i will definitly be getting the #1006 unicorn gundam, and have already placed a preorder for it, guess it should arrive within the next month or two.
btw, i managed to see the GFFN #0043 at a local retail store, i though they have repackaged the GFFN but it turns the box size and design is exactly the same as the older GFFs. well, i suppose its what in the box that matters tho ;D

BTW is anyone planing to get the upcoming GFF MC Unicorn? I am still yet to decide... I wish it comes with the 'cage stand' as the new MG version. Since the GFF MC version is much more expensive. Definitely. Just not at the time it comes out... I'll wait for the price to come down a bit . The O's design is pretty cool, but...it has arms coming out of it pants ! Well, so does the Seravee Gundam!

Oh boy, now I'm excited again. I got my payment request for the pre-order I had at amiami and was a little taken aback for a moment (geez, amiami is dangerous - you are aware you are "getting a deal" because the prices are so good, so you click away, then you promptly forget about it, then weeks or months later you suddenly get an email asking you for a bunch of money you forgot you committed to!) But now, after seeing that first photo-review... damn, I'm totally psyched for whenever it arrives (next week maybe?). Suddenly I'm thinking I want to throw the blu-ray back into my drive and watch the first ep again (too bad we only got to see the Unicorn in action for only a minute or so at the end).

It surely looks good. But why it is not painted like the 'old' GFF MC toys used to be?...Both Psycho Gundams do transformation too... and Bigger and Cheaper. As an expensive toy, even the weapon is not painted. Bandai is being lazy...

yea, you're right! why are the weapons not painted! even the good ol' GFFs have their weapons painted.
but the display stand holding the gundam looks kinda cool tho. But i would expect more accessories for a GFF MC of this price bracket.

Yea bandai is getting cheap with their gff lines I'm not sure where the trade off is or even if there is one but seems like we are getting less while the prices continue to soar!! What gives bandai? At least we get better articulation but does that justify the cost?

Yeah, the price is one major factor to keep me from buying the GFFMC Unicorn. Usually I just stick with small size figures for my Gundam collection. But Unicorn is one of those rare designs that I want to own a very nice version of it (regardless the scale difference). However, seeing it using 80% of the MG kit design (with small modification & metal parts) doesn't quite add up to the price its asking for, especially with the unpainted look it has. Even the new MG kit comes with the MS Cage, and only cost about $60 at amiami. If this one is scaled back to about $100~ish, I might go for it.

I just gotta say, I just spent 30 minutes going over the manual and transforming into "destroy mode" and I love it! As I was saying some posts back, I was a bit shocked at the price-tag (even with the half-off EMS at amiami this month). But as far as "metal-composite" figures go, this is great. It has a decent heft, and the plastic seems reasonably durable so the mold is clean and the tampo-print is sharp. Fresh out of the box the panels are a little tight but once you figure out what to do, they pop in and out okay -thankfully the manual is beautifully illustrated with detailed diagrams and photographs. There were plenty of moments I thought, "man if I pull any harder it'll break." But then suddenly after jiggling the bits at different angles, then the part just popped right up. No paint-jams or mis-assembled parts.
I gotta say, I haven't been so pleased with a non-kit Gundam since the first (and only) Metal-Material-Model Aile Strike from Gundam Seed (yes, there were a different ones later but they didn't have the same die-cast metal endo-skeleton).
In my mind... worth the $150 plus shipping - I don't regret this buy. PS:not sure if its still available (I think it was a pre-order or first-run bonus). But mine came with this little portfolio with an art booklet of some kind in it. The folder has a foil-stamped "Viste Foundation" logo on it too. I'll need to photograph all this and post a blog entry over the weekend.

Ben, I just want to ask about the plastic. Is it molded in flat white or gloss white? Because if it's molded in flat white, I think it will yellow pretty quickly.
