I wonder since it has removeable armor they will release the the super tekkaman armor set for him.. not sure what its called but he gets it at the end of the TV series. That would be Tekkaman Blastor... and compared to the Tekkaman Blade it sucked. However, if they decide to make the Tekkaman Blastor armor, it will probably be an entire new figure, not just the armor by itself. I am super happy with the news of the Tekkaman Evil! I wish the made it in Spec Form as well, together with its transport-beast. }D

Here's an interesting little note. Yesterday amiami had 18 Tekkaman Blades in stock above and beyond pre-order quantities. Today they have zero. That's a fast sell out.

Just received mine and put it together! So here's some early impressions and overview.
The Good: - Nice weight. It actually weighs more than I expected, and the armor pieces are solid with the larger pieces such as the chest, arm guard and leg guards are metal. I was expecting the plastic pieces to be thinner, more like model grade, but all of it is fairly thick. - Good paint job and color choices. -Decent amount of hand variations. -Looks as stellar in person as it does in pictures. I would think you photographers will love this guy. -Decent packaging. This surprised me. Bandai doesn't always have these great looking packages (ie SOC), but here you get a flip up cover with a window display showing the insides.
The medium: - Articulation is generally good and the figure has plenty of articulation points, but because of the armor causing space limitations in the joint areas, and because the joints are not ratched or highly supportive enough in the thighs and knees, you can't get really dynamic action poses without a stand. You can still get some good poses, but it can be a balancing act and not how you want to leave the figure on a shelf.
The bad: -There are few attachable armor figures I've seen where all the armor stays put all the time, and almost all of Tekkaman Blades armor is fine, but the pieces that I found to pop off while posing are the heel pieces and the shield piece either when stored and attached to the rear of the waist as part of the skirt or when attached to the wrist. The top part of the foot seems to get loose easily too. So not that big of a deal, just annoying while trying to pose or mess around with it. -The hands are a serious pain to get on. There is a double ball joint at the end of the wrist, or in other words, one end goes into the wrist and then the other ball joint pokes out where you connect the hand too. Sounds simple right? Wrong. Combined with the elbow joint moving around and the forearm armor piece that keeps wanting to slide down, trying to get that hand on is a bit like juggling. The best way I found was to straighten out the arm and then try pushing from the shoulder down. You guys with big fingers are going to love this.
Conclusion: I've been hoping for a good Tekkaman Blade figure for a long time. Several years ago I bought one of Bandai's dirt cheap Tekkaman Blade models and even though the model was about as chintzy as you'll find in models it really struck me how original and refined the aesthetic style was. Tekkaman has been a B-list character from the beginning and hence has never received anything remotely close to a definitive treatment. While certainly not toy grade in durability or stability, he is fairly poseable and manages his attachable armor system decently enough that it doesn't feel like this aspect gets in the way as it does with similar figures. Even if you discount any other factors, the Armor Plus Tekkaman Blade really captures the energy of this cool character and has enough accessories and dynamics to keep him interesting and playable, and for the collector this guy adds a lot of unique flair and looks stunning on the shelf.

Got mine today. Initial thoughts: Heavy as hell with armor, solid, still very movable with good articulation. Tight joints that can hold the weight of the metal. Almost all the armor is painted and gives Tekkaman a super sharp look.
However, the wrist ball joints scare me as they are quite small and its DAMN hard to swamp out the fist. I found a trick to it but its still a pain in the ass! Anyways, besides that I'M IN LOVE WITH this figure. Bandai Im buying more!
Anyways, PICS are coming!

For what I understand, Tekkaman Evil is next. What good is Tekkaman Blade without someone to fight with...

You guys are going to love the hell out of this figure. I'm realizing that he has more stability and balance than I had initially thought. I didn't really think he would hold solid in dynamic poses where the feet weren't firmly planted. I was wrong.
