Also I didn't get the coupon for the base since I bought this through Angolz, all that was in there was a piece of paper talking about this new website. www.bandai-asia.comHmmmm... Did Angolz mentioned anything why it didn't came with the coupon?

No but I'm guessing it's because this was a HK version so I'm only assuming the coupon comes with the Japanese version. It must get added later when it reaches Bandai Japan, but I think it's actually just a number which you give the website for the discount.

My HK version also doesn't have discount coupon. I saw JP version with coupon included. Anyway, the shop can find the base for me, so I don't care about coupon now. Let's Combine !!!

Nice score there, guys!
So, I'm looking at Combattler and Voltes standing there... ...would that right there be an accurate scale of these two robots as they'd appear in the animes? Combattler taller than Voltes? (according to the Super-robot height chart)
Also, are they sorta related together in the same mecha family? (the way the Mazingers and Grendizer are; and also like the Getter robot family)
It would be interesting to see a "Geneology" chart for all these super-robots, to show how each one relates to the other- if there's any relation at all; (ie: Mazinger-Z/GreatMaz/Grendizer/Kaiser/NeoMaz... ya know, like that sort) and include the names of the persons who created the super-robot character. But that's for another thread.

From what I heard the coupon is only for the first batch of combattler V sold in Japan. My friend got it in japan and he has the coupon.

Voltes V - 58 m Com-Battler V - 57 m Voltes V is sort of a remake of Com-Battler V since Tadao Nagahama, the director of the Nagahama Roman Robo Series (Com-Battler V, Voltes V and Daimos) wasn't completely satisfied with the latter. He added more drama to the story, gave more focus on the characters, and simplified/improved the main robot (fewer weapons/attacks, flight-capable 3rd machine, etc.) The three shows don't exist in the same continuity except for the semi-official manga, Victory V, which takes place in an alternate universe. The precursor to the Nagahama robots could be Yuusha Reideen, whose second half Tadao Nagahama also directed.

That's interesting to know; and as for Raideen, I'll certainly hold that thought for future research- Raideen being also another of my favorite, 2nd to Maz. For now, back to Combattler... as soon as I have the time I will look for and watch the series. The only familiarity I have of him was through the Marvel Comics version ("Combatra") back in that day... ...in the comics, the robot separated into vehicles operated by small robot-pilots while the head was piloted by some chic. Well I had a dillema like most of you that have both GX-03 and GX-50, what to do with GX-03? I was gonna display him in vehicles mode but decided that wouldn't be fair and just display him next to Groizer.

$100 dollars markup is rip off. Somewhere around 30% markup is fair in most common places. Someone out there would probably buy it in a instant, like buying 3 sets of the same item and such. It doesn't justify it for me. This is not like an ultra hard to find item, or it was made 30 yrs old poppy toys. I bet ebay would have it cheaper (not by much).
Anyhow, Amiami.com has the lowest price right now and I don't think it would go as low as $100. Not like Daimons, but more around Voltes V respect of around $130

What on Earth would justify such a high price for a simple-designed action-figure base? Gimme a break, is that thing really That heavy? Is that "magnet" shaped thing on top really Magnetic? Was the paintjob really That luxurious?
A darn shame. Like hangin a carrot in front of someone's face... if you can Reach it, you can have it.
Nice... manufacturer puts out an awesome SOC, but the retailer releases an awesome base with an outrageous price tag. Even jewelery cases don't sell for that much. <sigh> I wonder what will become of it in a few years from now.

It is insane expensive for a action figure base with a simple design! However, think about how much women will pay for their expensive designer purses.

Woot! Got my GX-50 from BBTS today. Can't wait to open it. I think I'll just box up my GX-03 to display this one. I was going to put GX-03 in the base, but it doesn't sound like I'll be getting one of those. Oh well.
