It wasn't that big, it was regular size. This Rocket Punch was a temporary fix until an upgrade could be done. Also, it was not more powerfull than the Brest of Fire, it was just a hardened alloy. This was later applied to the entire Mazinger Z in subsequent episodes (even when it was not shown, it was hinted that Mazinger's armor and energy had been upgraded). Of course, that's what happened in the 1970's series, but the manga may have been different.

5.5 inches. Thats not bad but I wish Gear Fighter Dendoh would have gotten the SOC treatment before this. Still cant wait to get my hands on a few of these figs.

If anyone has the old Yamato diecast "Hero Collection" Mazinger, Great Mazinger, Getter 1 or Getter Dragon, those figures are 5.5" tall too. So you can basically have an idea of how big the SRC figures will be when posed next to other Chogokins.
I think it would've been nicer if they made a flip up box window similar to how Soul Specs are packaged so we can actually see what we're getting. As is, the box packaging is a bit a of a cheat. Looking at the SRC figures next to the huge boxes and factoring the relative lack of extra accessories, there seems to be a lot of empty space in the box me thinks?

Regarding the over sized Kyoukagata Rocket Punch. If these fists are compatible with regular SOC's then they add a lot to SOC collector's display options. The Kyoukagata Rocket Punch was only available with SOC Secret Base before if I'm right. I've been trying to make some rocket punch trails for my Revoltechs and SOCs so I'm glad that Bandai have saved me the job of casting them.

Anyone else here watching Heroman? It's a new anime by Bones (Eureka Seven, Raxephon) and conceptualized by Stan Lee. It's kind of like Gigantor/ Giant Robo with a boy named Joey who can control a super powered robot called Heroman.
It's pretty good so far, and I'd really like to see a SRC of Heroman at some point! Lots of opportunities for cool effect parts!

The collaboration with Stan Lee has me curious. I wonder if we have a thread about this character?

Not yet that I've seen... the show's pretty fun, even if the badguys are really kind of generic (especially for a Bones show). Crunchyroll has episodes 1-10 streaming for free so I've seen up to episode 7- definitely going to finish watching when I get home today.

The robot design reminds me of Die-Buster.

I think the packaging is just going to be a standard size for all SRC figures to cut costs and keep a standard shipping formula. I'm sure figures like Maz and Great will have loads of extra space but others like Dendoh or whatever may need more space so this will keep Bandai from having to make different size boxes which will effect different size cases and then how many they can ship in a crate and so on.

One would think that, but if the package design is like Robot Damashii, it'll vary depending on the size of the figure and the amount of accessories they come with. It's kind of annoying.... but if they've improved on their package design they'll figure out a way to make the size standard.

Does anyone else wonder about the possibility of those accessory fists and rocket trails being of compatible size with regular SOCs? The fore arm size is right!
