I'm digging how it turned out. I wasn't expecting to want the RD Mk II, but it looks sufficiently old-school to grab my attention.

Not getting the Mk-II, since I already gave the better Ka Signature. But look forward to other side Zeon mechs. Plenty of cool ones.

The new Dunbine is a very interesting one. Not only is it a new sculpt, this H.D. version is based on the more ornate and organic designs of the illustration style they used in DVDs and Blu-ray covers, sort of a more modern take in-between the very old school 80s TV show, and the awesome organic Aura Fhantasm artbook. Very curious if this is just a one-off release, or if it is Bandai's way of rebooting the whole Side AB line with an H.D. version of all or most of the mech in the show. I myself will get the Dunbine for sure, as I always prefer the more organic design than the one in the original TV show.

Yeah. Personally, I'd still prefer to see a new version of the TV Dunbine with better engineering and more accurate colors. But I've got enough history with this version of the design that I'm not gonna pass it by.





I doubt we'll see more than the Dunbine released in this style. Maybe the Billbine. But the I think the Dunbine is the only battler I've seen rendered entirely and repeatedly in that specific ornate style. (Though I can't seem to find most of that art now . . . The ones used for the DVDs is mostly all I can find. Curious if anyone has a better source for it. I'm pretty sure there's a bunch of it in a vintage art book somewhere . . . Or maybe it's from old manga covers?)
