I don't like the head too and, if you look at the head in my photo you'll notice it's facing down. But it's only one little error for an impressive piece and that doesn't bother me. I took a picture of the "shaking hands" piece in action. It's difficult to see in photos and in person it's not that good. Anyway, it's a good add.

Yeah, I posted some pictures of the protector in the previous page. This release just doesn't seems like it is getting a lot of love from RJ members. ...and you can count me in as one of the RJ members who love this set! absolutely awesome. As for others here, I hope you don't generalise them, maybe some have alrdy bought it & haven't voiced their opinion openly yet. ;D

I got my Protector last week and love it (FP makes the best TF's). I don't have a problem with the head at all - not sure what those that dislike it are looking for, but it looks good to me. My only complaint is the wing attachements. They always look out of place to me (slightly different color and do not line up just right in robot mode). However, they are easy enough to just not use in robot mode.

I got my Protector earlier this week and absolutely adore it. It's very easy and intuitive to transform - much better than the City Commander or Protector in this regard, and adds a lot to Rodimus. I wish more had been done with the trailer, but it's about equivalent for a rodimus figure, and amusing enough the whole setup for the trailer looks nearly identical to that of the Masterpiece one - only reversed and upside down. Seriously, just check it out - the MP version opens up the opposite direction, has a gun mount that extends in the opposite direction - it's like a mirror image, fairly amusing.

So , I guess it worked, I called out to the board and finally I get to hear some responses about FansProject's Protector.
Agreed, the wing extensions are probably the weakest part of this set. They really don't clip on all that securely and doesn't really make Rodimus Prime look at that much better. But these wings were added because it pays really good homages to the original G1 figure, kinda similar looking. Hey, but there are a lot of option with them sucker. Attached them to Sidearm and get a crossbow. Attached them to Guardian Roller for the massive spoiler look. Heck, someone has even clipped it on to City Commander Ultra Magnus, just for the hell of it.
On to other things, this looks pretty cool, and I will definitely get this when it comes out.

I hope Megatron gets better arms and not just articulated fingers.

hmm this might be cool i got the united War for cybertron Prime and the fanmade battle Axe coming in, i wish they could make some sort of trailer for him, i have seen a few custom artworks around that would make a cool toy, as of lately this is one of my favorite new Prime designs

This came in today. I don't have a shattered glass Rodimus or henkei Wildrider. I made the purchase solely on the announcement that it is really limited. So i am thinking bout selling it but not willing to let it go for at least double, or buying a son of cybertron transparent Rodimus to use this set.

I am really curious what that set looks like with the OG Rodimus. Wish I jumped on the preorder, as I prefer this version.

well, I let you know if I decide on keeping it, I will definitely post some pictures, just as soon as I buy a Crystal Rodimus to use this set but if you didn't like the original face, this one??? well it's better to just see what it looks like with a regular rodimus inside this thing. this picture is from a famous TFW2005 member Peaugh who also do a lot of youtube reviews.

Arrived today : Now it's time to customize this clear into a Black version. I don't know if it will be a Wildrider or Shatered Glass... The purple is very few, only on the trailer flame deco. So I will probably create a kind of combo version. But no purple on it for sure... only black, silver and a little bit of red.

I was contemplating on whether or not I should keep it and after seeing it with the clear Rodimus, it just doesn't do it for me, so I listed it on Ebay. I also considered painting my Challenge at Cybertron Rodimus, but I just don't want to use a self painted custom item on a limited release.

lejam,
Might you conciser a translucent black coat of paint to keep the light shining characteristics?

Exactly Coldiron... I want to turn this red clear into a black clear. I have a friend working as professional modeler who told me about a product made to color plastic. It's an ink which must be heating up (in a casserole) not boiled, then you drawn your plastic parts into it (before, you have to stop heating). It takes only few minutes... tadaaaaaa plastic color has changed !
Considering the plastic color base of the clear Rodimus is red I'am affraid it will turn into a kind of dark red/brown. So I will probably choose to use a very dark blue ink to turn it into a dark purple. I am waiting news from my friend to have a notice and tips about this ink. (I have questions like : "if some parts are painted, does it changes the color or just the plastic base ?")
For the legs which are yellow-clear, I will use a silver paint matching the same on the FP armor. About the gold spoiler, you can remove the yellow varnish and turn it into a chrome. ^__^ But I made some tests : alcool won't work but acetone does... but the chrome is loosing some shine T__T Need more tests. If someone has tips for this ?
So I will post a WIP in custom topic once I will start this. Exciting...

Thinking we're going to have a repaint of this trailer later on if Hasbro decided to repaint/repackage the toy into Scourge / Black Convoy.
