Look what I got in today! Here is the box as I pulled it out from express box direct from amiami.com. Its my first order from them and so far I am very happy. The box got to me in great shape. The Grendizers I ordered were well padded with a generous amount of crinkled paper. Right out of the box...wow, love it! I dont own many Revoltechs but I have to say this thing is sweet. First thing I fiddled with was the neck articulation. Its got a multi-jointed neck. Here is one of the poses on the box. Sorry about the blurry picture, didnt realized it til I posted it This one kinda looks like he's charging up a fireball. Check out the alternate hands. His elbows bend neatly. Here you can see the forearms provided and how they bend. Check out the chest joint. Knee joints and leg panels. A dramatic crying pose. His instigating pose My best attempt at crotch thrust, very male modelish. Here are his optional parts His foot sparking thingy along with the display stand. Back of the box. My best attempt at a neutral pose (thank god he can do this) Here he is with my 12" Grendizer and Metaltech 01 So what do I think? I love it. I love its clickiness, its detail and features. I love that I can basically mangle this guy up and not have the fear of breakage. I was pleasantly surprised ow much torture these joints handle with my gorilla hands. It looks like brittle plastic but Ive yet to break one. The only pieces that seemed to fall off (during moderate handling) was the shoulder blade pieces. There are no extras so dont lose em! My only complaint with this is basically what annoys me (a little) about any Revoltech, which is the constant fiddling with the joints. I have to pull off the legs and twist the joints to get them where I need them. Some joints were seized since the toy is so new, but its such and easy fix its not a negative. It can achieve a lot more poses than I showed you guys here. Its so fun for such a small figure, I love the neck articulation. I also love that I can get a decent neutral pose so it matches my other bots on display. Hope everyone who preordered this gets theres quickly. Its not a super full blown review but I hope this helps you guys contemplating getting him. Its a nice figure.

I've been collecting Revoltechs since no.001 and I've been really looking forward to Grendizer. He's my favourite super robot and the cause for me to start buying Chogokins. I picked up my Grendizer yesterday and it was unfortunately my worst Revoltech experience to date. Firstly the price. Last year I could by a Revoltech for S$24. Grendizer cost me an incredible S$59.90! Okay he does have some new articulation, a box for joints, and the flash foot stand but is that really worth double the price!! Tetsujin 28 and Gaiking had equal numbers of gimmicks and equally good articulation. Secondly the quality control of this toy was terrible! More than 6 paint issues, an equal number of rough sprue edges, and the peg on the stand joint has been cut short. It hard to believe so many faults could be shipped in one box.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. You know more about these than I do so you should know. I paid less than $50 US shipped EMS for 2 of them which I thought was OK. As for myself, I cant put it down!

The thing that I still can't understand why they did it that way is the positioning of the shoulder revoltech joints... HIDEOUS!!! I'm hoping mine get here next week to actually see if there is any way I can modify the arms or even the placing of the shoulder joints so they don't look so crappy. I may also "extend"the lenght of the biceps, which are definitely way too short. However, I'm happy to know that this figure can stand straight without any support/stand. I was fearing that it had been designed to only stand unsupported when it was sticking out its crotch... so it is a relief.

I picked mine up from the post office today and I made the same observations... On mine the axe-blade on the right shoulder keeps falling off. And I blame the weird shoulder Rev-joint design. I don't know why they made it like that - he kind of looks like he's always shrugging. I know Revoltech can make big super-robot-style shoulders and get it to look cool: just check out Giant Robo! In fact, the first-generation Revoltechs were even more clever: no R-joints on the shoulders - instead they only had angled swivel joints that looked cool no matter how you placed the arms. I'm also having trouble with the feet. I don't know what it is, but the R-joint in the ankles are just always positioned in a way I can't get the feet to point the way I want them too... It's like Grendizer always wants to be in an action-pose.

I may also "extend"the lenght of the biceps, which are definitely way too short. }D Yes, I was thinking the same thing, especially in that comparison picture where it much more noticeable. It should be easy to do too. Basically a spacer.

cool review and nice close up images chachipower!
Its cool you have the metaltech and the 12" Grendizer. Revoltech Grendizer seems more obviously out of proportions because of its akward shoulder joints. From a far, it really looke like he's kind of hunching down.
But still, out of all the negativity, im pretty much happy that Grendizer was even Produced in revoltech incarnation. I really hope that soon more 70s Mecha will follow the same treatment and hopefully be better jointed than Grendizer itself.
On the side note, its cool to know blutengu collected these since its first release... and i hope themazingers can find a way to modify grendizers out of place shoulder joints.
Its a great figure, but still need improvement like most love-it-hate-it revoltechs.
kudos to your Cool Grendizer collection!

glad you guys enjoyed the quick review, I couldve probably done alot more but I was too excited.
I actually didnt pay much mind to the shoulders til themazingerz mentioned it, now its bothering me, the arms are indeed short too.
Although not pictured, those jagged cuff things, forgot name, gets in the way when switching hands, so Kaiyodo made a section of it pop off to aid in switching hands,

Welcome to page 2. ;D
Dude I luv that comic strip, GENIUS! ;D
Well, look on the brite side: You can do a stop-action animated youtube video of Grendy boppin his shoulders doing the Charlie Brown theme dance! ;D
Man, I just HOPE and PRAY that Mazinger-Z doesn't end up with his shoulders on his neck, or else Koji will have to find some other way to dock the Pilder... ...up his-
<shut yo' mouth!> ;D

I'm very disappointed with this figure. I have to admit that I'm not too big a fan of Revoltech to begin with but I thought I couldn't pass on Grendizer. Guess I should have. On top of the silly 'neck-shoulders' comes the fact that one of the screw crusher punches has lost its shape and is totally askew. I've read that quite a few guys have had quality issues on theirs and for such a tiny figure at that price, that is just unacceptable.

Hey, Welcome to RJ, Snowdog!
Man, that quality issue sucks; not good for Grendy's debut as a revoltech figure. Hopefully them folks have contacted Kaiyodo so the problem will get corrected SOON before any more faulty Grendies (and other faulty revos) get out.

I still stand behind my Grendy, Mine has no defects, maybe paint app is not the sharpest, has silly shoulders but its fun posing this little guy. Maybe some hair dryer action can fix the screw crusher magengar: Thumbs up for whoever does a video of Grendizer doing the charlie brown dance.

Maybe some hair dryer action can fix the screw crusher. That's exactly what I was going to suggest. Heat the part with the hair-dryer until it becomes flexible. It will regain its original shape. Once it does, dunk it immediately in cold water (from the refrigerator). This will harden the part rightr away... and you're done! ;D }D
