Seems like a cool concept. Neither of those armors really excite me, but the modularity is pretty nice. I could see this going somewhere interesting if it gets off the ground.
Thanks for the update!

from what i have read these will be model kits of some sort so i wouldnt count on any diecast parts and sure they will need painting. What im not sure about is if the fram will have to be built too or if you can just buy it and then buy the armors seperately. I am really looking forward to these!

Very excited for this line. I almost forgot about these. They look as if there in a position to compete with GFF that's for sure. I'm on board though. Especially if they're scale models!

Neat stuff, like the love child of Medabots/Medarot and Super Robot Wars OG. Could be fun, but I wont get too excited until we see more.

This line looks dope! Really shaping up to be quite something. So, I'm guessing these are going to be prepainted figures that are interchagable with Koto's Modeling Support Goods?? These pics are killing me though. I can't wait for October!

I wonder how these work, I didn think they would be prepainted though, koto is known for models and resin kits not much in the prepainted department side for some pvc figures. I would venture to say that these are going to be on sprues and have to be painted much like the mode lock kits. I have come to this conclusion due to thier price. The frame is only around 12 and the armor (which i guess comes with a frame as well) are priced at 32 or so. Since koto isnt the cheapest of companies when it comes to thier kits and such I have to say that these will be unpainted. Besides, if thier goal is customability why wouldnt they ruin it by painting them? Needless to say i will be getting these guys for they are F'n Awesome, though, I wonder how tall these guys will be?

I dunno, there's plenty of examples of painted Koto figures out there. There hasn't really been any indication that these will be model kits, has there?

well i swear everytime i read bout these they were reffered to as model kits but in my old age I probably just assumed as much.
As far as the paitning goes, I have only seen some painted pvc statues of thiers but not kits and I dont know of many toys they have made either. Of course ignorance is bliss so please excuse me if this is the case. Either way they look great and ill get them either way (painted would be totally awesome though as I am one lazy builder lol).

I'm on board either way as well. I will say that Hobby Search is a bit confusing on their reserve pages. The Frame Archetype is listed as "completed" whatever that means, while the other two; Stylet and Gorai are listed as "plastic model". www.1999.co.jp/eng/10092893www.1999.co.jp/eng/10092892Koto also doesn't have their materials list up yet. Usually they'll say something like PVC or ABS, blah and that can sometimes give us sort of an indication of the direction they're going. I guess we'll have to wait and see. HLJ is usually a lot more descriptive too when they ramp up for preorders. I've really enjoyed Koto's MSG line of kits though, The weapons, the vehicles. They're starting to proliferate now it seems. A bit hard to keep up. But it seems like they're trying to tie this Frame Arms line in with their MSG stuff. Pretty crafty of them! LOL!

Yeah I gotta give it to them, Bandai may make better kits (currently) but I love the lines that they are taking on. I always wanted bandai to branch out more but they are pretty much gunpla and a few odds and ends here and there (which dont last long usually either.......eg code geass!).
I still think they are going to be model kits though.

ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2009/07/kotobukiyas-frame-arms-new-images.htmlWell not much more information to add, but a size camparison to a hand shot, looks like these guys are going to be around 6" which is awesome. Not telling if they are going to be prepainted yet or just color coded plastic kits that you attach to the frame. In any case, I honestly cant wait for these, and thier price is just soo sooo right especially when you consider how thier licensed models kits run!

I'm on board with this one also, and with its great price point I have to at least give it a shot. I'm thinking Kotobukiya might have created this line partially because of the huge portion of the robot collecting market they miss out on with their models. These basically do the same thing the Armored Core models do with the interchangeable parts, but it appears to be less time consuming, (although this might sacrifice some detail). Coming from Kotobukiya I would think these should be awesome. Nobody makes better models, and their attention to precision and details has been awesome in every product I've bought from them.

Cant wait for these though...... october feel so far away... Dollar for dollar you get way more out of Koto vs. Bandai. And 99% of Bandai models are the same base Gundam model built over and over again with over 20 years of development and only minor exterior changes. Koto is busting out completely new designs continually. Bandai is fine and all, but they don't exactly take any risks or do anything new. Based on these factors I think Koto is the better model maker.
