Maybe I'm a bit election-drunk today but can someone please clarify for the dumb one today once more: Why is Bandai creating a differentiation of Gundam lines here with GFMCC versus Metal Build? Like, why don't they just release these puppies under the MB line? GFFMC are all designs/redesigns by Katoki Hajime. It's been like that since the first line Gundam Fix Figuration.

Its because GFFMC is a vanity line for Hajime Katona. All GFFMCs are designed by him and MBs are designed by other designers. That's pretty much the only reason.

New pics on the GMs. So cool. I think I'll go for the traditional TV red ver., even though the Slegger Origin is pretty cool too (but too close to the Gundam).

There were Tristar purple Zaku I in the show and model kits. But Bandai probably think it has more appeal to have the High Mobility Zaku II next to the red Zaku I, instead of all looking the same and less sales.

I'd like to form the three stars without having to buy three times the same unit.

I think the tri-star Zaku 1 was the robot spirits Ver ANIME that they had on display at the 2020 Tamashii Nations event.

Just opened the Char's Zaku I tonight. Very cool figure, and more or less as expected to be very similar to the previous Zaku II. While the difference may be minor to some, I do find the Zaku I has quite a different vibe when standing side by side with Zaku II. Color is almost identical, but you may find Zaku I's red a tiny bit darker in person, but super close (I think Bandai intended to match the color). And if you want it to carry the signature belt-fed rifle, the belt and extra backpack ammo will block out most of the slots around the waist and lower back, so it is almost meant to be a light-armed unit. The belt is made of soft rubber/vinyl with a good thickness, hopefully that means it won't disintegrate on you after a few years. Without that belt-fed rifle, you are free to slot in multiple extra ammo drums, bazooka behind the waist and what not. While Zaku II has all the printed decals in white, you actually get a few additional yellow ones this time. I really like it, and looks awesome right next to the red Zaki II. One thing I noticed is that the joints tightness on this newer Zaku I is less consistent than the Zaku II, which was the ideal sample of Metal Composite/Build execution. On the Zaku I, I find more incidents where certain joints in one arm or one shoulder is slightly tighter or looser than the others. And when compare to Zaku II, the wrist ball joints, upper arm swivels and hip swivels are overall looser. There are several AmazonJapan user comments complained that the neck is loose, though luckily mine was nice and tight. While a bit inconsistent, my figure is still very solid and sturdy. Wonder if the mold is showing some wear since this is the 3rd release using them. Hopefully it won't get worse on the coming releases. And for those that were on the fence, hop onto Amazon Japan and you may still be able to snag one US$175 shipped with DHL. www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/SPIRITS-Dedicated-Machine-Approx-Die-Cast/dp/B08GSG3GB8/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1JNP1O6J4RQW5&dchild=1&keywords=metal+composite+zaku+1&qid=1612679782&sprefix=metal+com%2Caps%2C177&sr=8-6Attachments:
