What are some good online sellers of the SCM EX's? Well unfortunately the SCM EX line is over. It's been replaced by Gundam Humable. HLJ has God Gundam and Master Gundam figures in stock.

zephyranthesYes it is worth it when you condsider lesser toys cost 30 MISA reach that price and are nowhere near the quality and articulation of SCM. HCM pros are even smaller and cost around 30 and usually much more! Here are some more facts to sway you. size comparison with two extended MSIA try doing these free stand poses with any other line. Delta!! good buy you will not be dissapointed! I already ordered my G gundam figures from HLJ. I also just got gundam dynames while he doesnt have the full cloak he is much better then the MSIA figure. i will be posting pics of my scm collection once i get zeta, exia, and shiki in!

For me, it gotta be the classic Kado Senshi GD-16 RX-78. www.hlj.com/product/BAN72868No contest. Oh, and I've got a couple of those SCM EX figures and I think the tiny waists coupled with the poseability make them look a little too "emo" when they are posed in that hunched-over "bishonen" slouch. ;D

Never was one for clear figures, but that blue light picture is pretty damn sweet! Not a fan of clear figures? ;D As you know MasterJ, they're my favorite!!!! Sorry to go off topic, but tell me this isn't cool looking! walterhobby.com/store/images/strike-rouge.jpg-Q Coldiron - I also got that figure. $18 bucks was a steal IMO. I also have the other two Clear Fix Limited Releases. The RX-78 with G Armor and the RX-78 Ver. KA Hong Kong Release. You should look into these if you like that one!

Yea, I'm trying to find good prices for all of them. There are two 1/60 Exia Crystal models (normal colors and trans am colors). Then there are two MG Crystal models, the Strike Rouge and MG Destiny. And lastly, there are 2 1/100 Astray models Blue & Red, and a crystal 1/100 Blitz. ;D

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the RX-78 Metal Grade although it had its share of flaws it was simply a work of art. Beautifully sculpted in two toned metal with metal accessories, metal stickers and a metal carrying case. It was also limited and has never been re-issued (likely never will) All for a mere $350USD. Imagine back when this thing was released it was quite prohibitive and unusual to pay so much for a robot. Nowadays, everything good seem to cost about $250 - $350 This is the best G3 representation hands-down As for the regular RX-78 its the metal composite Ka version that takes the title of the best RX-78 toy ever made. [IMO]

Yeah if your talking about limited availabilty and display piece then you may have a point, however, the question asked was best RX all around; detail, size, poseability, sheer coolness, and also price!
While metal grade is a rare gem and sought after many gundam collectors, it is merely a display piece, posebilty was ok, however, do to the weight of the item, the joints became floppy rather quickly, sucks to have that happen to a $350 toy.
As for the Metal composites..... beautiful toys but you cant do much with them besides display them either. Detail is immaculate however, but hes only good for standing and looking pretty, and still rather expensive (though i got the G3 version for $80!!)

Well, the original poster was asking for: the absolute best RX-78 in terms of: Sculpting Durability Articulation Etc. – meaning open to interpretation i.e. pose-ability, rarity, gimmicks, price, materials and whatever else you can think of. IMHO: RX-78 Metal Grade: • Is pretty durable - considering it is 98% die-cast • Pretty articulate – its even got leg shock absorbers • Very nicely sculpted It scores high in: • materials (die-cast), • tasteful un-garish gimmicks (metal weapons, carrying case stickers, bare metal finish) and • price given that it cost 2x as much as the RX-78 Ka ver. metal composite it still offers great bang for the buck if you really see it for what it is. Its only “Achilles’ heel” is its pose-ability, which is practically none existent due to its ill-designed ratcheted articulation points. It’s simply not capable of supporting the “heft” of an all metal figure. In fact, I wouldn’t leave it standing on a display for long periods of time without a stand. I also hate those stupid elbow joints. Call me crazy, but I really cannot see myself trading this figure with any other gundam figure [even beyond the RX-78 design] out there. Having said all that you’re right this piece is an acquired taste not for everyone. But I still believe that it is among the best if not the best

Lol good points there, and youd be crazy to trade it as well, it is a rare gem, and is worth more then any mentioned before. Still I love SCMs EX G3 since its emcompasses many of the fine details from all robots mentioned but is supper cheap! A price you just cant beat for what you get! Just won me a second set off of ebay!! I highly suggest you try one yourself, it is worth every penny!
