SteamPunk is the theme folks. here's a great link for some information en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steampunkin that wiki the mention Often ENgland english inspired.. lets open that wider. So any kind of steam powered device should the main drive behind your creation. So you can design your own robot if you like or take a exisiting robot and and redesign into steampunk. I'm leaving this pretty open. YOu can scratchbuild/model, photo collage and draw. Whatever gets your design across. have fun. Let's try to have due in May 3rd. (2months from now). Here is the sketch. I had to sketch a small quick version so I can figure out how the parts will lay out on the large scale piece. This is only about 5" the large scale is ~14" and the assignment requires it to be mixed media. So it will not likely look like the sketch at all when is done. Its due tomorrow so I will have it done tonight.  |

I have to use graphite and some means of mechanical reproduction to add to the image. The teacher suggested printing something out and gluing it to the paper, but I don't like that, so I am using graphite, block stamping and possible ink.
The image is much enlarged, so a lot of those elements I sketched will not be in there. It will be more like a bust.

I know some artist like dave mckean and sometimes ashley wood have some nice newsprint paper in their backgrounds.. and they use paint to tone and mute it.. and incorporate to ahve a beautiful look to it.
But its not realy my thing either.
but itis good to experiment. I remember some strange assignments back in the day. At the time I hated it. but thinking back I wish Ihad experimented more.
