi So beginning of this year (2020), I started watching Aura Battler Dunbine. I don't know how I skipped this Tomino anime for so long, but I got drawn in. Watching a few episodes per week, little by little. Currently up to the part where Sho returns from Tokyo after that whole thing with Garalia. Beginning of February, decided to check out the Robot Spirits figures and I saw a pre-owned RS Dunbine for sale around $36 so I picked it up. Really cool little figure. Love the opening cockpit and translucent wings. The huge claw feet keeps it stable in all sorts of poses. Just fun to play with. The following week, I found a new Leprechaun for $35. What a fantastic figure. So stable, excellent articulation, and big (compared to Dunbine). I went looking for more clearanced figures and found a used Billbine for $36. Box was in terrible shape but the figure was like new. Billbine is a bit floppier, due to the transformation gimmick, but if you're patient, it is a nice figure. Then I bought a new Zwarth, $64. I think the backpack is heavy and causes all kinds of issues. Bandai should have made a ratchet hinge for the backpack. Otherwise, gravity will have its way, and the small ball-jointed waist doesn't help much either. Seems like Zwarth will always have to use a Tamashii stand for support. Zwarth does look cool, but it's my least favorite so far (despite being the most expensive one). Now I have a Virunvee and a Drumlo on the way. Needless to say, I got hooked in a good way. Regarding the Fhantasm versions, they do look beautiful and elaborate. Unfortunate that it's all P-Bandai, and each figure is over $100. I think I'll stick to the TV versions and slowly enjoy the hunt for them on sale. I have a question for you guys- The mini figures that come with the Fow and Sky Stage set, are they perma attached? Or can they fit into the cockpits of the aura battlers? If I ever buy this set, I would love to take the figures out and actually detail them up with paint.

Looking at that picture it looks ;ole the pilots are p[art of the mold (look at the hands) so probably not removable.

really needs some decals and stuff like the older RG, but still so photogenic and badass as it is... That's one thing that bothers me about this line. While many regular A.N.I.M.E. release are still quality stuff, they are always the "odd men out" in my collection since most of them are either Ka Signature or Metal Robot Damashii with default decals. But finding the right decals and putting them yourself seems a lot of work, and may come off just handling and posing the thing, just not the same as being painted on. If printed decals became a default deco even on regular releases, I would have bought a whole lot more than I did.

Actually, they got some some other RDs and diorama earlier in the video...
add/edit:
btw, not sure if Bandai made a silent update on their options-page, but I don't remember spotting it before...
