Good review. I am wondering about the figure next to your shadow commander. Just what figure is that in fishnet stocking bending over?

You win a no-prize for knowing that. I don't remember if I did a full review for each of them, but I remember making a few posts about the Haruhi series 1/4-scale figures... it was during my non-robot phase...

I allready have a pair of the 1st release to match with the Shadow Commander. But recently I broke a hips joint... AAAAAAAAAAArg ! So I have decided to buy the Shadow pack to keep them in gun mode. For the robot mode, I just bought the Perfect Effect PE-01 Frenzy & Rumble Colors... Nice tiny figures with great posabilities.
BTW, the Shadow Scythe version of Protector is sold out now. Some are now on the bay for more than 300 $ ! Crazy ! I bought a rodimus (the 3 pack wack) at RK. I will try to do a custom paint with it...

For those that are thinking about getting the Universe 3 pack with Rodimus, Galvatron and Cyclonus, and using Rodimus for the Protector set or repainting him black for the Shadow Scyther, bad news. It 3 pack was confirmed to be a Hasbro Asia exclusive and the Target exclusive was just a rumor. I got this set from RobotKingdom over a month ago and is still planning on using the Rodimus figure for the Shadow Scyther.

This is bad news for Fansproject... I don't know how many ex they produce for this run, but a lot of US fans wil be Rodimus loose with their protector trailer. I bought last week the 3 pack at Robot Kingdom...
Protector & Side arms preorders are open today at RK.

Well that's a major bummer. Wasn't planning on using it for the upgrade, I just thought they looked better than the regular releases. Emerje

Colors apps are not so cheaper on the 3 pack Rodimus : tone and saturation make it really "anime-accurate". For sure Fansproject Protector colors will match the Henkei version (because of gold plating parts). But... the idea for transformers models with matte saturated colors is not so bad. For example, Have a look on the Frenzyrumble Animated Kup... that kind of colors choice looks really cool. Imagine a whole Transformers line (G1 reboot please) painted that way... Wow !

I'm wondering if the Sons of Cybertron 2 pack release will be color compatible with the Protector Armor. Does anyone have any information whether the Rodimus included is the classic or the henkei version?

I'm wondering if the Sons of Cybertron 2 pack release will be color compatible with the Protector Armor. Does anyone have any information whether the Rodimus included is the classic or the henkei version? The Sons of Cybertron 2 is the three pack I was talking about and it's totally different from both the Classics version and the Henkei version. This versions color scheme was based off the movie and cartoon version. Doesn't have transparent window and has a yellow color spoiler. The classics verion is orange color, same plastic as the thighs. The Henkei version has gold color spoiler. Also Henkei has chrome color engine block, this 3 pack version is just gray. Having the Classic version and this 3 pack version, I can tell you that the 3 pack version is really bland, not a lot of detail. That's why I will use the shadow scyther trailer to hide and give him more detail. As for the regular Protector set, seems to be made to fit the Classics version because you have to buy the Sidearm targetmaster to get the matching gold chrome color spoiler wing entension pieces.

Thanks for clarifying. So the 3-pack version is an entirely new repaint that is different from the either the Henkei or the Classic one.
But what about the 2 pack version that only contains Convoy and Rodimus? The one with the black box with the faces on the cover, and lift up flaps (selling for approx USD 60 on ebay right now)?
EDIT: I think I can answer the question myself - seems like this version is made of clear plastic. I wonder how out of place it will be with the Protector armor set.

That one is based off the Henkei version so it has the gold color Spoiler and similar paint decal, the difference is that it's clear crystal color, kinda like ghost of Starscream. The Protector and Shadow Scyther trailer (repaint of the regular Protector trailer)can work on the six version of Rodimus that I can think of. You have the Classics, Henkei, 3 Pack version, Crystal version, ShatterGlass black version, and Black Henkei version known as Wildrider. Here is a link to the guy that has five out of six version. www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/new-images-of-upcoming-classics-clear-rodimus/19001/He is missing the color crystal clear version you mention in the 2 pack.

Wow - I didn't realize there are so many variations of the mold. Would the Wildrider version be compatible with the shadow sycther version? Looks like there's only a small difference in decal, and the slightly different color might make a nice two tone color scheme.

Either or, since the Shadow Scyther set will come with both Silver Chrome color wing attachment and grey ones. In any case the hood gets covered up, and the main different is the spoiler and hood. Both Wildrider and Shatterglass Rodimus are both way out of my price range at 400+ USD. That's why I am only using the 3 pack version for the Shadow Scyther trailer that I ordered. I think it will look okay since black red seems like a good mix. And one of these days, someone with a ShatterGlass Rodimus or Wildrider will want to pay me for the Shadow Scyther trailer since it is all sold out.

I do hope you get multiple copies of the FP Shadow Scyther trailer for that reason, or maybe to trade with someone who has an extra Shattered Glass Rodimus.
I'm interested in getting the clear Rodimus, hopefully he won't be too out of place with the standard protector armor. Strangely, I'm more hyped to the FP release than the official masterpiece one.
